SWR WorkingPro 2x10C bass amp review

Музыка

Just wanted to do a quick review of my main amp, the SWR Working Pro 210c with SWR 15" add on cabinet. This system cranks out 400 watts of great tone. It's heavy and not much fun to move, but it's a workhorse and sounds really goodI I also like the single rack space which is perfect for my Korg rackmount tuner. The two button footswitch with mute and intesifier is really handy as well. created this video with the KZread Video Editor ( / editor .

I may be wrong, but I don't believe this particular setup is still being made. This rig sold new for around $1200 (combo and 1x15 cab together) but I caught it used (in like new condition) at my local guitar center for half that, so I jumped on it. I buy a lot of my gear used because you can save quite a bit of money if you know what you're looking at and buy from a reputable source. Thanks for watching!

***** I can't reply directly to your comment, but unless I'm mistaken, the working pro 15 is different from the 2x10c in that the 15 has only one speaker output which is connected to the speaker inside the amp, meaning that you can run ONLY the built in 15 OR another external speaker cab whereas the 2x10c has an ADDITIONAL speaker output so it can run the built in 10's as well as an additional cab simultaneously. This means that you are probably already pushing the full rated wattage of the amp with just the one 15 inch speaker, where my 2x10 runs at a reduced wattage, then when I hook up an additional cab I get the full power of the amp. If I am correct about this, I would not worry with trying to connect a 2x10 cab to your amp as you will basically be unplugging the 15 to use the 10's. Like I said, I may be mistaken, but I think this is the case. Check out your owners manual or google support.swramps.com/manuals/pdfs/WorkingPro_2x10C_15.pdf to download a copy if you don't have one. Hope this was helpful

Thanks for posting all the info on this amp. I am looking at buying a used one, and as you can imagine I am pretty curious as to what they can do. Looking to sell a lot of odds and ends and pieces I've picked up over the years, and just have one small setup to work with and around. Hardly gig at all anymore, but I have owned a bass amp of some kind since I was 15 (a 50 watt Fender Bassman, and yes, Fender has made some awesome amps), just can't bear the thought of not having one in case the need arises. I have used just about every amp combination I can think of( yep, I went through my Acoustic 360, and SVT stage) but now I'm feeling my age, and can't afford weekly visits to my chiropractor. I owned an SWR Working Pro 400, which I think makes up the head section of this combo, I could be wrong but it has almost the same specs. Although it wasn't as "growly" as I would have liked, it had a very respectable tone. Thanks again for taking your time to share your experience with this amp.

Hey man, great review! I just pick up the same one used after watching this. I know that you like the 15" extension cab and I've read mixed reviews on that pairing, and that a 2x10 would be a better match up. But, in the end the major consensus you're better off with a side by side comparison. Unfortunately, that unrealistic. I would have to order each cab for the A/B because the local music stores do have these laying around. So, my question is what are your thoughts? I play mostly metal and like a very bold thick yet crisp articulate sound. Thanks!

Hey mate. I managed to find a store that has one of these amps laying around in their warehouse! The guy says it was a floor demo but is still Im very good condition! Have you used this amp at band practice and to gig with? How powerful is it really? I would use one at small to medium sized venues all of which have a PA. The only time id be running it without a PA would be at band practice. Would this fit my needs? Thanks!

Bruce Armstrong I use this amp exclusively for both practicing at my place and for gigging. It is plenty loud for practices, and has been sufficient without using a send to the PA for every gig I've had so far. We typically play at venues with anywhere from 100 to about 300 people and I'm competing with a mic'ed acoustic drum kit and tube guitar amp. I may be wrong, but I believe you will need the add on cab to get the maximum output rating from this amp. I always take my 15" add on cab as well as the 2x10 combo itself when I play out. It's heavy but it's built like a tank and hasn't let me down yet.

I love the sound of the 1x15 with the 2x10 or 4x10 cabs. My SWR sounds great to my ear and I have had zero problems with it so far.

If that thing is fender built it's a piece of shit...fender doesn't know how to build amps, they never have...that's why they buy companies like swr and run their crappy fender shit under names that meant something once, lmao

Fender doesn't know how to build amps? Really?! They've only been doing it since the 1940's and have been used in studios and on stage by artists spanning multiple generations and genres including The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Brian Setzer, Eddie Van Halen, Billy Gibbons and on and on...... But I'm sure you're a much better musician and judge of quality gear than these guys.
