I love this scene. I'm incredibly glad Melody talked some sense into Daphne. I have a brother who is high functioning Autistic (and I know it's not the same thing.), and opportunities for him, where he is treated like a normal person are hard to come by. I get so tired of people just shoving off people who are different than you, because they can't hear, they are socially awkward, they have sensory issues, etc. Give them a chance. They really aren't that different from us boring "normal" people.

speaking as an autistic Thank you, and yet All I have to say is after how I've been treated I am hellbent to prove a point, which is essentially that we are not the ones who are inferior the neurotypicals are projecting. i.imgur.com/cQiYn9A.png I have an LLC. I'm not waiting around for them to give me a chance. done asking please. I will CREATE my own opportunity like a snake eating it's own tail. external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmysticalmodernism.files.wordpress.com%2F2010%2F12%2Fourob.jpg&f=1&nofb=1

You're welcome! Love it, too! Expecially when Melody does the 'enough with this guy' sign. And when she reminds her of the people, that fought really hard for their rights.

Wow, I never thought I would get a reply. I usually don't. I agree, my favorite point in this clip is when she signed "Enough with this guy!" But, she had so many good points that I practically watched this clip a hundred times. Every one of those signs was good. I love just watching one aspect of her at a time: her hands or her facial expressions, she is so expressive and can really drive the message home. Marlee Matlin did an awesome job.

@@katymvt that’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe she wasn’t the best person to tell Daphne to toss him to the curb

Agreed 100%! If you haven't watched the movie 'Temple Grandin', I highly recommend it. I just watched it last week and it's about an autistic woman from the past century whos ideas completly changed society's views on handling livestock. Truly moving film! And as a future biology professor, I'm starting my ASL course next month, so I can give my best when it comes to teaching everyone willing, hearing or not.

As an autistic opportunities don't come along for us often either, so I chose to use my Social security checks to file an LLC and create a few for myself ex nihto. Because I can do that.

I am continuing my post, there just isn't enough character space. I suppose the way I study someone is because of my passion for dance. I like to break down the steps so sometimes I need to see things multiple times to get everything and really enjoy what I am viewing.

There are actually several ways you can show it. It depends on what exact type of love you're describing.
