Some rescues keep files on individual that adopt and return, often lying about the dog's behavior to avoid responsibility for surrendering the dog often multiple times. Lying about a dog can result in the dog's euthanize. One gentleman reported trying for a third adoption that the dogs "kept running away". People spontaneously adopt dogs then realize they really do not want the 24/7/365 new family member. If a person abuses, tortures, or de-socializes a dog to make a "guard" dog or "protection" dog they need to be flagged at all rescues.

So, she sat there as she watched her mom and dad each drive off with one of her siblings, leaving her behind. Lucy, like all dogs, trusted her family. She wasn't staying by her old house, or refusing to get in the car because she was scared. She was waiting for her family to come back, because she trusted that they would. People who betray that trust, loyalty, and love of a pet are monsters, who don't deserve to have another pet, ever!! I was so happy to see Lucy at the end of the video. Finally with a family that deserves her and the trust, loyalty, and love she'll give them. And I'm sure they're going to give her all the love in the world, right back. ❤❤

The other dogs lost her, too, so there was plenty of pain to go around. But hers had to be the worst. How could they _do_ that to her?

I recently drove a dog who was losing his home to a divorce. It was so sad. The woman just walked away. The man had to move for a job and couldn’t find an apartment that would allow his big dog. He brought his sweet girl to me and said, “Promise me she’ll go to her forever home.” He was in tears. His sweet girl was adopted within a few days. Happy ending for all but the young man who loved his dog enough to make sure she’d be safe.

It is considered animal abuse to abandon a pet - in all 50 States. It is a criminal offense. Since the neighbor they spoke to knew about what Lucy's owners did, I don't understand why she didn't report it. If she had, Lucy would not have been left abandoned and alone for 2 weeks, poor baby. I hope they investigated Lucy's family and made them take accountability for their crime. How awful 😞 What kind of person does that? They should be punished for the decision they made, fined, and sentenced to a reasonable amount of jail time. They should never be allowed to be pet owners.

So happy that the poor pup was rescued and rehomed. Really cruel to leave an animal behind.

Sometimes I just hate people. That sweet dog had no idea why she was left and alone. Thank you to all that jumped in to save her and find her a home! She sure looked happy having another dog around at her foster home. I hope her permanent home has a dog for her too.

Jesus Christ that's cruel. They didn't just abandon her, they took (& split up) the two other dogs she probably loved. & they just chose to leave her like she was worthless. Neither of those people should ever be allowed to own a dog in the future. This was heartbreaking. So glad she was rescued by people with love in their hearts.

What a beautiful girl, her eyes are so expressive. Lucy is so full of love, her new family is so lucky to have her enrich their lives. ❤

Things like this is why there should be a registry for people who mistreat animals, so they can be barred from obtaining more and doing harm to them. Why would you ever abandon such a sweet girl?

That would be such. godsend for people. I bet you could save a lot of people from being manipulated, or taken advantage of if such a record existed. If they are willing to be this cruel to an innocent dog, who would they not hurt? Children? Elderly? Brilliant suggestion.

When she was all alone at the top of the hill outside the house….my heart was squished into itty bitty pieces. The filth that abandoned her can’t even be called humans, because humans have compassion, the act was so goddamn callous 😭 and she’s such a strikingly beautiful and sweet dog ❤
