Swedish ski resort suffers severe flooding after river burst its banks
The Susaback River burst its banks after torrential rainfall, flooding a popular ski resort in the town of Åre. Subscribe to Guardian News on KZread ► bit.ly/guardianwiressub
Flood waters rushed through the town, inundating roads and leaving shopfronts damaged. This comes after heavy rainfall caused a train to derail and roads to flood in Sweden and Norway. Meteorologists issued red alerts, the most severe warning level, over several days. Warnings say the hardest hit places could receive a month or more worth of rainfall in 24 hours, bringing the worst floods in 50 years for Sweden.

Sadly the streams coming down the mountains don't have enough flood space. Hopefully there will be made wider and have more overflow capacity when being restored.
Even in gothenburg our opera house are flooded in the city 30cm rain
Decorated expert professional here and the main cause of the flooding is the water from the sky.
Wish Sweden was like Chillingbourne - no flooding ever!!
Seems like poor drainage system. Besides concrete roads don't help either. Don't they use pumps to drain the water during such floods?

It's actually pretty bad. This is up north, but it's flooded in central Sweden too as well as in my home county in western Sweden. I live near the coast but thankfully about 80 meters above sea level. So three different regions of the country are more or less flooded. It still rains here, as it has done for several days now.

We have been doing that for 150 years now. Using oil and spreading CO2 into the air and warming the planet.
