Batmitey, Thank you so much for posting this fond childhood memory!! I loved this show and wish it had lasted a whole lot more than it did. Well, no one ever will take away these five classic Swamp thing adventures thanks to you, Batmitey!!!

i love how Arcane used like a bit of sap from the xingu tree before tossing the bottle on the ground...."i want every last drop" well shoulda thought of that before you trashed a whole bottle

I have to admit that I'm enjoying this old cartoon very much. It's too bad that Swamp Thing's cartoon didn't get very far, or so I hear.

I didn't know the Swamp Thing had it's own tv show. Wow!

At least he's not the hackneyed "Mystic Native American Warrior" stereotype that Spirit on GI Joe was. Weird metaphors like "The weasel has farted in the den of the bear" Or Apache Chief. John Thunder from Centurions was pretty good too. And Bravestarr was pretty decent, I liked that they and Tomahawk were played fairly straightforward

My theory; the Un-Men's mutation was more extreme (e.g. Skinman turning into a bat-thing), which made it too unstable so it eventually wears off. Arcane's mutation was comparatively less extreme (he's still basically human-shaped), so it's more stable and so doesn't wear off.

@kilkolio Arcane's mutation was not a result of the process that turned his goons into un-men, hence it was not as reversible.

@kilkolio Arcane wasn't "mutated" so much as he was "disfigured."

@AlphaPiscis Thanks. You make a very good point there about how he resembles the Un-men's default forms. Good observation.

Does anyone notice that the guy that does the voice of Arcane is the same guy that plays the voice of Sabertooth on the 92 X-Men cartoons?

The swamp things voice was a little too heroic and exagerated in this show..but still a good cartoon...
