Concise and well explained. False Ego "I" is simply mistaking one's true self with body and mind. Mind is a bundle of desires. Most people say 'I want Peace'. Once the "I" (Ego) and "want" (Desires) are removed, only "Peace" remains. Also known as 'Neti Neti' in Vedanta when all false associations are negated, what remains is pure consciousness or true self. Easy to explain in theory but it takes years of practice to reach that stage. Another connection between ego and consciousness is the mind where consciousness is revealed. On clean mind ego reflects nealy as the witness consciousness 'paka ami'. If the mind is cluttered I, e on unclean mirror distorted or hazy reflection which generates distorted perception of ego.i, e ' kachha ami'as so aptly Ramakrishna referred to. So if the connection mind is dissolved or we can attain no mind state and then perhaps we realize that actually I, for nothing had been holding a connection so dearly to get connected with myself

I was seeded with 'tatvamasi' 25 years back. But Had No clear ideas. But 2 years back i read yoga vasistam and cleared some doubts. I got better ideas. By Swamiji my mind is getting vanish of all doubts.

I'll make a confession here. I've had an experience or two where, in like a hypnogogic state, I forgot who I was and couldn't tell which of the people around me I was. My interpretation of this experience was that it was good. But I know naturally that I am not this good thing.

He starts from differentiating connection of ego with 1) reflected conciousness and 2) pure conciousness and finishes mixing them up.

Crux of the matter is that ego is the jivatma which transgress bodies after bodies, aquires new body depending upon your karma and what's your perception about ego on that latest birth. Don't know whether I've put it in proper perspective.

हरिःऊँ, प्रणाम, स्वामीजी।As a beginner many doubts arises again in mind&intellect,exactly who is. Experiencing life.In sunlight every thing happens but sun is not experiencing it..?!

I am aware that the concept of karma from previous lives is not really fundamental to the case Swamiji is making here. However, can anyone shed any light on what this transmigration of the 'subtle body' actually is. Latest in scientific thinking says that the mind is best thought of as software and the brain as hardware. The software only has any use when instantiated into a physical object eg a computer game is only useful when instantiated into a physical object such as a disc or a harddrive. So how are we to understand that this 'subtle body', presumably the software, migrates after death? Does this invoke some sort of parallel universe (everett many worlds) travel?

No need to tame it. Just understand it as an appearance in you. Any appearance is not you. You are prior to that appearance.

😇 Following your teaching Swami-ji. I realise I'm not the mind/body complex. I am the seer, the witness, the awareness. What is the next step? I have been stuck at this point for too long!

TheFiestyhick there is no ego to kill. It’s a mistake. You don’t have to kill the snake which was really only a rope.

So my baby is an object ? I experience him , his loss , his love , his memories.

I understand what you are saying but it doesn’t tell me how I can get to know my real ME. We do not have any tool other than mind, body, intellect, ego etc. to understand or experience our true self. So what do we do ?

Advaita Vedanta is incoherent, mostly based on Hindu mythology. This man often makes a mix of different doctrines, which are incompatible with each other. Very new age
