So glad you reinforced the decision to use the GT40 intake... I have been following Matt’s build since he bought the truck and really have enjoyed to hear the progress on CarCast. I’ve always thought he should keep that intake for Lightning heritage and nostalgia.
Glad to see people still making Gen 1 Lightning content, and people working on Gen 1's! I love mine, and after 27 years I wont part with it, but now it has 395 cubes and a Vortech waiting to go on, and it does still have the GT-40 intake.
That suspension sounds like the high dollar HydroShox Suspension System that Tanner Bros. makes with Mittler Bros.
Clean Gen 1 Lightning! Love this thing! Hardly see clean examples anymore!

Gen 3 Coyote will make it scream with a 10 speed automatic
That's an awesome Lightning build. Thanks for sharing Evan!
I'd love to get one of these Lightnings.
miss my 94 lightning. wish i never sold it
Poetry in motion😍😍😍
Cool 😎! I was looking online this morning for Lightnings for sale . They're not cheap , at least in Ontario Canada .
This makes me miss my first “fast” vehicle I owned. I had a black 93 Lightning. Mine had the cavernous center console instead of that jump seat. Only mod I did to mine was a Bassani cat back and that was only because one of the stock muffler baffles broke free, .I miss that one except the 12mpg it used to get. To bad Ford, hell any manufacturer no longer makes a sports truck.

Sad fact is my stock crew cab 2017 F150 is way faster than the 95 Lighting I had... Still wish I had it however

@@dannydunn2772 same could be said for just about any car. I’ve got a 94 Cobra with a 351 in it as a “fun car.” My 17 Focus RS is just about as fast if not faster then it.
Love the truck project. As a multiple Gen 1 owner I'm Interested in seeing the blower build on the new motor as well. Great stuff keep it up.
Thats one beautiful restomod 93 Gen-1 Lightning brother.

Its a 95
Omg! I love it! I'm partial of course! Haha!
i had a black 95 just like that when i lived near Brian Wolfe in warren mich.
Cool truck.
Have you guys looked at AJE's K member kit for the 92-96 F series?
Sweet Lightning! One question though , seeing Lightnings are so rare, why not keep the mods limited to bolt-ons , and hot rod a everyday obs f150 reg cab short box and slap some stickers on that ? You will be removing 90% of what makes a Lightning a Lightning from this well optioned unique example anyway , it will probably never retain its value once cut up and turn into a has-been basket case.

Not everyone is worried about maintaining the value. Plus, modding is what makes having one fun.

I agree with you, however my 93 Lightning is highly modified too so I'm not one to talk.
This is a lesson on how to spend lots of money to depreciate the value.
GEN 1 LIGHTNING: modifications are Blasphemy a stock Lightning handles so well it scares you especially when you realze you are running a 4,800lb truck handles so dam well. SVT designed the frame, thouroughy refined suspension and drivetrain to put the SS454 CHEVY in a dumpster package. The rear axle with large cooling reinforcing ribs is as unique as everything else on Lightnings. Tubuler headers, 130mph speedometer/tach dash, sway bars, coolers, only street legal production use of R~code COBRA tube intake. To believe a non~engineer bolting on parts will improve handling is an insult to SVT. Claiming they will firm up the suspension says it all, they are clueless Why undo everything that makes aLIGHTNING.....Aways am having others racing me as I drive normally off a light, getting to 45~55mph is effortless
I am rebuilding my 95 Lightning, I will take any left over nuts, bolts, ect. Mine were pretty crusty.
Dig those wheels. What are the specs on them? Have been looking for a nice classy 17" with 5x5.5 bolt pattern with a wider footprint for a bit.
Awesome 👍
I'd like to know where the 18inch billet wheels, manufacturer and part number if available?
Any chance to get a set of those wheels cut????
Very intrested on the one piece glass idea. Wherecan i get more info on this?
Any chance I could get the shop information that made the rims? I have a 95 lighting with a built motor but I want to maintained stock look. Thank you
What center caps are you running? I need a set for my truck cuz the lmr ones suck.
I need those wheels
Where can I find those wheels I would like to buy a set for my truck
Trying to find a Gen 1 Lightning in CA, crazy people want over 20k for 200k miles and rough shape.
