Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX Review | Adventure Ready or A Comfortable Tourer?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

One of the biggest surprise two-wheeler launches of 2022 is the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX. The V-Strom SX is the first affordable ADV two-wheeler offering from the Japanese two-wheeler giant for the Indian market and also its third 250cc motorcycle. The Suzuki V-Strom SX is powered by the same 250cc engine as seen on its other 250cc siblings and even the gear ratios are identical. What is different though is the styling, the V-Strom 250 looks like a scaled-down version of the bigger V-Strom 1050 and the V-Strom 650.
The new Suzuki 250cc ADV bike features LED headlight, all-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, call and message alerts and even an external USB charger. While the bike has the visual appeal of a proper adventure bike, the Suzuki V-Strom doesn’t have the kit to justify the V-Strom name. The suspension travel is similar to its road-spec offerings and it doesn’t even get dual-channel ABS. We head out for a 230km road trip from Dharamshala to Manali to find out if the V-Strom 250 SX is a proper adventure tourer or if it's just a sudo ADV bike.

If you take 100 guys, even less that 5% will be intrested in hard core offroading..what we need is a bike in which one can munch miles without fatigue...and take the unexpected humps and potholes with some confidence...and can take broken roads ( you don't have to find trails..most of the Indian roads will give this experiance except the NH'S)..It's a good long distance tourer...but regarding the second point ...need some clarification...

Exactly this is not meant for complete off roader .. company knows 90% of PPL will communicate on highway only .. so this is best bike ... Price quite high but manageable because it's look cool .. impressive and has road presence.. and one more thing ... I know many PPL who did laddakh trip with scooty and hero splendor too ..so it's just a matter of how's your ride quality.... M going to buy this bike for sure 😍🔥🔥

Thf, this is a good bike and we all knew gixxer engineering is good. But the price could be a bit lower. Suspension travel is the problem, you may not go offroad, but 120mm is a bit too short for touring in Indian roads with bumps and potholes

I don't know why every reviewer stresses more on off roading again and again in their videos. 5 to 10 % or utmost 20 % people go for hardcore offroading. Mainly people want to cruise long distances with a decent bike in all aspects, which i think this bike does very well. I personally took a test ride today its really very comfy and easy to manoeuvre in heavy city traffic and pickup, power is also decent. My frnd took his platina to ladakh in 2018 he didn't face a single prob throughout his entire journey. Lots of people take 100cc commuter bikes to ladakh every year so this bike can 1000 % do ladakh very easily. What this guy said abt ladakh for this bike is absolutly wrong.

Funny thing is even the company isn't advertising it as hard-core off-roader. That said, with a handlebar raiser you can easily get it modded to have even better off-roading. I have seen guys riding RE Himalaya to step outside to smoke cigarettes wearing a chappal. Upon asking the guy told me that he never been able to travel outside Delhi because of work commitments. In that regards Suzuki vstorm 250 is excellent. I'm sure it will perform better than RE Himalaya in terms of servicing, reliability and mileage given its Japanese. Also it gives you tubelsless tires which is very important when you're on a highway at night.

  • @AkyBikeSanchari9461

Power(you can cruise at 120 to 130), mileage(35in city and 40+ on highway), comfort( you can ride all day without any pain and stress)No heating issues, service cost(1200 free service and below 2500 paid service), Then why it's over priced compared to 400cc bikes? It's giving all the required elements which can't be offered by 400 cc bikes. If it's over priced also we can recover through mileage and service cost. But trust me it's the best highway tourer for Indian road conditions.

Have a sf for 5 years and it's an amazing bike. Problem with Suzuki is they don't focus on confirt and quality of suspension and you won't get the suspension spares quickly. Most of their dealers will not have stock as there is too much of parts than required in their suspensions forks. Would recommend not to go with Suzuki unless you are convinced with rh suspension setup.

But if you ride motorcycles just to enjoy riding, you will see some sense in the idea of feel and emotion. Riding is a visceral experience so how a bike feels to ride matters immensely. For example, I always enjoy riding my friends' Interceptors more than my own BS4 390 Duke. Why? Because the Interceptor 650 'feels' better. The BS4 390 Duke on the other hand feels boring. The old BS3 390 felt the best and I would rate it higher because of how it 'feels' to ride despite the numerous improvements in the BS4 version.

If this was available in the US, I'd buy two of them -- one for me, one for the wife. I'd like a small adventure bike as the counterpart to my SV650, and the Versys X 300 is the only option and kind of expensive. Same is true for the 310GS and the KTM 390ADV. I guess Suzuki just doesn't want to be in the small bike market in the US..... the TU250X was a nice option but not sold here anymore. If they had a Scrambler version of the TU it probably would have done well. What I'd like to see Suzuki do is put out a Scrambler with around 400cc that looks like the Ducati Scrambler - undercut them like they did with the SV650.

Wonder why it has become such a challenge for Hero motocorp to design a simple comfortable seat for rider n pillion in this age and stage... Even Platina and Radeon seats would beat X pulse hollow in terms of rider n pillion comfort👍
