Suzuki S-Cross 2023 review | This small SUV has a higher price than it should!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Suzuki S-Cross 2023 update saw the model range trimmed, but prices went up significantly. And it can't really justify the jumps.
That's the general gist of the new-look S-Cross compact SUV, which competes with the likes of the Kia Seltos, Nissan Qashqai and Mitsubishi ASX, but costs thousands more in base-model trim than any of those SUVs.
Sure, the S-Cross is AWD across the board, and has a good little turbo-petrol engine, but according to family reviewer Emily Agar, it costs too much and feels too outdated when you compared to its more stylish rivals.
So, does it have any other redeeming features? And is the revised appearance actually better than the old model? Tell us your thoughts below.

When it comes to reliability, maintenance and repair, you will thank them for the old school stuff. Some of these modern electronic gimmicks just serve to make repairs a nightmare, while some are unnecessary. It's not difficult at all to adjust a seat manually, to use a manual handbrake etc. Dead easy and offers peace of mind, takes worry off having to constantly think about what if they break.

I have the FWD version. I find it to be a good drive. The 6 speed manual gearbox is notchy from new, but I'm hoping this will improve with use. This is particularly noticeable going from neutral to first at traffic lights. The seating comfort is very good - and heated which works well. Android Auto is excellent, as is the reversing camera and sensor system. The car looks good in my opinion - I have the grey version as in this review. There are a good range of extras as standard, which makes for a satisfying new owner experience. I do not like the lane departure system because it affects steering input quite significantly when switching lanes - for me it upsets the driving experience. The engine is a solid performer, with good initial acceleration for a family car. The engine note is pleasing when pushing through the rev range. Fuel economy is very good too, aided by the mild hybrid setup. It's quite interesting to watch how the hybrid battery recharges on long steep decents. I think there is a 'nack' to learning how to maximise this technology - using braking effect to recharge that hybrid battery. All in all, I am pleased to be driving the Suzy. Where I live they are not very commonplace so it makes it a touch different from the ubiquitous Nissans and Kias.

The sunroof opening is one of the largest on the market, making it perfect for people who loves convertibles but need the space of a SUV.

En que país vive usted? En EU el AWD AT cuesta 29 k€, y estoy encantado con él. En el mercado europeo no existe otro automóvil que por ese precio brinde las mismas prestaciones.

For a bit more I could get a top of the range forester or even a base model Pajero Sport. And for way way less (15K) I could get a top of the range Stonic. So weird.

@@maxd4968 You might find that the Suzuki Allgrip prestige is currently $50,946 drive away (in a colour) and the Forester S is $51,940. $994 difference is minimal when you compare what you get in these 2 vehicles. You can get a base model 4WD Pajero sport for only $52,240 ($1294 more) or a comparable (to the Suzuki) top of the range Seltos for $45,810. Clearly Suzuki isn’t interested in selling cars anymore.

Looking at the interior, it's not soft touch and stylish but it looks like its gonna stay in good nick for a long time, same as things like 10 year old plus Swifts, SX4s you see for sale. If you are gonna keep the car for a long time and its gonna have to deal with all the crap a bunch of kids are gonna throw at it its easier to understand. Plus a conventional 6spd torque converter auto in Aus spec cars (one of the euro spec cars gets a robotised manual, yuck) rather than a fragile CVT or Dual clutch. I reckon its gonna be a good car for someone who is gonna keep it a while or put on lots of kays relative to some other 'nicer' options. I like it.

I saw this review and thought it couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. As indicated if it was cheaper it would be a good contender. It's missing out on too much at that price and the quality of materials looks quite horrible.

The quality isn't good, no usb ports, etc. You can get here now for 25000€ 4WD fully loaded comfort+, but its still too much. A new CX 30 is about 26500€
