Great video! I recently picked up a 2000 RM125 and I am definitely running rich. Lots of spooge. I am trying to lean it out and was wondering if loosening my air screw would help? Loosening it more would bring more air to my knowledge but was trying to see how much to loosen it? I'm in the midwest and it's been quite hot this summer. Any recommendations on number of turns?

Hi, thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed! I’d first try doing some research on injection oil ratios. I’ve always run 32:1, which is pretty rich, but I’d rather have some spooge than a smoked engine! Best of luck.

@@backcountrybuilds I run Amsoil Dominator at 32:1! Bottle recommendation is 50:1 while Suzuki recommends 32:1. Maybe less oil would help spooge?

What state are you located in? Asking for the climate

You said a 172 was running it lean I got the same bike and I'm having the same problem so you have a 175 main jet what is your pilot jet

Hello, can anyone answer my question? the solenoid works, but I don't understand when it should do it. When activated, it closes the circuit, for what and when that is the question. I need help. Thank you

Jorge, I’m not entirely sure. But, from what I’ve read, the TPS alters the timing at different throttle openings and rpm. The solenoid valve gives the mixture extra fuel to help the carb through certain lean spots. The solenoid valves opens and closes the power jet. The power jet is the jet (beside the main and pilot) to add fuel to the mixture. The solenoid closes the power jet between 2000-3000 RPM and 9250-10500 RPM. Hope this helps.

@@backcountrybuildsThanks. I got a new carb and it didn't have one so i left it unplugged and haven't noticed a difference.

Mines been running like shit and i took the carb apart to find my jet is 170 is it possible its that i need to also swap it to a 175?

Having it slightly open should be the resting position, if I remember correctly. I think if it closed completely, the bike would stall.

It appears with some research that they’re both 38mm. As for size, they may be compatible. However, look up “RevZilla RM125 jetting, as the specs might differ.” Also not sure if the Keihin/Mikuni have different bolt patterns, but maybe worth a shot depending on the price.

From what I’ve read and heard, I believe it is a 38mm.

Kind of unnecessary taking the rear subframe off, you can push the airbox in on itself and remove only the carb.

That’s true. I always have trouble with getting the carb boot back on without the pursuasion of the subframe. Smart move though

@@backcountrybuilds its easiest to get it on the airbox, then the intake/reeds, dont tighten but rotate towards you and put the slide in. This makes it far less work, especially if you are having multiple carb issues..
