Suzuki Quad Runner 250 Frame Straightening and Repair

Ғылым және технология

Damage to the frame due to a significant impact at sometime has twisted the front suspension mounts. Rust repair to the lower rails has been completed but the misalignment of the front end needs serious attention.

What's the main reference points? The swingarm pivot and a-arm squareness to each other and location to each other?

G.day I enjoyed your video. Could you tell me by chance the wall thickness of the main frame tubes? Seems like the tube is available in 25.4mm OD with 1.6mm or 2mm wall thickness.

I think the closest I can get is probably Cold Drawn Seamless CDS, 25.4 x 1.6mm but must buy full 6m lengths here in Sydney. I will probably go with ERW steel in the same size and see how it goes. Cheers

That is what I used. Original maybe chrome moly as it has spring in it. Have you seen my earlier video replacing rotted tubes?

So after cutting out my front end including the steering support. The original tubing seems to be either 2.0mm or possibly thicker up to 2.3mm wall thickness. Ended up using ERW 1.6mm just because it was easily available. Also used 2.5mm mild steel sheet to reproduce the A-arm attach brackets.

I have salvaged a complete front frame from a parts bike which would have made my 1990 frame repair much easier. I would like to see pictures of your work.
