I am 59 years old, started riding in 1978! Had a huge amount of motorcycles, some very large very small. I have just ridden this bike 160miles in the pouring rain, brilliant! I am going to use it for commuting and fun trips around Devon and Cornwall. Your don’t need a rocket ship with all the speed camera’s around! You just need comfort and reliability with a chunk of fun, also, you want to be able to afford to actually use your bike, not just say you ride a motorcycle, while keeping in your shed/lounge. Rock on Inzuma, simply brilliant!! A fantastic secondhand purchase… Ride on.

I'm your age group (58) and I have had all the gpzs, cbrs, fzrs etc and that whole way of life has had its day now. A couple of times a year I blunder across a bloody camera trap way too late too late to slow down and think "Omg if I was on a 750 I'd be toast now". I quite fancy one of these but not sure I can live with the Mr Blobby styling. Have fun out there!

My first bike after getting my full licence. All you need in Cornwall

Of course it's up to the job. It's comfortable, it's economical (80+ mpg), will touch 90mph so can cruise at legal speeds perfectly well and you can pick a decent one up for £1500. It won't get from one set of traffic lights to the next as fast as a 600cc + machine but I won't be waiting at the next set so long! Love mine 👍

@@DannyT636 The bike fairs well with 2 up. Not much of a felt torque loss and you are maxing out at around 135 km/h indicated. Great bike for the city and 1 day rides.

I'm in the States and bought this bike on a whim because I am getting on in years and partially disabled. The easy manner of this bike is amazing. It is very comfortable on bad roads and that's great because I stick to secondary roads mostly and enjoy the countryside on it. These are very rare in the states because we have ego toward big displacement bikes. Sadly a lot of new riders drive them right off the road or into something shortly after purchase. You can make a lot of mistakes with this bike and correct them. This is the learning curve that most riders bypass to their peril. I got it brand new leftover for just $3000 USD all fees included. The dealer just wanted to get rid of it. I have come to love this unwanted duckling and would not part with it. Sometimes I have to jump on the interstates for brief exit to exit runs. It will hold 65-70 mph just fine but the little motor if really spinning on. It has nice pull for a 250 from 5000 to 10000 rpm. Only bitch I have is that the air filter is buried and a lot has to come off to get at it! What was Suzuki thinking? Otherwise very low maintenance and very reliable. Imported only a few years they are very rare here. I like that it is 3/4 full size bike and looks the part. I get a lot of waves from liter bike riders that don't know what I am on. If you don't gun it all the time, it can return really good mileage as well now that gas is back to $5 a gallon here thanks to president Brandon! Thanks for the review! Mine doesn't wobble by the way!

Who needs to learn when you can get a gsxr1000 hehe. Yep sounds like a perfect bike for your uses. We are lucky I guess in the UK that small engines bikes even 125cc work everywhere. 🙂

I bought mine in 2013. I was told I needed a 500cc or bigger. I was also told I'd be bored with this bike after a year. Nine years and 120,000km (67,000 of those miley things) later, I'm still enjoying it and having lots of fun on it commuting, touring and even going to track days. It rides brilliantly on gravel roads in NZ and I go places where bigger bikers wouldn't go. It's a great, comfy tourer (yeah it's a small country). I just can't reason why I would want to go bigger when I can have two of these for the price of a bigger bike.

@@zuone3573 Now about 130,000km. Only replaced the exhaust pipes and the usual cogs, chain, brake disc's and pads, etc. No overhaul needed. The bike sits outside too.

@@garygibson7766 jeez its not hard mate. It may astonish you that people successfully learn entire languages that aren't their own.

Suzuki modeled it's looks on the B-King. It's very popular in countries like Pakistan, Indonesia and Colombia. The fact it is just over 180 kgs wet, gives it an added stability. The added bonus is that it is a a parallel twin, so it has a little more torque than a single cylinder 250cc bike. Suzuki stopped selling them in Europe and other first World countries, because they didn't want to add on the cost of adding ABS to this bike. It's a good Learner bike and a first rate commuter. And it has that Suzuki engineering quality to it.

This bike in aegis variant became the standard bike for police in Pakistan I love seeing these and hopefully I'll buy aegis, affordable reliable get the job done and fun to ride

When you get older an accept you are not immortal - a 250 is all you need. Also - the most fun i have had on the bikes i have owned, has been on a 250 hyosung gt250 - brilliant maschine.. Light easy to handle, more than ample power in the great little v2 engine (a nightmare to get serviced and get parts though), and allthough I at that time, had an Suzuki 750 with 3 times the power, the little hyusong was the bike of choice. My next bike purchase will be the old Yamaha M3 with the 660 engine - with only 45 hp.. More than enough... No need to make fun of small bikes, and call it a "commuter" - it makes a person sound less intelligent ..

Bought a 250f last year, 2015 with 8k on the clock. Aftermarket 2 into1 exhaust and a bigger screen have made it a belting commuter. Changed the rear sprocket to 41 teeth and it does 70mph on just over 8k revs. It's a cracking comfortable bike that goes bloody well with bugger all vibration. I'm 54 years old and I ride it like I stole it. Having so much fun on it

This was my first brand new bike and first big bike after getting my A2 and I absolutely loved it! Sad I got rid of it now, but had lots of fuel injector and sensor issues the day after it came out of warranty. This brought back great memories

I think some people are very strange because they compare stuff like this and they go 'oh why didn't you get this because it's faster' but then when people go to buy a car and they spend £5k on an economical hatchback rather than buying a V6 Audi TT or something nobody says a word. And the reason for that is because people understand that comparing those two cars makes very little sense. But then they can't see that comparing this kind of bike to a Ninja 400 for example isn't also a very strange comparison to make too.

This bike reminds me of the machines that were about when I started riding in the 1970's ... Honda CB250N, Yamaha RD250 etc. They were popular then because of the licensing laws at the time, you could ride up to a 250cc on 'L' plates. Progression in those days (funds permitting) was: Sports Moped, 250cc, then a 'big' bike. In an ideal world, I would of started on a Yamaha FS1E, then a Kawasaki KH250, then on to a Suzuki GT750 ... but it never happened. I struggle to think why anyone would go for the Suzuki Inazuma 250cc (in the UK) now, surely a mid range maxi scooter would be better. Anyway, thanks for a great review, which for some of us older watchers, was a trip down memory lane!

Maxi scooters are comfortable but a pain to service ,it can take hours to get all the layers of plastic off without damaging it .Motorcycle shops will flog you one but are non too keen on servicing them or taking them as a trade in for a fair price .They hope the next machine you chose will be a bike the larger & more expensive the better ..On the continent things are different ,they have a different prospective on scooters ,they only place in the U.K. they seem anywhere near as popular as motorcycles is in London or for slow deliveries of fast food .

Yea a 250 should def. be enough there. You can survive on a 250 in the States. I'm heavy as fuck but I can hit like 75 on my wife's 250 aircooled nighthawk (which is on the slower side of 250's), and that's really all you need for highways. May not be fast lane worthy, but it's slow lane worthy. This reminds me a bit of the CB300, which may have a bit more grunt while still being license compatible for new riders.

Cheers for sharing your viewpoint! See this bike a fair bit round the roads here in Hong Kong, seems pretty popular with the food delivery drivers.

Nice review and for me quite timely as one of these has recently come up for sale in Gibraltar, I'd never heard of this model before and the 250cc bracket is becoming of more interest to me. On the subject of the suspention maybe some heavier fork oil would stiffen up the front and maybe some Hagon shocks for the rear, just depends what the individual rider makes of the handling and if they can be bothered to make the investment in the changes, nice job, thanks for posting.

I passed my test in 2018 started on gsxr 600 I've owned loads of bikes always been a big Suzuki and yam fan I got myself an inazuma 250 to get to work on and I ended up using every day for a year even tho I had gsxs 1000 and crf250l at home 😂 I absolutely loved it nothing better then feeling like Rossi at 80 mph 😂

I was at that roundabout this week, doing some work in the meridian center. Going to pop to the island next week for a little day trip, would be great to see you!!

I used one of these when I did the BRC in 2017, as they didn’t have any dual sports. It was such a fun little bike to do the exercises on.

Most excellent sir! This is one of those older bikes I considered... Bit weirdly and for reasons I can't explain, it really messed up my old back injury (disc and facet joints buggered in lumbar). Had the same issue with the V Strom 250... Bit they're both great bikes and good engines! Ahhh the yellow box trespassers... Often the same types of car and weirdly a high incidence of private numberplate owners (who are also guilty of : tailgating, speeding, failing to indicate, pulling out, dangerous overtakes or being so ridiculously underconfident they shouldn't be allowed on the road! Rant over... Awesome vid again!

Ive had mine a year now as a commuter / winter bike its a great bike . When i get on my 1100 gsxr it feels like a rocket ship lol. If you need a commuter or everyday bike get one you will not regret it . Black Widow exhausts makes it sound better but no extra speed lol/

I have one and an FZ1 and I prefer to use this like 80% of the time. It's super easy to ride just has quite a bit of engine braking which might catch some people off guard. For the economy this gives though I'd rather get a CB 500 instead, more power and basically the same economy. My one also does that tank slappery thing it was the top box causing it for me.

Ooooh, that wobble is due to a worn front tire. I had it on my Yamaha Tracer 900 when my tire was shoot. Big thanks"Spicy110"!!

I leave that tesco to join the a27 east and you're right it's a massive pet peeve watching them jump the queue to then cut off to the left lane, I always have to give room since it's usually half way through the right turn as well

YUP!!

You can go over the double white lines in the uk if it is safe to do so and the vehicle you are passing is doing no more than 10mph eg.a road sweeper.

Is it reliable and are the parts easy to find?

03:20 I was going to say all the decent 250's when I was growing up had 2into2 exhausts! GT250/X7, RD250E/LC and my favourite, a CB250N Super Dream, then I remembered I had a KH250 😄and even my despatch rider bikes were CB250RS that were single cylinder bikes with 2 exhausts! Suzie looks nice but also looks smaller than the 250's of my day.

@@spicy110 The CB250RS had a four valve head and each exhaust pipe served one exhaust valve, which gave more performance over a 2 exhaust valve sharing a single pipe. The performance increase, using this method, was well known since the late 1920's, when Rudge invented and introduced 4 valve RFVC cylinder heads. The 1938 Rudge 250 Rapide (the company's last model) was capable of 95 MPH with a 2 valve single pipe hemi-head and 107 MPH with a RFVC 4 valve twin pipe head. This was the world's first 100 MPH+ capable 250cc street bike (and it was a 4 stroke). Bike Magazine called the Honda CB250RS, "Honda's official apology for the marketing CB250N Superdream" (AKA "The Wet Dream", "The Super Slug", "The Gutless Wonder", "The Side Street Sleeper", etc.).

@@CZ350tuner I had two Super Dreams and two RS's, I preferred the Super Dream, about the same performance but bigger and more comfortable anywhere but town.

I have a 2007 BMW f800s that's an absolutely awesome commuter bike, will easily do motorway speeds and more if needed, really reliable, comfy and a massive plus is it costs £15 to fill and does a minimum of 200 miles on that. 😁 Hard bikes to find though.

The handlebar shimmy, at 7:40, is caused by the suspension damping oil being too low a weight, most likely the front forks. Chances are it only has 5W or 10W in the forks, when it should have 15W (or 20W if one is "big boned").

I got my a2 about two years ago, got a bandit 600, rode it for those two years. Not bad but too heavy and had me feeling unconfident when cornering, drank fuel like a 600 with the performance of a 300 . Ended up selling it for a g310r for of the fuel economy and the super light frame for commuting to work and haven't looked back since

Been using one of these as a commuter for 4 years now. Mine has that handlebar shake too

Yup, the double white lines is an interesting one as there's perhaps more to it than some people think. Section 129 of the Highway Code states: "You MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. "You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph or less." So, not a peloton or a galloping horse (yes I've seen one on tarmac) going at speed. And while most bikers might not consider their machines are wider than their tyres, a policeman or a court might decide otherwise. I asked a senior policeman on a course recently what the view would be if you crossed a double white passing say a queue (how long is a piece of string?) of stationary cars ahead of traffic lights. Nothing specifically as an example of that in the Highway Code but he felt that would be frowned upon...

For some reason, uploader mentioned India as one of the places where the Inazuma is / (was?) popular. In fact, Indians *hated the bike* when it was released about 10 years ago, for reasons I will not discuss here. But I do remember seeing one in a Suzuki showroom back in 2017 in my country, Mexico, and it was the black one shown here. It was I believe the last time I saw a brand new Inazuma. I keep looking for a pre-owned one in good condition, but sadly the motorcycle was used and abused here like you have no idea. Yes, I think a decent 'Zuma would do the job for me.

Hi Spicy what are thought on hot weather gear? I notice you are full leather in 28 degrees. I do air jacket and light jeans when its hot cos my biker jeans and leather jacket are unbearable in the hot weather.

I use the same gear all year round, so it's not great in summer but also not too bad. I just have enough damage to me as is I want all the protection I can get haha

Re traffic congestion, house building etc - expect a lot more of both with the rate the population's rocketing. Three million minimum coming from Hong Kong (approximately 17,000 a MONTH) - some estimates say it'll be double. Glad I've got a bike.

its biggest pluses ..soft ride, smooth gear shifts, nice purr, economical, plenty of legal power, fairly light to manoeuvre.,does not look like a small 250, design style, well built, big tyres.

In Pakistan Suzuki introduced aegis varient. Which is basically designed for police

They're pretty popular in Argentina.

I don't know about this one, but little bikes are great fun. If CBT bikes were this size, learning would be less intimidating for the less confident. Plus, filtering across a double white is always legal when traffic is stopped or causing an obstruction.

@@spicy110 on my CBT course, we were over taken up hill on a dual carriageway by an HGV, because the CB125s couldn't hold anything over 50. It was unsettling for me, but one of the guys doing it with me said that put him off riding. Even on the CBR125R I got afterwards, joining highspeed traffic was iffy. Having twice the torque gets you to parity or better with almost all traffic.

Ok I get the angle you are coming from, I thought you meant like nervous riders.

The biggest minuses of this bike..no longer available, no anti skid brakes(ABS), rather rattily top end which is eliminated with ear plugs or cotton wool.

It will do the job better than a bicycle by far. ;)

Ive just gone from a CBF600 to a Zontes Phantom S25

My 50cc Malaguti Olympique moped had twin exhaust. Back in 1978 . But no breaks? Ok some breaks .

I live in Indonesia, I put over 50k miles on that bike. satisfied? u bet

Personally I find small displacement bikes a lot of fun, but between the corner wollow and the head shake I’d have to give this one a pass 😱. It would get returned with a big “bite mark” out of the seat from my arse 🤪.

I fee Suzuki as a brand are lost at present. The GSXR 1000 is probably the only icon they have and even that is being left behind. It’s best bike is the GSXR 125 - which says a lot ! Someone at Suzuki needs to really relaunch the whole brand with a completely new and modernised line up

Left behind? I think you forget which portion of the market Suzuki cater to which have been forgotten by the rest of the big 4: broke people. The cheapest hypernaked you can buy is a Suzuki, and it's a damn good one. The cheapest A2 sportsbike is a Suzuki. While it isn't a great one, it will last forever, sip fuel and it has 2 cylinders so it doesn't sound crap. They save on R&D costs so people can actually see themselves owning one. That attainability builds brand loyalty early on. It's why Suzuki are always selling the bikes, even if said bikes make no sense.

Look at Suzuki financials and share position and you will see why. They are about 7% global which is 1/2 the size of their next largest competitor and appear to be shrinking in developed markets. They seem to focus now more in maintaining or growing in third world countries. They can compete on price in those low end markets and not have to spend a lot on R&D on new technologies by building decent quality econobikes. I appreciate Suzuki's value for the dollar but they are clearly falling hopelessly behind other manufacturers in offering a full line of products and progression by which more affluent riders can remain brand loyal and still step-up in level of quality, performance, and features. I predict within next 10 years they may be forced to withdraw for U.S. market. Most dealers in U.S. carry multiple brands and for Suzuki they may stock one or two each of 4 or 5 models such as DR650, DRZ400, VStrom 650, SV650, VStrom 1050, GSXR1000

@@CheapskateMotorsports That strategy you suggest Suzuki uses is the same as entry level strategy for most vehicle manufacturers into new markets but they soon realize they must move up the progression to keep those loyal to their brand happy as they eventually have more money in their pocket. If not they lose them to another manufacturer who ends up making higher margins. If as a matter of strategy you cater to the El Cheapos or as you describe broke people of the world you eventually stagnate into mediocrity and shrink or die.

Why do you have blue bits on the thumb and fingers on your gloves, maybe it was the heat on the camera.

Well i missed this review.i have one, since march after a good 8-9yr break from riding ( not planned theft of bike and then there was the insurance thieves to deal with still writhing, children, divorce, blah blah). For what i paid could have had so many more, 600,1200, 1400,but why, ive done my riding like a divi whilst invincible and young and on huge bikes, and i am still here,thankfully. I looked at so many, and wow there are so many Chinese blanks, yes iknow its Chinese built,so i decided, size ( i know its hefty, can be reduced, economy, ease of repairs ( fix my own) ease of parts, someone doing free delivery, to me and a drunk phone call to deposit. ( dutch courage , missis ,etc) Yes i would have liked a little more oomph, however on twistys when im scraping my boots on both sides i really dont care about the big stuff. Much more usable, chuckit around, not overly concerned if i scratch it ( i still try not too). I'm at a time in life that i can reflect on my riding abilities over the years and its not about the bike anymore,it's about the ride and the smiles you have no one else knows about. And filtering is #iss easy. Keeping this one even if i get something more chucky later down the line.Thank you for reviewing an old bike thats still a lot of fun.

@@spicy110 cheap is relative. There are much better machines that one could choose at the 2-3 grand second hand market even if you just wanted basic transport an sh300 Honda would offer more than this with storage and weather protection.

I just had a look and apart from the SH300 being a scooter they are also selling for over 3k, you can pick up inazuma's around 2k so I will stand by what I said
