That made me smile and brought back a memory of a wheelie. I was just 16 on a Suzuki AP 50 moped. ( they could do 52 mph ). It was brand new, I’d saved up for it against my parents wishes and was my first time out on it. I’d never ridden anything before and surprisingly got a road junction without falling off. I had an escort of 3 of my moped friends acting as outriders. I gave it too much gas at the junction and went across it on one wheel. It must have looked really impressive as my friends were impressed but I actually shit myself near enough. Of course it was intentional when asked but despite requests I didn’t do it again. Looking back I don’t know how I survived, but fortunately lived to tell the tale and 47 years later I’m still on a bike. No I still don’t want to do a wheelie.

Your first three points apply to ANY bike. As regards power, you and only you are responsible for how you use it. Do those fortunate enough to drive Bugatti's, Ferrari's and the like feel obliged to drive full throttle everywhere, everytime they take them out? I like to think it's called being responsible. As for these bikes having a finite life span, I think you'll be waiting a long time. The bike being tested is powerful, has a inline-4 and has not long been introduced. Do you think, perhaps, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda are wise to something we're unaware of regarding market forces? How about Triumph and their range of inline-3s, are they going the way of the dodo too?

You appear to state that I-4s are done but anything less has a stay of execution. I cannot see how the number of cylinders an engine has will determine its fate. If the I-4 has had its day, then surely every I.C.E regardless of configuration or number of cylinders must also be marked for termination. Kawasaki are imminently to offer a ZX-4 sports bike for the Asian and, most very likely, European markets. It possesses a 400cc inline-4, is DOHC and has 16V.
