Suzuki DRZ400 - Best Bars and Pegs for the Money!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I search for and test the cheapest, best 7/8 (SE) Protaper bars for the DRZ400. I settle on the KX Highs, and ATV Mids for testing:
www.rockymountainatvmc.com/rm...
$62.99 Shipped + Tax
For Pegs, I settled on some Suzuki RM250 stock pegs for $20 on Ebay.

    @@CTGromer after hassling to make the old springs from the original pegs work, I am curious if you are the seller on ebay for these RM250 pegs you are suggesting as a replacement for DRZ owners...? I just "figured" out how the old springs do NOT work amazingly well with the new pegs since as you know, they are fitted differently in both dimension and alignment. For all your followers, the stock pegs have a notch for the bent tail of the spring, while the RM's pegs need the tail straight to feed into a hole in the peg. And since the pegs are wider than stock, they require some adjustment to align them with that darn old spring. Those springs, even when heated up will get brittle during the struggle to get them to fit...until you need new springs, maybe off the RM250 OEM stock list. So, thanks for the lesson to avoid vloggers that skip steps so I don't get finagled on a simple mod.

    @@goaliemojo4310 Clearly you're frustrated, and I am sorry to hear you've had such a hard time with installing those pegs. I am not the seller of the pegs, or ANY products I review, nor do I get paid to review these products. In fact, my only source of income on this channel is Google Adsense, and occasionally using an Amazon Associates account. I Make significantly below minimum wage for the time I put into these videos. All I am is a "vlogger" bud, I'm not a professional. I was able to use the OEM Drz S springs successfully without heating them or modifying them. In retrospect, purchasing RM250 Stock peg springs with probably a good idea, I never explored it because I didn't need them. These RM250 pegs are still WAAY cheaper than any other quality aftermarket peg out there. Sorry you're struggling with it, but there's no need to lash out at me friend.

    Thanks for the video! It looks like those KX highs are “swept up” a little more than the straight stock handlebars, but not as much as the mids as you stated in your video.Even though the KX highs are not swept back, did you notice the upward sweep of those KX highs on your wrist at all when you stand on the pegs? Negligible? It looks like you had to accept the slightly “swept up” disadvantage of the KX highs to lose the “swept back” of the stock bars? I guess nobody makes an aftermarket bar that doesn’t sweep up and sweep back but still gives a 1-2 inch rise?Thanks.

  • @CTGromer

    The KX highs dont feel swept upwards like the ATV mids do. They seem and feel pretty flat, I like them overall. If anything I'd like to install some risers to get them just a little higher yet.

    Hi Miquel, I filed down the tabs on the controls, used electrical tape for the remaining bit of tab to get a slight bite on the bars, and left it that way. It's worked perfectly. Thanks for commenting!

    So what was the problem with the controls not sitting in the holes on the bars?

  • @CTGromer

    @CTGromer

    2 жыл бұрын

    The stock bars have holes drilled so that the controls (which have a small round metal tab on each one) on each side of the bars "click" into the holes and won't move side to side or spin. I didn't want to perfectly measure and re-drill the holes, so I just put the electric tape on so that those tabs could bite on something and not spin freely.
