Susquehanna River Monster of 1878

Ойын-сауық

At the start of the Yellow Fever Epidemic in the Spring of 1878, Wrightsville and Columbia Pennsylvania residents would find themselves focused on the waters of the Susquehanna River that separates their towns. Reports of a strange creature surfacing from this ancient river brought both towns and the entire Susquehanna River Valley into a frenzy.

This is great I love your darker themed historical videos! They are entertaining but yet still historically accurate.

You make amazing videos brother, its fascinating to watch how you put it all together. I mean, literally fascinating. Such craftsmanship, I find myself studying, rewinding, reviewing, but still amazed at how you put forth this compelling documentary style. Its great content!

I've lived my whole life within a few minutes of Wrightsville and Hellam, so I'm really glad that I just found your channel! I've never heard this story, very interesting. I cross the 462 bridge over the river everyday to get to work and will definitely think about this now lol

It was the little statue of Liberty 🗽 now a pedestal in the middle of the river off US RT22.

No I didn't but it kind of matches one of the petroglyphs on the rocks further south.

Oh, that was a cool account! I never heard of this story. So there is always someone that wants to kill the thing. Gosh! But this reminds me of stories of other countries that sees this big eel looking fish from deep in the sea. That only shows up before some kind if disaster that arriving to the earth.

Haha yeah that's what I was thinking. Someone had to take a shot at it. Definitely strange that these things happen around disasters.
