Rafael B. It all depends. For me, this film was incredibly unsettling. The standard scares aren’t there, but there are several sequences of gruesome imagery that will be burned into your brain forever.

The way this scene is edited is what's so great about cinema. I just love how at 0:37 you can already hear her jumping but the close up to madam Blanc's chest makes it sound like a heart beating. Also after, the last hand gesture lifting Suzie up. Amazing.

There is something so special and sensual about this scene. Its NY favorite in the film. The way you hear her breathing and the music. It seems so sensual and sexual. I can't describe it xxx

This scene, the music, ugh and what comes after. Seen this twice in theaters already. It's lingering with me.

@@adam-ll1yf Yeah the night I saw this I had haunting dreams about it. I wouldn't even call it a nightmare because I didn't feel fear but it was pretty gory and weird.

Kevin Clark same here. I drove the same exact amount of time to go to Bakersfield from Fresno. I also drove to LA for the premiere. Such a great film. I wish it was out for everyone to see.

Saw it last night... LOVED IT!!! In fact my personal opinion is that it was better than the original film.

This is easily one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. The music, the cryptic storyline that makes you want to watch over and over and *spoiler* just the romance between Susie and madame blanc I find to be the most compelling (although I can’t say it’s lesbian but more so admiration for one another). The dancing itself is just so violent and beautiful at once. Ugh I love it.

It's not admiration. It's maternal love. It is one of the core themes in this film.

I can only watch this film now by watching these short clips being released, because only one theater in my state will actually be playing this movie for one night on the 16th and it's 78 miles away...

I want Suspiria to be shown in the Philippines.

Spoiler Alert, don’t read if you don’t want spoilers: I have some questions about Miss Griffith, the witch with the glasses on played by French actress Sylvie Testud. her name is the same as Dakota Johnson’s mother’s surname Melanie Griffith. She is seen constantly crying in her small role and seemingly feels sorry for the victims before they are taken. Miss Griffith suddenly commits suicide at the table and surprises the other witches. Mother suspirium is called the mother of sorrows. When Susie starts the film she seems like a naive, though talented and skilled dancer from Ohio. After Miss Griffith’s suicide, Susie begins to seem witch like: she can telepathically communicate with Madame Blanc and has dark dreams as well a knowledge of what is happening. After Susie kills Markel and her followers, and sorrowfully asks the 3 girls their wishes, miss Tanner sits in the chair that Miss Griffith sat in, perhaps a suggestion that she is now sitting and following the correct mother of sorrows? Did Miss Griffith have a larger role or was she one of the three mothers? Could she have killed herself and inhabited Susie? It seems like there are some clues that she is an important character.

I thought she was just a humanizing element to the group. The first time we see her crying is after Olga's rant and just before Blanc "anoints" Susie's limbs. She knows Olga is about to meet a terrible fate. She's the only witch that is subdued throughout and seems to be experiencing genuine remorse/regret for her part. Remember, an important theme of the film is shame and guilt, whether it be the holocaust or the personal shame of the psychiatrist for letting his wife down. Miss Griffith was probably meant to a) show that the witches are not evil caricatures but real human beings and b) represent the guilty conscience of the coven.

There is so much to this film I need explaining lol I'm in love with it but I don't understand it fully. What were the young dancers being used for? To sustain Markos or be used as a vessel? And what was Susie's mother's significance? Xx Xx

SPOILER... Watching the movie again... Miss Griffith didn't want to vote, saying "tout est fini". When she was forced to vote, she said "Markos". I think she knew that Mother Suspiriorum was going to be there, she realized that Markos was a fake and she couldn't stand it anymore?

We all want them to show us *that* scene 😏

It’s really not as bad as everyone made it seem. Maybe I’m just desensitized to it but I’ve seen far worse. It’s super well done and a hauntingly beautiful scene but it’s definitely not a horribly disgusting death.

Hey Amazon!!! Why The F*** is this only playing at 1 theater in Alabama and not even in the largest and most liberal city? Who makes these decisions? I was so looking forward to seeing this but now I can't. Bad move. It's almost like you don't want people to see it.

@@austinnelson626 I hope so, but it's kind of misleading to announce it as nationwide then it's only in 1 theatre in the state. I guess technically it is "nationwide" but still. This is a movie I was really looking forward to.

@@wolfpac1970 like a lot of other low-budget movies like this, they start with a limited release then go to more and more theaters. they tend to do better in the box office when they release it this way. just keep your eyes out, it'll come to a theater closer to you eventually :)

Andy Mann it’s not Amazon’s fault, the problem it’s that Amazon it’s the producer, not the distributor, that’s different, this movie doesn’t have an official distributor unlike Sony and Warner, those companies can be both the producer and the distributor for the movie, but with movies like this a distributor has to come and select the movie in order to play in theaters. I live in Mexico and it’s gonna premiere until January. It really sucks.

I don't quite know what it is about this film. First time I watched it I didn't care too much for it especially the gory crescendo near its end, but found myself thinking about a lot. Maybe its the soundtrack and sound design, the cinematography and the deeper subtext but many of these scenes have just stuck with me and after subsequent viewings has become one of my favourite horror films

ughh i wanna watch this movie so bad, the nearest cinema is only like 5 minutes away but sadly my country doesnt allow people under 16 to watch it
