Olga deserves a shout-out for her flawless execution of this scene.
The Olga scene was a body horror masterpiece.

Yes, it is a gorgeous movie. Too bad the writing is awful, the gory climax unintentionally funny, and the whole thing doesn't bring anything interesting...
@MemphisFloyd

@@SCharlesDennicon I haven't heard or read an interview with Guadagnino that touches on it, so I don't know his intent, but the climax is so over-the-top I assumed the humor was intentional. It tips over into such ludicrousness, how could it not be? But hey, that was my reaction.

@@SCharlesDennicon exactly what I thought about the ending. The first two hours create this really twisted and satisfying build-up, the atmosphere of the movie really seeps into your brain and then the grand finale more fitting for some gory Benny Hill episode
@SCharlesDennicon

@@jwbrushpl A Benny Hill episode... :D Love it. Well, I didn't even see much of a build up. There's a sense of mystery, but the cult's storyline is dragged down by the utterly useless psychiatrist's storyline and the whole BS about nazi Germany, that is more an expression of the director's ego than a valuable addition to the original story. The only things that I enjoyed 100%, aside from the acting and the photography, are the dance sequences...

No, it doesn't...they filled everything with cheap CGI blood and that climax was beyond cringe. They fucked up everything.

Desiree there's a reason why many people don't like and can't even stomach enjoying to watch this level of violence. It's disturbing how mainstream it is now.
@_dez

Mockavel Velli the original Suspiria film and even this new cover film are not films that are considered “mainstream”. If you want to blame someone for pointless violence being “mainstream” in cinema now, Marvel, DC, and most mainstream horror/thriller flicks are your biggest culprits. Suspiria is not a movie about blood and gore, it has a story that is much more than that. Both films are works of art and true passion projects. Fans of this new film as well as the original will appreciate this movie for what it is. If you can’t appreciate the story past the surface level gore than this probably isn’t the film for you, so I’d recommend skipping this one. :)
@niccolom4556

Desiree I mean anyone that knows films and reads mainstream magazines will see reviews about this movie. In fact there's probably going to be some hype around it so I would consider that mainstream. Also Marvel movies are of course violent as well but they don't have that level of Gore. Perhaps there are deeper interpretations of Suspiria but as you've mentioned, there is that surface-level gore that is very readily apparent.
The TALENT, professionalism involved. I love this film so much.

Suspiria had something about it, similar to Black Swan, that was beautiful. Something about dance and horror - it's a little like how people become intoxicated by a serpent.

One of my favourite films. I have to see it again. I enjoyed the pacing, all of them witches, the brutality, the heartbreak... Even the ending was good - brought closure. Then the gore itself was just wild, literally covering my ears and squinting at the Olga scene and the finale.

@@MrTonyProductionz Plenty of movies do this, Donnie Darko, Enemy, Jacob's Ladder, etc. This is not new in the industry, sometimes writers prefer to present something that challenges the viewers and demand them to think deeply. That being said, I understood the movie the first time I watched it. It's definitely one of the best horror movies I've seen and I rank it up there along with the Babadook and The Wailing.
It’s mind-blowing the work out into this film. You can clearly see Luca’s passion and ambition for this film, that was realized by some very talented people. A fantastic pieces of art.

Saw this movie a few months ago in the theater. These guys are seriously talented. The textured and grotesque makeup effects job is unparallel. This film is Rich and haunting and beautiful but it's best chances at Oscar gold or definitely the makeup effects.

Its soo amazing when no use cgi, instead use latex, fake blood, makeup... looks so realistic this way, thanks for special effects team.
There really needs to be a extended version of how the Olga scene was made. But I'd love to see more BTS footage on any of these make up applications as well as the concept designs and creative decisions that were made!!

Yes! That's EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO!
I saw Suspiria when I was 7/8 years old, 2nd grade and it became deeply embedded on my psyche, the colors in particular...I got my reputation as the not quite okay girl at my 10th birthday party because it was the movie I showed. I was the lone Jewish kid at a catholic school and it solidified an entire class in their belief we killed Jesus 😂 This version was spectacular, the aesthetic was so different, antithetical even and I really enjoyed the emphasis on dance and acting. Tilda can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned and this was refreshingly different! I was skeptical considering the real estate occupied by the original in my heart but the artistry of execution of this film did not disappoint. It stands alone 🙏🏻
as for someone who hasn't get the chance to watch suspiria. this video is a torture, yet a torture that i'd very much enjoyed. so thanks but release the digital version earlier pleasee?
