Thank you very much for a beautiful reaction 🙂 This song was used in a documentary about one of Norway's greatest photographers. The name of the program was "Selvportrett" (Self Portrait), and the name of the photographer was Lene Marie Fossen. She was a close friend of Susanne. Lene Marie Fossen struggled with anorexia from a very early age, like you said, to the point where her body didn't even have enough resources to initiate puberty. She died from the disorder in 2019, at age 33. In that time she gave us a huge trove of stunning art that will never be forgotten. Thanks again, and glad påsk! Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Petra this was intense! remind me of a documentary I watch years ago on anorexia. I've always admired your strength and courage when it comes to dealing with obstacles in your life. you are living proof that one can overcome anything in life, I know the journey through life is going to be hard, but we can overcome the obstacles in our lives through love and understanding. thanks, you Petra for your words of encouragements in this video.🥰

I had bulimia from 17 after my father's suicide into my forties, along with a terrible sugar addiction. I couldn't understand how I couldn't control the addiction, but finally with great amounts of self searching and reading, came out of it. I never told anyone - too shameful. I'm not sure I would know how to help an addicted person since it took me years. But I understand completely. It's good to hear you are through it. Your reaction to this amazing video is very dear.

'Tis definitely true... There are so many health/medical issues. Some are more, unfortunate, than others. Whether health/medical issues or not, far too many think it's ok to disrespect others. At least there are those that are more respectful. Some can take it better than others, but this can also be done respectfully. It's simple to be respectful, whether verbally, physically or even silently. [HUGZ] for you, Petra.

Petra, great job! What a brilliant artist and brave woman Lene Marie Fossen was. Do you know if Susanne Sundfor wrote the song specifically about her? I'd never previously watched the video, it's harrowing but needs to be seen, even in schools. The song itself is so beautiful i mist up every time I hear it.

She was hung up on the calorie chart and stopped eating certain foods. She wanted to stop the time when she was ten years old. She did not want to grow up, and eventually stopped eating. She denied her body from starting puberty, and struggled with severe anorexia from the age of 13. For the last 7 years of her life, she ate nothing. She drank only nutritional drinks. She died at the age of 33. Then she weighed only 17 kg. The film is a raw and honest insight into her acclaimed photography and her struggle with aneroxia. In her film-project she wanted to «undress» the disease, show it in all its horror. How it is to live with it. Expose the shame, confront the disease, break its rules for survival. She always had an inner glow from which she created, regardless of adversity. She really wanted to live and when she took pictures she forgot that she was sick and felt free. In the documentary we see Lene Marie photographing refugees in Greece. She managed to see the movie before she died. Together with her parents, she decided that the film should be launched on schedule, it was important for her that her story could mean something to others and maybe help them.

No wonder you’re emotional Petra. The subject obviously hit home & well done on two fronts. Firstly to talk about your struggles & secondly to react to this particularly poignant video. Also, I agree with comments from Mark Grant regarding Amira Willighagen. You were super I pressed with her singing Gabriella’s Song, but never followed up. This was over 2 years ago & im sure you would enjoy any of her performances. Amira is now 19 & is not only the best young Soprano on the planet, she is a beautiful human being & you’re missing out big time. Please see what you can do to put her back on your reaction listing. Cheers Graeme. ps. Try ‘’Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church ‘’ at age 11 for starters.
