Survivorman | Wild Harvest | Season 1 | Episode 1 | Mussels & Wild Radish | Les Stroud
Ойын-сауық
Yet another beautiful episode of Les Stroud's Wild Harvest! Let Les Stroud take you out into the wilds or simply your own backyard to discover the wonderful wild edibles waiting to be harvested and enjoyed. Then join Chef Paul Rogalski in the kitchen or over the fire as he shows you just what to do with dandelion, fireweed, spruce tips, cedar buds, matsutake mushrooms, horsetail, acorns, madrone berries and so much more! The locations and the plant and food imagery is stunning and brought to life by filmmaker Kevin Kossowan.

I've been waiting on these for a long time. We don't get the episodes here in Texas on PBS as I'm sure many other people will comment. I've been a fan of Les Stroud for many many years, and all is wanted him to do a program on this after watching him eat all the stuff he does in the wild on Survivorman. After seeing this, it's everything I thought it would be and more.

Same here been watching Stroud for at least a decade now. This series is actually pretty cool. I've mulled over the idea of wild foraging in the past and this show has inspired me to get more into it.

You need to download a VPN and set your location to Canada. I got the error it wasnt available in my country (US also) and was super disappointed and gave that a try since thats where Les is from and it works!!

I’m with you Lupe! I been dying to see more Survivorman but cable tv is expensive where I’m at. Or at least not worth it.

They stopped this series now that it's about to be August. I wanted them to keep playing it on my PBS.😕 I miss it.😟 I love this show! 😀
I really really enjoyed this! I’m a pastry chef and the fact that you showed the trial and error of these new ingredients is such a valuable lesson for everyone watching. I want to see more of this!
Im doing my best to transition into wild harvest, knowing you solely as survivorman The nature filming in the show brings tears to my eyes I’ve been raised on fast food and processed foods,so seeing the meals prepared, makes me wish I could be there to experience them. I’m honored to experience the both of you. Pure serenity for the soul
"It's not about getting it before it's gone... they'll be there again." Powerful and I love it.

I remember when I was 14 watching survivormans videos with my parents almost every week. Now I am 20 and I still love watching les strouds adventures around the world. As a fellow Canadian Les brings out the best in all of us and makes us reconnect with Mother Nature. Les stroud is a straight beauty. Idea : Comic of Les strouds most famous quotes with funny pictures ex: when he makes a flamethrower from the air balloon in Africa

I'm 49 years oldI I've been watching Les from the start 1999 2000 Survivorman was born he's the best also he doesn't fake things that's left for U all know who I'm thinking of Smh . . . . BTW does anyone know how's Login doing 🤔 he did have cancer ,but he faced that and beat that.
Being a native Oregonian watching this gives me something to get out and try... that all looked amazing... thanks Les.... Respect from Junction City, Oregon
Absolutely love that he mentioned Kevin. True camera man style. Hopefully What an amazing looking dish. Cheers.
CAN'T WAIT FOR NEW SEASON OF WILD HARVEST!
Mr. Rogalski, you sir are an artist. You have done true justice to my home state. Thank you Mr. Stroud for doing this, I appreciate the sentiment on harvesting just what you need and sharing. Well done sirs, well done. Thank you.
I love watching and learning from Les, but the way "Paul" talks about his cooking just allows me to almost taste every bit of the food he talks about. This was a very unique and lovely addition to the Survivor man collections. Music, survival, cooking..A bit of bigfoot hunting just wow...well done sir!!!

You said exactly what I felt but didn't know how to articulate. Thank you ❤
I'm not sure which I envy more. The ability to just go out and pick some random thing to eat, or the ability to take a few tastes, and be able to throw something together. So many people forget, presentation is almost as important as flavor.
Started my own journey of hunting and foraging wild mushrooms. There really is a special, beautiful connection that can be made only by meeting with these organisms in their homes, out in the woods
What a beautiful story, woven with respect for the land and the sea. And something I share, love of the wild plants and flowers. Celebrated, adored, brought into our bodies with gratitude, blessing their natural habitat. What a beautiful person is Paul, so sensitive to all aspects. And you, Les, the conduit, the master storyteller, weaving a beautiful story fabric. Thank you so much. ❤

So great to see Les out there again. I lived on Survivorman for years.
I've absolutely have missed U Les U don't know it ,but I've been with U from the beginning ,back in 99 2000. Survivorman not a TV show sure we can call it that for me it's always been a teaching tool 👍👍 Les I hope Login is healthy and doing good Login must be 24 years old now 🤔
I havent been able to find this at all on the channels and subs i pay for. Thank you so much for finally making this available. I kept seeing it in ads before release and was so disappointed when I couldnt find it anywhere! Thx Les!
No other shows in tv history compares to survivor man Les Stroud my mentor .Wish I could meet you someday
Seeing you boys by a campfire makes my soul smile.
I'm really glad this series has gained some notoriety finally. I watched it when it first came out and i've been hooked on foraging ever since, hope a third season is on the way!
I live in Texas and we DO get this show on PBS!! I LOVE this. I learned how to forage while living in Alaska . Nothing better than wild food.
I can see it in les shords eyes lol. He wanted the second bowl. 🥣

Very relaxing show to watch before going to sleep.
I love how you are honest with him
I loved seeing that wild otter!
Les, I just wanted to drop a "thank you" to you and Paul. I FINALLY got both the season 1 DVD & the Cookbook got delivered to my door today.😁👌 Of course due to pandemic issues I'm sure, it took 8 months, but your "soon" comment did come true. My level of trust and interests in what you say on and off camera went up a few more ticks today.👌👀 Looking forward to see what new stuff you come up with on all fronts hopefully soon. Best to You, Mike W.👍
This production takes knowledge, manpower and wherewithal but I'd say for all the years Les has given us a view of his world thru his lens and education, he has paid his dues and deserves being cooked for at this level, to be filmed by a crew so he can enjoy the deserved fruits of his labor.
Mr. Stroud, I'm so happy I found these. I'm a big fan of your work previously and this is icing on top of the cake
Cinematography is out of this world.
Les, I think you have a real winner here !! Happy for you man and your family 😊
Wow there's some beautiful imagery in this episode!
Les⛰ Stroud ... 🌱EVOLVING the Entertainment Industry with Morals/Morels! 👏✊🏽👍🤘 Thank You✌🏽💝🙏🏽
I'm getting an emotional and spiritual connection. It feels good.
YESSS!!! Thank you, Les! The cinematography is STUNNING! Amazing work!
Come on man. This is the absolute best, I found these after re-watching Survivorman series and I think this is your best work sir. Well produced, educational and a pure escape to watch as well as giving informative ideas to put into my own cooking
The camera work is outstanding. Beautiful scenes
I cannot express how much I love these.
I guess I'm feeling your sincerity and passion in what you do. Great job Les. Oorah!
The ending of this episode was really beautiful Les. This show brings me a level of joy I can't quite describe, and I'm saying that as a lifelong fan of you work. Really wonderfully done.
this is the best cooking show of all time!
I so happy you put up a full episode. I can't get the show on my TV.
Les, thanks for being an inspiration for millions of people for years & years now!! 🙌
What?! Didn’t know about this series! Glad I clicked on to the 2024 Les Stroud video
Paul nailed it. No two ways about it.
Les, I really enjoyed your Survival series, but this Wild Harvest I love -- you are talking about that with such love, passion and genuine joy. I'm so happy you have places and friends to share with, and I'm as always amazed of your generosity and big, big heart that makes you share this with us. Enjoy and take care!
Im smitten by this series. It is a work of art.
I cannot begin to explain how much I cherish these episodes.
Hey Les, will the entire season 1 become watchable on your KZread channel? I want to binge now.... LOLOLOLOL great show!

We love you Les Stroud!
I hadn't realized that I didn't watch this episode. I'm so excited?
Yet another inspiring Episode, great chef meets Les Stroud. Continue our journey of foraging, best with advice from yourself or a fellow local chef. I can imagine what fab tastes you experienced from the sea line has to offer. Nice to see a relaxing, thought provoking show. Compliments to Chef Paul Rogalski. Nice to see Mr Stroud making rockie mistakes, we all do them! Lifting a smile. Thank you
Not only was this educational in multiple facets, you said just the tip 😆. You win.
Great episode. Beautiful location.
I've missed watching you on TV lol. New stuff anyways lol this is great, glad to see you are still doing well. You taught me a lot when I was younger and really got me into bushcraft and the outdoors more. Thankful for that! It can be creepy at night though and thanks to the 411 series about missing people in the woods , it just gets you thinking when your out alone some nights. It's been amazing exploring more of Ontario over the years, really made me realize how much of the province is just wilderness that's practically humanless and I can't wait to move there lol. 😀
Tysm Les & Paul for wild harvest
Reminds me of the dinner scene with Captain Nemo's table. Where he says that everything there is from the sea.
Ive seen all survivormans and big foot series. Been holding off on Wild Harvest. So glad I cam here today.
This earned a sub from me! One of my favourite components of the Survivorman adventures was when Les would forage wild edibles and explain them on cam. Beautifully shot and I look forward to more episodes!

To be clear, this is NOT "survival"! It isn't even bushcraft. It's wild harvesting for FOODIES.
I did not know you were adding your wild harvest episodes to KZread. Im pumped!!
Thank you soooo much for posting this series!!! I LOVE it!
Such a great show!!! Have watched and re-watched Les' Survivorman show many times, it was so instrumental in my early journey discovering the outdoors, so cool to see him bring a totally unique and fresh facet of being outside to a show. Awesome!!!
Good morning brothers and sisters around the world 🌎
What a great series. I love how you summed it all up at the end. Educational, with beautiful footage. Thank you for this!
Jeez Les, the years keep going and you keep producing great material. I'm gonna love this series. Thanks for the good watching!

I rewatch ray mears wild britan alot.
As a native Oregonian, I always enjoy seeing the episodes in Oregon. Mussels are one of my favorite shore foods. My wife and I have collected them numerous times. Often the key is watching for the super low negative tides. They allow you to get to areas where they are often hidden. There is definitely a sweet spot in the size tho. Too small and it is a waste of time. Too big and they just aren't as good. Ones in the 4-6 inch range are really good. The wild radish was a new one for me. It is always nice finding info on edibles I hadn't known about.
This was such a beautiful episode, so comforting, like a lullaby. The whooshing of the ocean, the harvesting, and the cooking was all so pleasant.
Yay! I didn't have access to the show yet, you just made my day!
I'm incredibly excited for this series! Been learnin my trees!
Thank you for always giving Friday another reason to be my favorite day of the week
Les you are one of the greats!
Les, do you have a special place in your heart for Oregon and the PNW?
Liked he show! I especially enjoyed the composition of the music. Thanks Survivorman for sharing!
YES!!! I was hoping I’d get to see this. We don’t get the show in Texas on PBS

Same here. Our PBS station does not carry it either.
Les Stroud is allergic to bad content. From survival to Bigfoot to harvesting. It's always entertaining, educational, and dare I say addictive. Speaking of addiction, I'm in serious withdraw for more Bigfoot investigations...
I could just sit and watch those waves for hours.
This looks truly rewarding Les.
Man I'm so thrilled to come across this new series, Wild Harvest!! Les Stroud thank you for all the years of entertainment sir!
Yep I knew I would love this series. Les, thank you!
Good reminder-don’t take it all, just what you need.
Chef Paul, you are the perfect complement to Les. I feel your passion and sincerity coming through also.
That theme of the wild harvest is like the icing on the cake its hard to explain. This is all about wild edibles and how great they really can be. More so to be in the moment and really enjoy what nature has to offer us. To capture that and put it so eloquently in these video's is magical and so well done by both Les and Paul. Nicely done !
Thanks Les this is a survival tactic that I too have thought much about as a ginseng harvester and a mushroom and tree fungus forager this really can help fill in the blanks, awesome series!
Thank you for making this brother👊😎
Omg is this the whole episode?? I can't find it to watch! Thanks Les!!
I have always found harvesting stuff from the wild to be cool and intresting, but theirs never been anything I've really seen like this on the internet, thanks man vary cool
Such a great show, thank you. Having lived on the northern east coast all my life, I was told to always face the ocean when foraging. The ocean can be deadly and produce unfortunate surprises. Blessings to all
Excellent! Educational. Entertaining. Enlightening. Enjoyable. Thank you. God bless you.
Fantastic series; I am hungry for more. I love their friendship, bantering back and forth. The brutal honest is phenomenal!
What an amazing journey. Started watching this thinking it's just another outdoors cooking video. Then nature took over and les navigated the story on a journey that i did not expect. Thank you
Brilliant, I love everything about this process, creation, journey. Thank you Mr. Stroud.
Awesome, you're a legend, Les. I've been watching you on tv since I was a little kid, Survivorman and all the specials were my favorite! I live outdoorsy and love foraging and credit so much to you, you're a true hero and I'm really happy to find you on youtube and watch all of this!!!
Yes, great to see this now available!
Awesome way to enjoy the wild food with friends:) Thank you as usual
Hell yeah thanks les. I don't mess with cable tv.
Les, the legend! Great show, super beautiful blend of nature and food, they way it’s meant to be.
What a beautiful episode. Thank you for such an amazing time.
Les, I loved Survivorman and now I love Wild Harvest. Your work is amazing.
LOVE THIS!!! Just so happened I missed these when they aired on the Portland PBS affiliate. Thank you for posting
