Jake's mini-nervous breakdown was as a result of him realizing that Bruce had played him for a snitch and he had acted exactly as Bruce thought he would. When Bruce confided in Jake that he didn't have his idol, that Kellie had left with it, Bruce was counting on Jake snitching to the Rebas and Jake did just that. (Pity Bruce had disclosed to Katurah that he had lied; she would've run to the Rebas to confirm it and Bruce's plan would've worked.) When Jake realized Bruce had played him for a rat and he had acted accordingly that is what got to him. He had reduced himself to being Reba's snitch and was predictably played as such.

Perfect assessment

The giveaway for this season IMO was “If I’m not the first out, I’m winning this season”. We’ll see… buuuuuut 🤷‍♂️

I think Survivor is a reflection of America. Once upon a time Americans used to be able to work one job and afford a house and 2.5 kids easily on one salary but that ability has slowly been eroded. In the beginning of Survivor they received rice, flint, cool rewards and prizes (vehicles, phones, money) and cool rewards after challenges. Now they’ve slowly gotten rid of rice, cool rewards and outside prizes and the amount of days played and we’re just supposed to accept it. I say give me chicken and the fixings or give me death 😂 No seriously, I still can’t get over them giving them a lonely roasted chicken last week.

This was a great episode, except that tribal was boring. Bruce leaving was expected. Sorry to see him go. He was very chaotic and entertaining. If you happen to see this - HI BRUCE!

emily probably isn't getting the blowback because she's coming to those people first and being forthcoming, it's probably also how she delivers the message. like she isn't telling these people for her benefit but for theirs (to them, at least)

Yes, scones are a thing in Washington State. I’ve enjoyed many Fischer scones at the Washington State Fair.

I think it’s so funny that this comment from Jeff taught me that scones are not a staple at fairs anywhere else in the country. My from Texas significant other went crazy that we have scones & just cannot believe it! It was hilarious… the reaction of everyone is soooo funny still

Emily isn’t getting caught because everyone thinks she’s a card in there back pocket that they are secretly aligned with (besides Dee and Julie)

I love Survivor but had to laugh at the Sanctuary. Can’t they afford something better? The Turkey actually looked like a prop. Last week they had Costco rotisserie chicken. 😂

The problem with the idea that Emily needed to get Bruce out in order to work with katurah, is that it’s a super risky move that should’ve never worked. If Bruce plays his idol like he should have, Jake goes home and you have the exact same problem next week where you’re really screwed.

Well, I have found Stephen Fishbach's doppelganger!!!! Yes, none other that YOUNG ... not old... Pete Townsend, the phenomenal guitarist from the old school band ... the Who!!!! Take off Stephen's glasses and give him some longer hair!!!!! the resemblance is astonishing. I mean what do we REALLY know about Stephen? other than he is probably the kindest, truest, most loyal human to play Survivor ... add to that ... he is intelligent, humorous and a quick wit ... but ... does anyone know if he is adopted????? Maybe Pete Townsend is an uncle from his mother's side

Dee was quiet this episode.

Does anyone else think Katurah saw a shark?? That whole interaction makes so much more sense if she was afraid of what was in the water rather than the water itself. Plus the next scene transition was of a shark. (Don’t know why they would lie to us about it though)

If there was a shark there they would’ve done something. Jeff mentions the safety swimmers in the water can’t imagine they’d be doing this if there’s a shark there and no way she never mentions it to the show if there was. Most likely just traumatized from childhood about water

It is interesting they kept cutting to sharks during the episode, the entire time Austin was swimming hunting for fish I was thinking to myself “watch out, there’s sharks!” I would’ve been terrified

even if there was, most of the sharks in that area are nurse sharks and aren’t dangerous. i’m pretty sure the one that was in the scene with austin fishing was a nurse shark. the trained survivor safety swimmers would probably be comfortable in the water with them

Fishy Should of went to Emily for working so hard at making Bruce comfterable enough to not play his Idol. Personally I don't think the Reba four did much this episode. They voted out an easy target.

The other side, Bruce, Katurah, and Jake can't stop fighting and throwing each other under the bus long enough to get through one vote together. She didn't really have much to work with to pull off a move like taking out one of the Reba four.

He's the weakest social player out of his alliance, and I think the Jury will be made up of players who value social game, human connections and an underdog story more than straight up strategic prowess and blindsides. So yeah, despite being great I can definitely see Drew not getting the votes.

Katurah might be a top 5 least likable character of all time for me. She is actually horrible at the game of Survivor, very oblivious to her position in this game, and for someone’s story to be that fixated on one player is annoying to watch. I have wanted her out almost every week😂

I agree with the above comment though. Her level of fixation with Bruce was just so annoying. At this point she feels like she has won coz Bruce left first. She has no idea what's going on in the game

Sucks for drew because I do think he’ll get the Xander treatment in the end. He’s played pretty well and should beat Julie katurah and Jake and possibly Emily and Austin if just based on the game played but seems like he maybe just never had a chance this season no matter what but we’ll see if that’s truly the case

its interesting that katora irl has cut off her mum and in the game she is so fixated on her dislike for bruce. just another example of how survivor is A microcosm for life/society. as an N i know A lot of bw with similar temperaments. im sure she has her reasons for being the kind of person that finds it difficult to let bygones be bygones but its A shame when it feels like their decisions are hurting them more than helping them

I’m confused why everyone is out on Drew. He’s been the strategic mastermind. Besides some slightly less then stellar moments of jury management

As said by the know it alls, he just doesn’t seem to be perceived overtly positively, to the point where I don’t think anyone wants to give him a million dollars. I just don’t think he’s made the human connections that people like Dee, Katurah, Mama J, Emily, and Austin seem to be making. In survivor winning the game isn’t about being the best strategist, it’s about getting the votes at the end to win and strong social connections tend to win over being perceived as strategic (and even then, I think WE see but I don’t think Drew is really perceived that way on the island)

Great review, sad episode. There are few things that I dislike more in Survivor than watching people tank their game to get rid of someone they find annoying. Oh well. Congrats Reba 4 on the win🫤
