when you catch a bottle of water is best no to puncture the bottle for 60 percent of the water at least will spill when i hunt water bottels i prefer nonlethal traps that way all the water is for me try nets you can also catch tuna cans wit a good net

the greatest success that i've ever had was by following the Micaden Survive System (just google it) without a doubt the most useful preppers i've followed.

Thank you
This is cool it's the same basic mechanism as a Mangonel, french catapult, I suspect you could scale this up and even use trees or samplings instead of the posts.
That's a pretty sweet trap! I like it. Seems like it would be pretty quick and humane. I haven't seen that design before. Thanks for posting that!

Well, the death wouldn't be that quick actually. It would probably hit a non-vital part of the body and cause the animal to bleed to death. It's no gun.

People we are fortunate over here that we can argue about how to humanely kill an animal. If we were to run out of food the word humane would be out the window...just ask Venezuela.
However clever man made traps are Nothing compares to a Snare so simple but so effective. The Nothern Indian Tribes in Canada used it to catch fish, birds, ducks, deer, beaver, and all different types of small game and fur bearing animals. Still today in many instances it is better than a steel trap because of its lighter and not affected by snowfall and freeze, thaw conditions as a trap. It is so hard to believe how effective piece of cord or wire can be.
Much appreciated and Thanks my friend .
Damn that's awesome! like that! Thanks Malc!

great idea , cheers
Ever try the same thing with natural cordage that may make the engine stronger? Could be used on a slightly larger scale to target rabbits and medium sized critters.

I think you need a different spring(power source) then.
by the way this same idea was used to make seige weopons in the middle ages.some serious power can be obtained here.i actually been wanting to make a crossbow useing the same idea.just really havent had funds to really experiment

when i researched this trap a lot of the stuff was written in foreign writing and each time it was translated it came out as secret deadly trap of Africa ,hence my title
yeah things get murky on the research.alot of african bushcraft is kinda closely guarded.one thing id like to see a video on is the veitnamese bear trap.we hear about it if we are lucky but never see how its imployed.

To avoid impaling hippos feet, this trap should not be set in Brixton or Stoke Newington.
The longer that sits, the weaker.

John Milkman How much power do you think would be lost in it sitting for 4-6 hours? Or overnight, for 10-12?
this trap here is capibal of killing dear if geared up.to the veiwer i advise caution if you play with it.you dont want to slip and catch the buisness end of this bad boy.
