I have 40 staples to remove on my shin in 3 days and watching this made me comfortable

Thanks for putting this up. I had surgery were the “just a little one inch” incision turned out to be over 6 inches with 23 staples. I have been dreading the removal. Good to see a video like this one.

I get mine removed Tuesday and was curious what to expect, thanks for your video.

It’s not a big deal unless you are not healing well I got my hysterectomy in 2000. The surgeon took the uterus out through my vagina. I went home the next day and no pain meds on day 3. I hope that you are doing well ❤️

Thanks for sharing this, I had back surgery (to insert a vertiflex in my spine) & they used staples, I was a little worried about how much it would hurt to get the staples removed since I've never had them before.

Great informative video. I think they leave every second one so that it gives the wound a chance to hold it's own. Sometimes scars gape or reopen because it's join hasn't healed enough to take the pressure. It's sorta like tapering to not shock the scar and avoid reopening. Open wounds can cause big problems.

Oh Yeah!!! Facts!! Those bending areas hurt like hell, I almost cursed out my nurse cause she kept tugging at them.. I said u better leave them and move to another area for now!!!! TIP: START APPLYING MEDERMA SCAR GEL afterwards (2-3 ) times a day and it will prevent surgery scars from forming keloids

Excellent video. I too will be having staples removed soon, having just had a hip replacement operation. I was just curious how the nurse would be doing it. Good luck to you health wise in the future.

@@damian4909 you got this! It's a little intimidating, but i promise it's a breeze. You'll feel a few tug and pinch. But for the most part it just kind of itches.

Eeeoouuuccch. When I had my transplant in 1992 I had 24 staples. I found the ones at the bottom hurt the most. Great video!

Mine was the opposite. The bottom was fine the top was painful!

I assure you it’s very quick and simple. Imo it was like a very,very minor pinch at the most. Don’t be concerned. You’ll walk out of the office and laugh a bit. I went through it on my leg. And I’m Mr minor anxiety. But I thought that was easy. So I understand your concern. Put yourself at ease.

It was pretty easy the only part that actually hurt a bit was when a hair or two got yanked out with a staple lol

You could also request numbing spray if you are pain sensitive.

I was in a bad car accident my buddy was driving speeding he hit a tree on passenger side broke both hips and crushed my left leg in 5 different places I have 38 staples on right hip and 5 on left hip and leg was stiched in bundles of 3 at 6 places im having staples and stiches removed in am this video helped prepare me I'm almost 40 and still very nervous about it thanks helped me alot

Congratulations 🎈. I got my liver transplant nearly 7 years ago. No infection at the wound site. 52 staples. Half of them stung a little. I’ve forgotten if it was that it was uncomfortable. It was nothing compared to just sitting up (oh god).

My stitches were removed after 2 weeks of my appendix removal surgery I’m 13 years old and my cut is open is it supposed to be like this? It doesn’t hurt at all and I have a gauge on my cut it didn’t bleed also but it’s not closed it’s open is that’s safe?

thank you for this i am 15 and i have about 56 staples and 6 stitches going up and down my calf and foot after my surgery and i am super scared to get them removed i get it don tomorrow and i can't even look at them without fainting and i am super sensitive. This calmed me down a bit and at least now im not shaking! so thank you so much for this video!

@@MEGhanshyamPatil Honestly with me being a big baby it was not that bad at all! It really was all in my head, the worst ones are on the ends and even that is not that bad! They will tell you it will feel like a pinch but it was like a 1 year old with trimmed nails ATTEMPTING to pinch me. I look back on it and it really was all in my head.

I got bit my cousins dog yesterday on Christmas, had to get two staples, I’m so scared of sharp things going in my body and I don’t handle the thought of pain like that well so I hope this helps

And how about inside staples bro when patients got during surgery when new kidney need to attached they will stay inside ?

I’ve had 16 staples removed on my shin. No pain and no discomfort at all. This was a few years back. To me it was a very minor pinch.

@@chitratewari8449 I’m not sure but in my case it was maybe two weeks. It was very easy. The staples in my opinion left less of scar and were removed faster than sewn stitches. Very simple and easy to deal with I assure you.

@@chitratewari8449 It seems like it was about 2 weeks in my case. I hope everything will be fine. But I think the staples were great fo me.

They did a good job. I had 28 and the nurse didnt wipe, wash hands,or wipe afterwards. 2 got stuck hurt really bad.

This video helped! I have a 13 inch incision horizontal on my abdomen that needs staples removed soon. I am getting nervous 😬

I had 22 removed today, he gave the wrong impression, none of it hurts at all and it take s less then 10 minutes it takes about 5 minutes or so.

Does area itches while healing still??

My brother (who was 12 when this happened) had 3 staples removed from his head after an incident on the playground. He was so damn nervous about the “unbelievable pain”, that the nurse said, “Ok well I’ll give you a few shots of numbing medicine first.” So she had the staple remover in one hand and a syringe with a needle in the other. She put the needle up to his head then quick used the staple remover to pull out a staple 😂. She did it again and then for the last one she said, “one more shot for good measure” and she took out the last staple. My mom videoed it and the final thing he said in the video was “so when can you get the staples out?” 😂😂😂

When i had my transplant only 2 weeks ago (im stil in the hospital) i did not have staples i had some kind of tape that was just very strong and removing it was verry easy!!!

Its going ok!! Im feeling great and i cant wait to go home. I had to stay longer because my createnine (i probaly typed that wrong) was going up and down from 80 to 150. And the doctors need to know why. BTW youre videos really helped me with stuf i wanted to know. Also my dad who donated the kidney, is doing super great!! He already feels like before the transplant. I had 30 staples removed from my lower spine on Monday (3 weeks post op). Probably 25 of them were extremely painful, but maybe because my incision site was very sore and sensitive. I almost passed out. Maybe I am just sensitive to pain, but it was just awful.

Hey. Best of luck getting your staples removed next week! 🤞🏽 No it wasn't too sore. Only if I moved in an odd direction. I remember just moving so slowly doing everything. I was on so many killers though so that might have helped.

I had staples removed from an abdominal incision. I had no discomfort at all.

My catheter was removed after 5 days. My drain was removed after 5 days. My stitches were removed after 4 weeks. And my stent was removed after 5 weeks.

Very very minimal. Only where the staple legs were in my skin but they'll scab over in no time!

I'm a nurse and I had my right kidney removed due to a mass. I had a horizontal incision and still anxious as hell for tomorrow's staple removal. haha

A district nurse came to my home to remove my surgical staples in my stomach after surgery. The nurse looked about 15 years old, I told her no. She also wanted to remove and replace a catheter.

Bs I had back surgery and 40 + staples in two different incisions hurt like hell,removing the staples was the worst of the whole surgery!!!

She’s cleaning it but right up on it and breathing all over it lol

At that point i think no infection could occur. But yea better to be safe and wear a surgical mask

I got into a car accident and ended up with a broken arm. Now I have a titanium plate with 9 titanium screws and 43 staples to top it off. Kinda scared to get the staples removed, but this video helped me ease off a bit.

@@TransplantFitness Thanks, man. Got 22 of the staples removed last week. I’ll be getting the rest of 21 removed today. Also, all my nerves were fine before surgery. It was supposed to be a 2 hour surgery, but due to some complications it took 5 hour 40 minutes. After that I lost the upwards direction control of my thumb and wrist. It’s been 20 days and I still haven’t seen any improvements. I’m 21 and my doc says I’ll be needing 2-8months physiotherapy session. Should I be worried? 😔

Ahh that sounds rough my friend! Honestly you are so young and you've been through a big experience already. If that's what the doctors says then do all you can to make that happen bud. Look after your diet and your health - show these doctors you'll be back to normal before 8months. You're young and can heal quickly - try not to worry but but use it as inspiration to get better! 💜💪🏽

Yah, no I had forty staples removed from a knee surgery , it was friggin un believably painful.....I was sweating and sweating quite unbelievably, all done in one sitting ....I think I traumatized everyone involved. I have tremors now and a little PTSD. Wth. I was told it wasn't supposed to hurt. Lies!!!!
