Surfside is beautiful and very well maintained. I watched this after the condo tragedy at 8777 Collins Avenue on June 25, 2021. I live in Jacksonville and really enjoy it. Thank you for the walking tour. It helped me learn the style, atmosphere and beauty of an area that has been through hell. As of this writing, they have only recovered 18 bodies. May God be with those lost souls. ..

The cause of the collapse was the pool and the garrage collapsed 10 or 7 min before the collapse and this is when the ladies goes check what was the noise

Same as the homes in St. Augustine, the closer you are to the beach the much more expensive the homes ($600K+++) I decided to buy in the country on four acres (Ocala) for less than $300K. I can drive to the beach at any time in less than 45 minutes. Peace and tranquility is worth it for me.

@@ev560 I probably won't be sharing my income, as its really no ones business. But I do plan on sharing how much it costs to live where I do. I still do real estate, but more youtube now than real estate

Florida weather is a little wet for growing cactus. San Antonio Texas weather is good for Spanish dagger and prickly pear. We get draught like weather most summers. May and June are our wet months.

Lived in Hollywood in 93'. Miss waking up looking out at the ocean on my 5th floor balcony while drinking coffee in the a.m. It's now 29 degrees outside my window. Brrrrr! I'm ready to go back to Florida. Retirement can't come soon enough.

I would imagine that might be even tougher since you know what its like to live here. When all you know is cold, its harder to imagine.

What a beautiful city. My prayers are with everyone who is hurting. As your walking around, I'm seeing the faces of the people enjoying life. With everything going on in the news, I was trying to find a video that showed the beauty of the area and smiles on the faces. So many people are hurting and it breaks my heart. I live in St. George, Utah where it's desert. My husband and I have been talking about doing a road trip and was thinking about this area. I told him what happened and we've been hearing about what is going on. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the area and faces filled with smiles.

Surfside is a hidden treasure, brings good memories (will be sharing this video with the family) white sand beaches, filled with New Englander/Yorkers (which is great is you're an introvert), excellent food, lots of mom and pop stores. 5:22 Oberle is an awesome store to go to if you want to find unique designer glasses. I strive to move there some day. Thank you for listing!

in 1961 i lived in SURFSIDE at 95th and ABBOTT AVE. and it was a beautiful place to live. walk to the beach and shops and no traffic.

Love Surfside. Probably best place to live in Miami Dade. Fairly quiet and clean but right next to the chaos for when your seeking it.

What a beautiful place. Michael, I highly highly highly recommend you to do *60 fps* videos, you'll thank me later for that for sure. Extra tip: if you can adjust the shutter speed manually, do 1/120 to 1/250 while doing 60fps, it would unknowingly be more attractive for the viewers based on my experience. Extra extra tip: try to use a lower aperture value with higher iso when doing daytime videos as well for better videography. *EDIT:* For the sound and mic, use those feathered mic covers, the mics are also attachable to smartphones. You can also try using apps like "Cinema FV" which turns your phone into a 60fps video recorder and w/ manual shutter ISO and focus support - I'd say try the free "lite" version first and if it works then get the full version. Also, add some "saturation" to the videos. I think these things could make your videos eye-candy as cheap and effective as possible. - Best.

Found your channel thanks to the YT algorithm. The mid-century/small town vibe reminds me of Tybee, a community I love. You and flowers remind me of my son and dogs. We raised him with cats but his whole life & adulthood he has to stop and say hi to every mf dog 😂. If you need an additional hobby, botany/horticulture/florist is your other calling… I thought it was great how you thought aloud about your career during the tour. You don’t get to hear that much on here…. I won’t live in FL but Surfside looks well planned and well thought out. Just has to work on those sidewalks. :) Thanks for the tour. It’s nice to see it before it became every engineer’s favorite topic.

I try to keep my videos unique as I watch a lot of YT as well, and just want to bring something a bit different to the table. Glad you enjoyed Surfside pre-disaster👍

It’s nice to see the rest of Surfside. Looks like a nice “town”. I say “town” because they say it’s the Town of Surfside, but it’s in Miami-Dade which I consider to be just one big city. A little too crowded for my taste but it’s nice to see an area of South Florida that doesn’t allow buildings taller than 12 stories, mom and pop stores, and is well maintained. I’ve been watching a lot of videos on the possible reasons why Champlain South collapsed. I have also been looking at comparisons between the North, East, and South buildings. Even when you’re walking south on Collins Ave, Champlain South sticks out like a sore thumb. It looks dilapidated compared to all the buildings around it.

Yes it sure is a small town. If you’ve never left Surfside then you probably would never know if there’s a major metropolis surrounding it. But I’m glad to see how strong Surfside has stayed throughout the tragedy

I recently moved to Surfside from Miami Beach on Harding I am now on Collins and I love this town so much I'm directly across the street from the community center but I can find absolutely no information nobody seems to know about it that's how I discovered you are fantastic video by keying in Surfside Community Center

Yes it was really gorgeous the day I shot this. Not every day is like that, but even when its in the 60's and overcast this time of year I don't mind at all. I'l take that over the freezing cold and extreme summer heat any day. Glad liked the vid 👍

I believe you panned your camera on the condo that fell at the beginning of this video. That was such a tragic event. As someone who loves homes, whether it be single story homes or condos reaching to the sky, I took it double hard watching it fall and people dying in it. Such a beautiful family homey community.

I live in Indiana which has really cold winters just like Illinois, I can relate to the story of the cold weather and wanting to get out asap. I love the way you walk slow and look at everything I do that and people all tell me I'm in a daydream but I tell them no I'm slowing down to smell the flowers and I'm so glad that you showed me the park because I could not find it I guess I just never walk down the right street it's not as easy to find parts as you might think on Google

Thank you for another good walking tour video. One thing I notice is the sidewalks are narrow and cluttered.

The lavender flower is a Plumbago, the other Bush Vine is a BougainvIlla plant.The Palm with the vine on it is a philodendron, and the Tree after it is a Orchid Tree.

I'm new to your channel & I never saw any of your videos before but AFTER watching ONLY 9 minutes of this one, you are making ME WANT to live there!! 🙃🌹 Too bad that I can't afford a house down there & too bad that I burn like a lobster! Welcome Kelly, thanks for watching! It is quite expensive here. Although there are some smaller buildings nearby that are not highrises. There is a bookstore nearby right in bal harbour shops on the top floor👌 Miami also is full of culture and history

Yes the main drag at night is gorgeous with all the lights on the trees, very nice. They do have several lots for parking, but its not readily obvious

@@jonahhex9620 Theres that one by the post office, one by city hall, and another one behind the main drag. I actually walked right through it in the video. Now you know for next time 👌

Another great video Michael, Surfside looks like a really nice town, peaceful and beautiful, but a little more expensive than Bay Harbor village. Which town do you like better?

Thank you Rob! It is very nice. Its actually more affordable than Bay Harbor Islands, especially for a single family home. Condos are cheaper in Bay Harbor since they are not on the beach, like many surfside condos. My pick would be a house in surfside, that I can walk to the beach from👌

Hey, Michael can you do a video of Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach Residential neighborhoods? I am thinking about moving there or Cocoa Beach or the Broward County area.

Prices are insane in USA in some areas...
