Surf Strength & Mobility Practice - Follow Along (Pilates style)

Improve your surfing whilst on land. This workout focusses on thoracic mobility, rotation, spinal articulation, balance, and even gets the smaller stabiliser muscles that most of us seem to forget about - but are crucial to surfers.
This is a pilates styled workout - focusing on controlled form rather than getting in a lot of quick reps.
It's my first video, its not perfect, and I'm still very much NEW to teaching workouts/pilates - so hopefully these types of videos only improve with time.
- IMPORTANT NOTE -
If you are pregnant, or have conditions such as, but not limited to, spondylolisthesis, stenosis, osteoporosis, or are early post partum, some of these exercises may not be suitable. Please get the consent from your trusted doctor/physician/ physiotherapist.
If any movement feels painful, please refrain from doing it, and join in when your body feels comfortable again.

Ruby, first time I have done this mobility class. Excellent! I regularly do your popup workout. Started doing that as a 70 year old, California male who was having trouble with my popups. The pop up exercises, along with a big beefy board have helped restore my ability to get up. Your classes are terrific. 38:24 I just did your workout for the first time and loved it! I’m an old school guy, used to lift weights forever, and finally coming around to completely changing up my fitness. Was in fantastic shape into my early 40s, but now in my late 40s I’m in the worst shape of my life (too many traumas). I’m really hoping that by changing things up, not only will my surfing improve (that fell off a cliff too), but also my fitness💪🏼 Thanks, and I look forward to more videos. Have a rad day🤙🏼

love this workout! I am doing it again and again to mobilize. Do you have any modification or tip for the push-ups ? I am doing them on my knees bur am still to weak so stay in line with my shoulders and my pelvis when pushing up. Thank you!

I am a total beginner in surfing and was looking for videos to help me train popping up on land before I try again this summer in the water. Your workout feels amazing as part of the preparation and I wondered if you had one specifically geared to that goal.

Also so far the only how to pop up videos I have found are by men. It is nice to learn from a woman.

What exercises would you recommend for the core to be able to do the ones where we put our legs above our head straight and also pull up from lying flat “over the ball”😅

great class, but it was quite annoying that there are so many ad breaks in between. rather put some longer ones in the beginning, so we don't have to stop the exercises :)

Great video - but that's ads are horrible! They're totally disruptive to your amazing workout. I have to skip art least a dozen ads just to get through.
