Surely a filter can’t do that?!

What are the chances?! Gold dust, unicorns and all those other impossibilities!
Find out exactly how a leak seemed impossible!
The client tried to blame the filter and so had to explain why this wasn’t the case!

Great job buddy. Very strange how there was no pressure loss.

Really had me stumped before I attended as I was telling them it couldn’t be running out the condense if there was no loss of pressure! Must have literally struck a perfect balance between filling loop letting by and heat exchanger leaking! 🦄 job! Thanks for watching!

You struck gold with that one....got to be incredibly rare to find that perfect balance between filling loop letting by and hex leaking it away 😂 great find though!!! Would have had many stumped!!!

Thank you! Should have done the lottery! I joked with the client before attending that the only way it could happen is if the filling loop was letting by too 😂

That would have baffled me😂.. top job Ritchie you did well there. System was well filthy. I would probs put that down to fresh water from the passing filling loop oxidising the system. Thanks for that buddy as usual wicked content❤..

Thank you, it did really puzzle me and if I’m honest, I did think they were just being silly and hadn’t noticed the condense in 10+ years 😂 still surprised by it how it was such a perfect balance! Thank you for watching and always supporting!

Looks like not been serviced regularly, that corrision build up over time. Magnatite build up in the HEX pathways have caused an obstruction, therefore the heat off the burner and the particules have caused a weakness and eventual corrosion in the HEX. Nothing to do with a filter at all!

@@gregorydavison3421 that’s right! You and I know that, but the customer thought differently at first until explained to them! Don’t worry, was all good in the end! Thanks for watching!

Surely that’s a new boiler at 10 yrs old? They not wanna go for that option?

  • @RJHeating

No, they didn’t have the budget. Also went for a reconditioned heat ex so complete job cost less than a heat ex on its own. Usually, you’d be right though!

Had me scratching my head so I had to attend in the end and good thing I did 😂 thank you for watching! Stayed perfectly level for a good week or two before I even went! Just assumed they were being silly talking about normal operation!

The water quality looked bad when you drained it, surely you would have seen the poor water quality when fitting the filter! I wouldn't fit a recon hex, surely new boiler or an original part

Yes, saw the water quality when fitting the filter, advised the client of a flush - they only wanted to go with the filter. Quoted for a new boiler and a new heat exchanger, they only had the budget for a used heat ex. A client that has used us for years, what would you do in that case, turn them away because they haven’t the budget for the ideal course of action??
