@@rodrigob8164 whether or not Darkseid is as good a villain as Thanos will depend on the writers. It always does just like how powerful a villain is . Inconsistencies always divides fans about what is true and what is bad writing. Like all the times Batman beat Darkseid or how Batman can fight Superman when both of those characters would kill Batman easily.

Darkseid is a real badass, he is the main Destroyer of the DC universe, as Galactus is to Marvel. I like Darkseid more though he just seems pure evil and not even Superman can take him on alone.

This character broke the mold in my opinion. He's arguably the greatest villain ever created. I mean for shit's sake, the guy commands a living planet he turned into a predatory weapon! His home base of power is basically the love-child of Hell and the Deathstar. That is supremely cool! I'd like to see Darkseid go back to his earliest incarnations of using the Source- the energy that composes everything in existence to control all matter & energy, similar to the way the Jedi use the Force. That's essentially who he is, the evil commander of the Source; whereas Highfather is the benevolent commander of the Source.

Hate to break the bad news to you, but Darkseid ain't coming to the big screen yet

*"This evil god is one of Superman's greatest enemies."* Damn straight. He will most likely be the big bad boss of "Justice League Part 2." I just hope they let general audiences know that *he is indeed a Superman villain first*, and a Justice League villain second. There needs to be some connecting storyline that connects Darkseid to Superman. Hopefully this happens.

When I first read about Darkseid, I thought he was Superman's greatest archrival since only Superman was powerful enough to possibly beat him. At the time, I did not watch Superman II in which Superman faced his archenemies from his home planet. I think that Darkseid is powerful enough to defeat Superman eventually, but on the same token, Superman can also beat Darkseid as well. As for the supervillains from his planet, they are just as powerful as Superman and have his weakness, kryptonite. General Zod and his followers could easily beat Superman if they worked together. It would be interesting if Darkseid and the three supervillains all fought Superman. Doomsday is another of Superman's archenemy, but not as powerful as Darkseid.

When Jack was at Marvel he wanted to do a story where he would have killed off Thor and the Asgardians and replaced them with new gods. but Marvel said no so he went to DC and created the New Gods(it's strongly implied they are the successors to the Asgardians), unfortunately DC wouldn't let him finish the story of the New Gods the way he wanted to, so he went back to Marvel where he created The Eternals, but Marvel wouldn't let him end the story of the Eternals the way he wanted to either. The difference being that DC will actually use the New Gods quite frequently, while the last Eternals comic was in 2009.

Another thing worth mentioning about Darkseid: he is omni-universal That is to say, no matter what alternate universe you find Darkseid in, that is the _same_ Darkseid Super Friends, Justice League Unlimited, the original Jack Kirby comics, that's all the same Darkseid _Our_ universe could potentially have a Darkseid; he just hasn't decided to show up yet

in all honesty, if they do a prime 7 JLA movie, meaning "superman, batman, flash, wonder woman, martian manhunter, GL and one of the hawks" or any other league member, doesn't matter, i'm sure darksied will be the main protagonist they consider. that or braniac for sure both of which are pretty much world enders that'd give reason for the group to come together, and take down the bad guy, so if Snyder and his writers get their shit in gear and make batman v superman as epic as all us fans hope it'll be. then it's not too far fetched to think it can happen. they just need to make the other stand alone films measure up is all

A summary for things to come for Batman Vs. Superman.

darkseid is probably the most badass and the most terrifying title for a villain

(At-least in the original Kirby stories) Darkseid don't want to destroy all life. He simply wants to control it and make it one with himself. Anti-Life isn't death. It only destroys life in that it removes your free will and makes you a puppet of the will/life of another. (In fact Death is another New God who is neutral in the Dakseid VS New Genesis war).

For me is Dakrseid the best Superman-Villain and the best Villain of all Time, because he is very powerful, sadistic, power hungry, don't give his targets up and he knows no mercy to everyone, even to his own Folk and Family. And Darkseid should be Supermans Archenemy and not Lex Luthor. But Lex is still a good Villain.

"Savour your moment of triumph Superman. But remember victory has its price."

All of super man's nemesis need their own iteration of Man of Steel. The directing and editing of that movie was supreme, it even is the closest mark to Superman's actual origins.

I always think it's interesting how the strongest villains are designed in American comics in comparison to Japan. A lot of the oldschool end-boss villains that usually need a whole bunch of superheroes to take them on are those big, neckless, barrel-shaped guys like Darkseid, Apocalypse or Thanos. All sort of blocky looking and just huge, muscled and menacing-looking. While in Japanese manga I always had this feeling that especially smaller/lither looking villains are the most powerful and dangerous. Of course both comics and mangas have exceptions.

WayneAnime Not really, Hulk destroying a planet with a single puch or holding the weight of a star is bad writing, but Apocalypse didnt approach Hulk with pure strength, he instead tricked Hulk into becoming a horseman willingly, as a result Hulk was granted power by Apocalypse and became stronger than ever, even stopping Juggernaut mid charge, which I believe no one else has done

I like to imagine that Darkseid's main motivation is that he's on a sort of suicide quest. He's become so weary of his own eons-spanning life and disappointed in the folly of man/alien with our endless wars and cruelty that he just wants to put himself and the rest of us out of our "misery"

I know it's cool to hate on Superman now and days. But I love this character, and the villains he faced.

DARKSEID: You turned your back and I wrecked your world. I robbed your people of their powers, their hopes, their future, themselves. What will you do when your friends, your enemies, your lover, are all Darkseid? When there is one body. One mind. One will. One life that is Darkseid. Will you be the enemy of all existence, then? What irony that will be, Son of Krypton.

Darksied-aka dr claw. I always thought Michael Ironsides did a great job with the voice. Every time I read a batman/superman comic with Darksied I hear Michael Ironsides voice "Enjoy this moment superman, but remember....victory has it's price." (Kills Dan Turbin)

I believe DK doesn't just want to simply kill all life in the universe - that would make him a Thanos copy which is ironic since Darkseid came first - but I think DK wants to "shut off free will itself" in sentient beings. The Anti-Life equation is the tool which he could do it. He has teamed up with the Heroes when the Anti Monitor from the first Crisis and Impirex from Our Worlds at War showed up.

Darkseid is a powerful enemy to superman as you can see in the movie justice league war, but one you will keep hearing of is doomsday becuase it states that if doomsday is killed he comes back stronger and immune to what killed him before

Pfffft Darkseid could grind Superman under his heel and make a Kryptonian hummus. I'd be super excited to see him in the Justice League movies

If he wanted a better exit at the end, he should've used the exit Darkseid did at the end of "Father's Day." "THAT is who I am. And when the time comes, you, and this primitive planet, will swear allegiance to Darkseid. Or you will be destroyed." Probably one of the most menacing lines in that series.

fun fact: the guy who voiced darkseid in super friends also voiced Lord Krulos in Dino Riders.

Best Voice I think for Darkseid was Michael Ironside for several reasons. 01. The calm vaneer that he spoke 02, The Tone of his voice. 03. something more menancing about a bad guy that threatens in a quiet voice 04. Michael Ironside always does a very good bad guy.

I never knew that Darkseid is Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.

I had no idea he showed up on Smallville, I stopped watching after like season 4. I'm a huge fan of Darkseid, I'm hoping once they piece together the DC Cinematic Universe he will be in the second Justice League movie, I'd say the 3rd as a big pay off like Marvel is doing for Thanos, but I'd rather Justice League 3 be a live action version of Flashpoint Paradox.

I like these origin videos on DC characters. I read a lot of Marvel comics and I'm a huge fan of the MCU, but I never read many DC comics. Having these videos helps a lot. Looking forward to the DC movies coming out. Hopefully they take some notes from the Marvel movies, but also have a different take on their heroes and villains. I feel like DC is much more dark. Although the Age of Ultron movie looks very dark as well.

Troy Sealy im pretty sure that superman is also sometimes faster than flash, and sometimes slower. he is sometimes the strongest dc character, and sometimes he is average. DC writers should make up their minds XP

that version of dark side from smallville looks epic but sounds like a guy using a shitty cheap voice changer software like what they used in True lies.

It was such a waste for them to have General Zod in Man of Steel. There were better opportunities for them to have much greater villains like Darkseid or Doomsday.

I don't care about that Darkseid is better than Thanos or the other way around. They both should have been given more spotlight already in the movies. It saddens me that people miss that aspect because they can't handle the fact that another comic company ripped off another. Who gives a damn? Both characters are awesome.

I keep seeing people say Darksied never wins, I think people miss the point. As the physical manifestation of like all evil. I doubt winning is even really a concern to a god like Darkseid it’s more a want then need, unlike other villains who are spared by the League, no matter what he goes on. Some evils win by just existing.

After hearing that Origin story, I've concluded that Planet Apokolips is just New Jersey condensed into a planet and New Genesis is space Upstate New York XD
