my personal favorite version of Brainiac is from Superman the Animated Series, where Brainiac was the super program created by Jor-el to watch over Krypton, and evolved into a villain via the shortsighted nature of his prime directive; to preserve knowledge. I love this version for several reasons, primarily because of how personally dangerous and meaningful he is to Superman. I also love the concept of the rogue program doing only what it was programmed to do, as opposed to a willing entity. He also is essentially devoid of weakness and pity in this way, and he is one of the few villains that the DCAU heroes have to destroy absolutely. Also, his nature as a program works so well in the second last season of JLU, where he merged with Luther. On top of that, Superman TAS was about the first tv show I ever watched, certainly one of the earliest I remember, and I recall having nightmares about Brainiac and Darkseid as a kid, so there is a lot of sentimental attachment on my part.

Its a general consensus that darkseid will be the villain for part 2. But it doesn't matter to me. I'm just excited for justice league.

Not crazy. They had to rewrite this guy repeatedly to make him interesting, as his original comics story just had him plan to regrow the cities as an empire for him to rule. Not unique. Any coherent story for him is better.

I like the superman animated series Brainiac, the JLU version, this Brainiac comes from Krypton too and was its main supercomputer. It lied to the people about the failing condition of the planet and left when krypton exploded

That version of Brainiac sought to learn all information, he did this by gathering all the information on a planet then destroying it to make sure nothing new to learn is created. Kyrpton was his first step.

It's just that the animated series, he said that there wouldn't be enough time for him to fix it, and that most likely it's impossible to be fix even if there was enough time. So he lied so he can escape, otherwise if he told the truth, the Kryptonians would trap him there with him so he can fix it but could die from the planet explosion if he wasn't able to. That's why he lie.

Brainiac is my favorite of Superman's enemies.

If the rumours are true, I know people (myself included) were concerned that using Doomsday in Batman V Superman is too early for that character. But thinking about it, its probably best that the JL take him out first. That then leaves Brainiac and Darkseid for the remaining JL films.

Brainiac is my favorite Superman villain :). My favorite Brainiac is from the DC Animated Universe like Superman TAS and Justice League when Corey Burton voiced him . He was born to voice Brainiac with his cold and evil voice. In my opinion, Corey Burton is the only voice actor who can voice Brainiac. I really hope Brainiac will appear in a Man of Steel sequel because he hasn't appeared in movies yet :( . Superman Unbound animated film was quite good :) .

I like the 1983 robotic form. I think the current Brainiac should be the green skinned version with the 1983 robotic form underneath. As he battles Superman the green 'skin' can be peeled away to show the robot underneath.

Brainiac is one of the best dc villians and this is my opinion if you don't like it you can stfu. He one of the villians i think that can take down the entire justice league or have a plan to get rid of them.

Lois thought Clark fled the ship like a coward, and went back to Earth in nothing but a space suit? So basically Clark would escape the frying pan by jumping into the fire? Does the Earth in this universe not have an atmosphere to burn up in? Or is she just stupid?!

Dude,it's not only Lois that's dense,it's EVERYONE in the DC universe.I mean everyone knows how superman looks,but the moment he puts on his glasses he's Clark Kent and nobody can recognize him.

We musn't forget, though, that his 5th descendant in the future is a good guy, as revealed in a JLU episode where they went way far into the future.

Gokul Kr With your point of that Marvel characters are smart, but if you look at almost all of the villains in dc especially Bat-Mans villains you will see that they are really smart in the evil twisted way they attempt to kill Bat-Man so in that case I favor DC because I admire the criminal masterminds that can cause you a lot of thinking and can truly shock you with their genius. There are a few things that bother me with Braniac, and then Superman's discovery of parts of Krypton and parts of Earth shrunken in different bottles. 1.) If brainiac is so smart, he should already know Superman's weakness. Superman is literally one of the only threats to Brainiac, so having some spare kryptonite as a failsafe would be the smart thing to do. 2.) At the very least, Superman and the Kryptonian scientists should have figured out that recruiting several Kryptonians and bringing them to Earth would be a great idea. In this way, there would be multiple supermen and superwomen to protect Earth instead of just Kal-El. 3.) Piggybacking off of number 2, wouldn't there be a possibility for Krypton to be restored, and for humans to become superhuman by being on Krypton. If not from the planet itself, perhaps from different space effects including Krypton's surrounding moons, suns and planets. I know that Krypton was destroyed, but I'm certain many of the surviving Kryptonians could come up with a solution to restore Krypton. Especially if Krypton's surviving geniuses go to Earth because it will not only make them super strong with super powers, but they gain super intelligence because of Earth's sun.

Brainiac had adopted an organic as his son, Brainiac 2. Brainiac 5 is really descended from Brainiac 2 but the process that gave all the descendants of Brainiac 2, with superior intellect was the result of the robot Brainiac's experiments to enhance organic potential. So Brainiac (the robot) is considered their ancestor.
