Most people respond to this creation by "Supertramp" and they played it great, but most don't know that it is really co-founder, Roger Hodgson who composed and wrote most of the songs. He's the guy with the high voice and was playing the keyboard. Supertramp had Roger for 14 years. Then he left the band in 1983 and went solo while raising his kids. Rick Davie, who is a great piano player, continued with Supertramp but never sounded this way again. Roger has his own KZread channel with a new band and plays all of his Supertramp songs as well as his new ones. He's 74 now and is still performing all over. Check out Roger Hodgson's channel to hear this again live without the echo.

Elok, Supertramp is one of my all time favourites. Try the Crime of the Century album, you won't regret it. I saw Supertramp live in 1979 and they played Fool's Overture.

A total MASTERPIECE. I first heard this song in 1977 when I saw their 1st ever area performance at the Tower Theater. Maybe 300 people total! I was unfamiliar with them at the time. My brother had an extra ticket he couldn't sell, so he offered it to me. Well, my jaw hit the floor and remained there the entire concert. I will NEVER forget the performance; especially when they did this song. In later years I read that this song took Roger Hodgson 5 years to totally complete. I hesitated requesting this because of the length and respective of Elok's available time. I just couldn't wait any longer and just hoped she would fit it in somewhere. Kudo's Elok!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

The Tower theater??? The one in Upper Darby? That’s where I saw my very first concert - the Hooters and Joan Jett. I saw Supertramp four times at the Spectruum, but would have loved to have seen them at the Tower. Best concert venue ever! Not a bad seat in the house!

*Not to One-Up Michael* - I too was *One of ONLY Twelve* attending their 1977 Memorial Arena, Victoria, BC, Canada *Even In the Quietest Moments Tour* Best Live Sound/Performance Ever - Professional Band! The 12 of us paid $7.50 each, so they encored us with *Six Unreleased Songs from *Breakfast in America*

Eu ouvi essa música pela primeira vez em 1979...depois desse dia meu gosto musical mudou para sempre. Me tornei muito mais exigente e seleto. De fato, uma obra de arte.

Not in the R+R HoF? Now THAT is a TRUE injustice. It really shows what a joke the whole Hall of Fame thing IS.

A wonderful choice of songs, dear Elok Hsu! I've been a huge fan of Supertramp since I bought their first album way back around 1971. While 1979's Breakfast In America was their huge breakthrough album, I still feel that their best works were before that with two of the finest albums of the 1970s, Crime Of The Century and Even In The Quietest Moments. Fool's Overture is the closing song on the Quietest Moments album and it's the perfect song to close out a musical masterpiece. I've seen Supertramp three times and was even blessed with catching a Roger Hodgson solo show. All of those performances remain among my favourites of the hundreds of concerts I've seen. Honestly, as good as the song is done in this live setting, you really need to listen to the album in its entirety to fully appreciate the impact of the piece.

All completely live. You should react to "Even in the quietest moments" and "Lord is it mine". Two other beautiful Supertramp songs where he is talking to God.

The Rock n Roll hall of Fame hates Progressive Rock music. They would choose any Blues, Motown,, R&B, Rap, Pop band before they chose a band in this Rock category at all. Which is petty and bizarre. Supertramp is one of the greatest Rock bands period. Too bad the sound is not great on this copy for you. But the song is one of their best!
