I heard that he was neglected as a child and to ease his loneliness, he created and acted out characters in his mind and this was reportedly how he became a creative and performing master. I heard this years ago I an interview he did. I wish I could uncover it to confirm but I can't say with certainty that what I'm reporting is accurate. It wouldnt appear that way seeing him and his mother together but we all know that in his case, comedy was an escape for this brilliant man. Rest in peace, my hero.

@@funlovinkrim You are right, he lived in a mansion, hardly ever saw his parents who both had a child from previous marriages!! Robin said the only way he could relate to his mother was through humour and that she was more like a friend to him later in life ..... very sad. In stark contrast Robin was a wonderful father !!!!! kzread.info/dash/bejne/c62Em9WKp6a6krA.html

He looked so much like her, he was very handsome. If he didn’t play up the nutjob wackiness he actually had the looks of a leading man. You can see the resemblance in the gorgeous eyes and the shape of the face.

Hi
They are beautiful together, his mum was gorgeous!
This is wonderful. The saddest thing about this is that when you hear Robin's real laugh, you realize you've never actually heart him laugh before... just act like it in films. He was never not funny. He was never not surrounded by laughter. But to hear his own real laugh, you realize, was a rare thing his whole life.

This entire video had me smiling from ear to ear. I honestly lost it at the part where Laurie did the rubber-band trick. Robin's laugh over seeing her do it makes it all the more hilarious.
Man, he was such a lovable human being and his mum had a great sense of humour! RIP
I love the moments where Robin's mom is even more outrageous than him. You can see where he got his humor from. It's wonderful that he had a good relationship with her. RIP to both of them Laughing and smiling together now too hopefully

50hellkat2 That happens a lot with comedians. Our brain is somehow set to think a person cannot be good looking and funny at the same time, so when we get to see a funny person often we don’t realize about the good looks. It’s a stupid, weird thing.

Awwww man. I miss Robin Williams, and his mom is so fun and beautiful. :)
I think losing his Mom took a huge toll on Robin. Nobody knows exactly when his depression started, maybe he didn't even know, he just knew it was there, but, when you suffer depression (A majorly underrated condition) every day is a day that you don't feel a part of this world due to your illness, a illness that more doctors need to address seriously before more people die the way Robin did. I really wish someone had seen through the laughter (Robin's defense against his depression) and had been able to help Robin somehow, but unfortunately, depression is passed off as sadness & a temporary thing that can be "fixed" by a good hug & a beer. This video was beautiful to watch, a time before Robin's illness overtook him, when he still had the love of his life & best friend, his Mom & things were still happy & joyful for him. RIP Robin, you & your Mom will now be forever with each other, doing the rubber band trick for all the angels in heaven!

he died from LBD not depression.
@MrsEJV

LBD affected his thinking, causing paranoia, hallucinations, etc. in an interview with his wife, she said he was aware of his diagnosis (along with the start of Parkinson’s). He also knew there was no cure. She feels he took his life while he was still in control of it because he knew that control was slipping. Certainly the loss of a genius.
robin's mom seems like such a sweetheart and a great mother! No wonder Robin is so sweet. "you know them by their fruits". Which means basically, people can have many successes is life, but look at their children if you want to see who they REALLY are. Robin seems to have such a loving relationship with his mom. Thanks so much for posting this. it was a treat to watch!
It's so nice to see them having a good laugh. The William's laugh is highly contagious :)
Robin was brilliant. I saw him perform at rhe Copa Cabana. What a talent, what a gift. I still can't believe he is gone....so very sad😞 I hope you are resting in peace.
Such a lovely bit of footage. The love and respect he had for his mum and that laugh at her jokes...Just beautiful stuff! RIP Robin.
This mother & son relationship is priceless. Robin looked so happy and proud to be by his mom's side. They clearly lifted each other's spirit's and adored one another. Hope they are back together ❤ in Heaven now!
How sweet this is!!! You can tell who Robin's BIGGEST fan was and that she was a safe place for him. It's plain to see that he adored his Mama and valued her responses to his one-of-a-kind wit. I'm sure there was never a dull moment in the Williams household as he was growing up 💞

ugh heartbroken
This man was blessed AND cursed at the same time... Can you imagine, when everything you see or hear sparks a big bang in your head? You can see how instantly he imagines things when he looks at something. His brain is always working full-steam. It's fine I guess, when you can make people laugh. But when you struggle... and constantly visualize on that level, you can easily go crazy. That's why they say: there's a fine line between genius and insanity, I guess.
So many amazing things happening in this video. One thing I noticed was how this shows how he was able to switch from over the top comedy & energy to very calm, reflective, & endearing expression of his feelings. The change happens at 5:30. It's what made him so appealing in his dramatic roles/ scenes. Such an amazing talent & a beautiful moment!
Brings tears to my eyes, he was so beautiful and brilliant, well, whatever she was, she gave him to us and we will never forget his magic, and will be heartbroken for ever.
in my opinion none of us have a right to talk smack about someone who commits suicide...for one we honestly never knew what they were facing and none of us are perfect by any means...

This to me, was wonderful. Forget the past, forget what we know the future holds, just relish the joy in the moment. Robin Williams, before he took is life, had the power to reach across the world and give me joy and laughter. Isn't that priceless? One thing I am glad of, is his KZread legacy. He still makes me laugh now! Though a tear often forms, when I think, not so much of his early passing, or not the general means by which he passed from this life, but the loneliness of those last moments, for one who gave so much. The sun still comes up, shining in the morning The sun so bright and that sets in the evening My day, my own drama, unknown to him His day, his own drama, known to us all Voyeurs to the good and the bad Eager to learn of his next deeds For we feel a share in the breath he gives Rest fair prince, for thy deeds are done Your smiles and laughs, remember'ed forever In this KZread world, a click away from that smile Why, is the question for which there may be no answer? I weep that you no longer tread the world, oh sad clown Just know, you were not my sad clown, but my Captain Your words and deeds, so stirring to me, so in your thrall
