He was referring to the other kryptonians, like Samir said. He knows why he's different to humans because his father showed him the space craft he arrived on when he was a teen. But now that people have encountered the shitshow that is Black Adam, Shazam, etc. They can appreciate how grounded and comic accurate these are, as compared to the newer ones... It just takes a loss to value the success u had earlier... However small it may be...

I agree that MOS will appreciare in time to be one of the top 10 superhero movies. But to call it a "masterpiece" is a big claim. I think a minority will stay as all who says that. And the follow ups let it down. Its also worth noting only from 2016 did people hate on the snyderverse of superman and batman. We just thought it was overly dramatic/brooding after the first one. It became known as destruction porn because of the continuing endless scenes of city destroying in the follow up. Wonder Woman 2017 was a breath of fresh air, and the most popular DC comic movie of this era. Loved by basically all.

Best flight scene in any super hero movies ever. Came back to watch this after 10 years and just realized that in this first flight, Superman took off from Antarctica, gained altitude before going Mach1 flying North. He then dropped altitude and speed over Mt Kilimanjaro, in East Africa, flew almost at ground level through the Savanna of East Africa on his way out due East, to the Arabian Sea. He then increased his speed to Mach 2 as he skimmed the water into Central Asia through possibly Pakistan. He flew through the dry rocky terrain of Afghanistan, into Turkmenistan then flew straight up over the Castian Sea, gained altitude and gave that part of the world a good look from above before heading West, possible back home to the US. Goosebumps just visualizing how that experiecne would feel like in person.

I cant believe this is 10 years old. This is the best super hero movie ever. Thank you Zack
I love that his ability to fly was linked to him discovering his purpose, or the general direction that his life was going to take from here on. He always had the power, but it was purpose that allowed him to take flight. Incredibly powerful message.
The scene when he starts to fly and feels arrogant and then falls down... Picks himself up again, looks calm and collected and flies again but this time he has the control. GG Snyder.
I really love the Physics over here... If someone like a Kryptonian is taking off from the ground... it literally causes giant cracks almost shattering the ground

Superman: Why am I so different from them? Jor-El: Earth's sun is younger and brighter than Krypton's was. Your cells have drunk in its radiation, strengthening your muscles, your skin, your senses. Earth's gravity is weaker, yet its atmosphere is more nourishing. You've grown stronger here than I ever could have imagined. The only way to know how strong, is to keep testing your limits.
@Harsh12able

Nitpicking tiny scientific detail here, no being will grow stronger under weaker gravity. Superman's muscles would have grown weaker on Earth than Krypton. Yes, he gets his power from the radiation and atmosphere too, but the muscle built would be far weaker...
@nnotny
Жыл бұрын
@@Harsh12able A further nitpick. Superman's strength isn't derived from his musculature, so the doesn't need to have such a buff build. There was an episode from the Superman show with Dean Cain from the 90's. His powers were somehow transferred to an overweight slob. Same strength, not quite the same bulging biceps and thighs.

The fact that my whole theater was clapping and cheering from beginning to end shows how powerful this movie was back then and it's still strong today. The haters online are the minority. This film was great and was/is loved by the majority.
No one can beat Henry Cavill as a Superman
Why couldn't every movie from the DCEU be as good as Man of Steel.
I bet this was Henry's favorite scene to film. The first time he gets to wear the iconic suit, and learns to fly. The inner-nerd inside him must have been screaming.

10 years later and this is still sheer beauty and a masterpiece of a film - it will never be topped (thank you Zack Snyder). And we all have the WB Execs, to thank, for ruining this franchise, DC, as well as the entire slate that was announced in 2010. Then we have the current clowns running WBD that is essentially a continuation of the ass hattery that we thought we left behind with the old regime. This was peak DC that we will never see again - RIP DC on the big screen.
