Ever since the premiere of the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, fans have been speculating just who the powerful being is that attacked the Scarlet Witch. This mysterious glowing figure was Iron-like in form and has led many to believe it to be non other than the Superior Iron Man. While many potential appearances have been teased for this film, Superior Iron Man presents the perfect opportunity to introduce Tom Cruise's Tony Stark. Cruise was originally chosen to be Iron Man before Robert Downey Jr. but eventually turned down the role. Since Doctor Strange momentarily split open the multiverse (in Spider-Man: No Way Home) and we have seen Marvel introduce alternative versions of main MCU characters (as seen in Loki and No Way Home), it is not beyond the realm of possibility that an alternate version of Iron Man would be introduced - especially since RDJ's Iron Man gave his life in order to save the world from Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
The Superior Iron Man is very different from the Tony Stark that we know and love. He is more villain than avenger, considerably more dangerous and disturbingly more selfish. This trailer takes a look at just what we can expect from a Tom Cruise Tony Stark!

I completely agree. And then a thought occurred to me. Ryan Reynolds would make a great attitude-driven, brilliant Tony Stark/Ironman reboot. I think his talent is wasted on Deadpool.

Very true, he didn't take it because he was on ither projects at the time, thank God! No one could have gave birth to the MCU but RDJ. His actual personality is Tony Stark , Tom cruise isn't funny or laid back, he works to hard to be cool, he tries to damb hard to be his roles. RDJ is naturally a laid back , playboy that does tons of humanitarian work. He is also a genius that changed his life to help others. His very life mirrors Tony. He may not create weapons , but he creates art, and he does it like it's easy, even when he is struggling. I mean Tom could be a iron man. He'll never be THE ironman.

I really liked the idea of Tom Cruise as Iron Man cause even though RDJ is a perfect match, it fits to the scenario of an alternative timeline just like Tobey, Andrew and Tom were the same Peter Parker from different timelines, and not 3 Toms mashed up by CGI
