Yeah, you're right on that point he just really had to show off his power and own righfully ego sense of his superiority in his own way without making too much disrespectul or insulting comments not thinking more clearly before acting

She is able to hold her own against Brainiac 5 who has advanced experience with his weapons and is a genius but was easily beaten up by Solomon Grundy with an energy gun much less advanced than anything Brainiac 5 has and he is an absolute idiot?

Braniac 5 is going easy on her. He's more on defending himself than attacking her which you can clearly see by his force fields.
