the stock airbox on the supercharged v6 engines in the Audi's completely masks the sound of the supercharger. so if you don't like the noise you can just keep that stock. but most people like the noise, so a lot of people swap to a cold air intake.

Yes you can its called twincharger(ing). Downside is really tight fitment only certain vehicles can accommodate both at the same time (even if heavily modifying engine bay for clearance) the maintenance an replacing parts is a hassle not to mention costly plus inconvenience as you will have a harder time to work on the car say for the starter as a example.. Its not as common because the longevity an cost outweighs the benefits significantly.

I don't know about you guys but a supercharger just has this primal rawness to it that i LOVE.

Both supercharger and turbo sounds are different in they're unique sounds are amazing!

Everyone hating on super chargers obviously have no idea how they work. I'd take a Terminator Cobra over a LOT of turbo cars. For reliability alone a Termi Cobra is amazing. Plus an instant 4-500hp to the wheels has to feel amazing. Not to mention it takes a couple bolt ons to get to 500hp lol.

I personally think they're both good, they both do the same thing, they both have ups and downs but at the end forced induction kicks ass regardless.

I've got a bmw x5m and when you kick it into sport mode and stomp it in 2nd-3rd you can hear those turbos spinning 🤤 Sounds like a jet taking off.

I like the Supercharger sound better! Turbos sound better when shifting gears!

Both sound great

The thing is that turbos can make so many different noises, and superchargers can only make that whine. Superchargers are great, but for sound alone, I think turbo takes the cake.

For sound, alone, I'd say N/A is, "best," but turbos definitely have a nice sound associated with the shove as it builds compared to blowers for sure.

for sound I give it to the supercharger, the way it makes a V8 grunt. It makes it such that NA engines dont sound as good as a supercharged version(for V8s) at least

Turbo whine vs Supercharger whine.. I'll take the turbo. Superchargers kill my ears. Plus superchargers make the car sound like it should be an electric car or something.

Me too. Superchargers sound like electric rc cars. Nothing wrong with that, but there is a time and place to be running the rc car. :) That whine when driving, oh hell no. Only thing I don't like with the turbo sounds is the flutter, or rather compressor surge. Those people need to realise that it's actually pointing toward a problem they need to address. That is they need a bigger bov.

Same thing bud. Too much pressure in the intercooler and you can't vent it through the bov when thr throttle is closed, it'll push back through the turbo. This is that flutter noise you hear.

Because I really like rally races, I like how supercharger motors sounds (: Buy yeah, Turbo motors sounds pretty manly. Although I am a supercharger fan, I have to admit that some turbo's do sound good. Not the ones where you only hear the blow off valve, those suck, but the other ones sound good.
