@@robertmarsh488 you taking supercharger lightly, superchargers are very expensive, ofcourse if you have a good responsive and reliable one..then there is these tailored custom engines!! 572 Hemi comes more 20k dollars with indeed a heavy duty transmission otherwise that monstro engine will tear your regular transmission, then fitting all those goodies under your hood will be more expensive..so i guess around and near 50k$ is gone no where..

The 67 GTO, Charger and many other cars of the late 60s into the 70s were Shelby lines. The big 3 Ford Chevy and Dodge built some real cars from the early 60s to about 72. Then we fell flat on our faces. Huge ugly boats that were built like shit hit the flood gates. No wonder the foreign countries were able to walk in so easy. Add the gas crisis into the picture and those were ugly times for American auto makers. Now throw in the tree huggers and a shit ton of wild new restrictions, regulations and red tape. Its no wonder we had to start outsourcing work. Business was getting expensive to be in. Technology has caught up to the regulatory demands or safety and emissions. Now what we are witnessing is a whole new muscle car show down and this one is almost unseen. When I look at the HP and TQ numbers VS what was considered a lot out of the factory back in my racing days. These cars today are something out of this world. No wonder Dodge can't keep rear ends in the Hellcats. They might have to go to titanium to fix the problem. Everyone built their fair share of good engines. Ford and Cheby engines have never given Dodge a run for their money. All top fuel nitro cars are Hemis.
