They choose kirby because he's the most easy character to play as a newbie. 5 jumps and an up B, floaty, easy moves to figure out like down B, able to absorb abilities and try out new moves.

What a legendary experience having been there to see smash ultimate evolve into what it has become to this day. Sora, the final fighter to be released in the game, comes out in 3 days and it’s hard to believe that it has been nearly 3 years since the airing of this direct and the release of the game shortly after. I have made so many great memories with so many people thanks to this game and the people behind it. I know that it is highly unlikely that anyone involved with the development of this game will ever see this, but from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Sakurai and all the people out there who made this piece of gaming history possible

seriously, i remember being so hyped for Smash Ultimate that i didn't want the game to release just to keep being hyped idk but the hype was inmense and possibly nothing will ever compare to it for me, and it even lasted more giving that we got DLCs after the game's release and some of them broke the internet

Ender But the trailer showed that only Kirby survived. Also, if it's possible to choose one survivor in Story Mode, I would pick Mario (he's my main in Smash Bros).

That last 5 minute trailer killed more characters than Infinity War did in the span of 2 hours. Smash Ultimate really IS the most ambitious crossover in history.

It's exactly one year since this official direct had existed. Thanks a lot Sakurai and your development team for making this game and it's also the best fighting game I've played. I had a ton of fun with the greatest surprises (such as World of Light and Battle Arena) and that playable fighter named Daisy. Also Sakurai always has me impressed like ZUN does (just as usual). Yes, I had no expectations for this game thanks to the fact that I've learned from the Touhou fangames. I'm a Touhou fan.

Sakurai looks so exhausted. I just wanna hug this man

The piranha plant reveal is just perfect, it goes to show any characters, useless or not, can be invited in the smash roster (sorry waluigi, ATLEAST you were an assist trophy)

I think once you fight one of the dark characters, they are probably later unlocked to be playable for the rest of the story. Or you have to finish the whole story to do that.

This is the definitive smash experience i don't think Sakurai can top this also he deserve a nice long break.

And so the first Ultimate fighter pass has come to a close. But that doesn't mean DLC has stopped! This was a great introduction to what content Smash Ultimate would be capable of for the future, and hope to see what decisions and new series representation there will be for Volume 2! Thanks Sakurai and the Smash Ultimate team!
