    I had my car in for a service and jim my go to mechanic actually watches you too! And has bought bombardas etc. You've no idea the influence you've had on us 50 plus year olds. Me and him and my mate are all circa 52 and you've 're ignited a fire we all were needing. My mechanic goes to the solway. We are coming to the Clyde area. I hope to bump into you and shake your hand this year and thank you for giving us such inspiration

    That method of Fishing for Sea Trout was quite a revelation to me, never seen a float used, ive only ever fished for Sea Trout at night on rivers at night with a wake type lure. The fact that you are picking them up in a Sea Loch pretty impressive. Theres bound to be bigger ones out there , loked like you missed a larger fish on the video.

    I drove up today for a wee cast for a half hour then a bag of chips in helensburgh. Didn't catch anything but it was just to see the place with springtime coming. It's beautiful there and I can't wait for better weather! There's one or two other good looking places too. Wonder if you'd be allowed out on the marina wall ? Wouldn't want to annoy anyone or spoil the peace and quiet though.

  • @PiscatorUK-Fishing

    @PiscatorUK-Fishing

    Жыл бұрын

    The marina doesn’t like anglers on the wall because idiots that call themselves fisherman have littered the place, shouted abuse at boat owners and thrown bottles at boats. I believe the marina can’t stop anyone fishing there as it is classed as public access but the marina has fenced off the end of the jetty wall. It is good there for pollock, codling and mackerel mate.

    Very enjoyable! I'm pretty sure I know here you are because been going there every Summer since I was 13, 45 years ago! But I'm keeping quiet, don't worry. I usually fly when there's a tide current, then light ledger when the tides in, with a strip of mackerel or a mussel or sometimes a sunken bubble float to sit on the kelp. Had some beauties last end of August, we were able to come up between lockdowns. Plan is to be there again Aug / Sept if all goes well. Never ever tried float with a rubber grub ... but I will now! Take care.

    Brilliant 👍 This is how I mostly catch bass but with prawns as bait. I'll try a tiny mackerel strip next time I see a trout, never had one take a prawn although my dad had a nice 4.5lb seatrout on a frozen sandeel a few years ago. I like the clear Drennan piker floats, fish actually hit them regularly, I suppose they just see a sparkley air bubble.

    Just to let you know, you've inspired myself and a friend to restart fishing again. Wed become stale through lack of good wild water in ayrshire etc. You've got us 're invigorated to try for shore sea trout. In recent weeks we've watched you and bought spinners bombardas and artificial prawns and sand eels. We will be heading out for sea trout, mackerel and pollock soon and I was up the largs to gourock coast taking pics of likely spots on Thurs there. Thanks and keep it coming (in our case sea trout stuff lol) what months aren't worth a shot in scotland for sea trout? Scandinavians seem to catch them all year round but maybe they've different water? I was thinking it might be best to wait until April to start but I'm still learning at the age of 52. Been fishing since 1978

    That’s an awesome comment mate and much appreciated which gives me inspiration to do more on the channel. Yes the sea trout vids have certainly been popular on the channel with much interest. unfortunately my fishing passion goes far beyond sea trout as you you will have noticed on the channel. I will do more tho at some point and maybe even fly fishing from the shore or kayak for them. You will get them all through the year but yes from spring through to autumn is probably best.
