To me, I think Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan Blue and Uktra Instinct should be used as last resorts. Instead, they spammed the transformations in Dragon Ball Super to where it's not even exciting anymore.

I think the anime should’ve did like the manga, specifically how in the manga version of the Goku Black arc, Vegeta used SSG against Rosè Goku Black and Goku used SSG against Zamas. Now I do think it was backwards that in the first fight, SSB Vegeta got manhandled by Goku Black when he first used Rosé yet SSG’s speed threw off GB in the second fight but i thought it made sense when it came to Goku using SSG to fight Zamas whom outside of immortality, wasn’t a strong opponent to warrant SSB. I think the anime should’ve used SSG more as the “battle is heating up” form and like you stated, SSB should’ve been the last resort form until UI and SSBE came around in the anime. That would’ve both given SSG more screen time and time to grow as a form while also keeping SSB fresh and not overused such as in the sparring matches with Krillin and A17. Hell it shouldn’t have even been used against Bergamo and should’ve been used as a surprise form to the Gods when he fought Toppo. They tried to make it epic when he went Blue to get free from Toppo but at that point it wasn’t impressive cuz he already showed his Trump card to them against Bergamo of all people 😂 (sorry for the long response, your comment made me realize how many opportunities they missed to utilize these forms better)

Originally, god was not supposed to be a long-staying transformation. It was a way for toriyama to bridge the end of the Buu fight with the end of Z. Goku fights Uub in base the whole time, but Uub is supposed to be as strong as Kid Buu, an opponent who Goku couldn't even beat as a SSJ3. At the end of the Battle of Gods movie, it is implied that Goku absorbed the Super Saiyan God power into his base form.

They should have made God the main transformation and beerus as motivation to train with the threats to the multiverse like zamasu acting as the trigger for super saiyan blue a literal perfect moment would have been zamasu telling goku he killed chichi and goten to have goku unlock SSJB

Hey man! Totally agreed with you on this. I am one of those fans whos till loves Blue but sad about SSj god being sidelined. Blue should have been introduced with a powerful Emotional moment in Goku Black arc.

I like blue for the wrong reasons. I always drew a super sayain version of myself with blue hair when I was a teenager. My favorite color. It’s still a shame that Vegeta’s ascended blue wasn’t called Royal Blue. For obvious reasons.

The one who used Super Saiyan God the most was Shallot from DB Legends. Goku and Vegeta only used Super Saiyan God a few times after gaining Super Saiyan Blue, but while Shallot has used Super Saiyan God to fight Giblet, Dark Buuhan, Golden Frieza, Hit, Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black, Nuova Shenron, Syn Shenron, and others. Shallot has really given Super Saiyan God the respect it deserves, and with Giblet, Shallot's twin brother, who uses Super Saiyan God the most after Shallot.

Even the manga showcased SSG more than the anime. Blue got rushed and used as a flagship to market DB Super after RoF, unfortunately.

I always felt that the main reason why SSB is so disliked is not just how overrused and underperfomed it became, but because its quick introduction retroactively makes SSG utterly useless and pointless. They ultimately just treated God like a temporary stepping stone to a new level despite having put all the effort they did into giving an intricate and compelling lore behind it. If they staved Blue off for another arc later in the story (even just the next arc of Universe 6), it would have made the story far more compelling, at least up to that point.

Imagine if they'd gone with Ultra Instinct being a technique instead of a transformation, and making it incompatible with standard Super Saiyan forms? Only Super Saiyan God has the tranquility to use the technique. Blue for power sure, but Red becomes the UI defensive/skill form.

Vegeta switched back and forth for energy conservation vs power!

I kind of thought with Kale being a berserker saiyan like Broly, it gave Kefla the ability to kind of deal with God Ki.

Indeed, a mistreated form, got replaced by a boring form. I keep saying this but I wish Super Sayaijin God was not just a power up form, but instead a god version of Gokou who can do everything mortal Gokou can do, could’ve called it just God Gokou. Super Sayiajin Blue could’ve been just the regular power up for God Gokou, and its ascended forms, Grade 2,3, and 5, and S.S.3. I don’t know, I like my idea, it takes advantage of the simple design. (4:00) Would’ve liked this more.

@@LibraKai Because it just shows up, it doesn’t have anything unique like God has, it’s just a recolor unlike God even though it is a recolor, it has a noticeable change of muscle mass and pupils which honestly is what makes me like the form. The build up and all that. Really, Blue is just Gokou and Vegeta obtain it and use it, that’s it. This is why I wrote my ideas, by actually making God the focus and Blue an actual power up, it makes Blue interesting even though it’s not its own thing anymore.

​@@azimuddin1890 Totally understandable. I think by all accounts both God and Blue are underutilzed, with Blue being overrused for nothing but extra punching power and God just wasted potenital. Though I do want to argue that by making Super Saiyan Blue just the "regular power up for God Goku", as well as integrating the Grades 2-5 and SS3 into them would ironically make Blue even more boring since it would still end up just being "recolored SS 1-3", not to mention the already absurd power creep would arguably be worse. To me, in concept, SSGSS is genuinely interesting, as it's a combination form similar to SS4, just in the other direction. For that, I feel that the story would have benefitted if it was introduced later in the story, even if it still ended up just leading to Ultra Instinct/Ego making it obsolete, but at the very least it could have given both forms a better spotlight and time to shine.

This Form should've been used up until the Tournament of Power then Super Saiyan Blue being unlocked.

I'm not sure about universe 7 being infinite in DB Super, Bulma said in both the manga and anime that they are located at the edge of the universe, and Sorbet said that 70% of the universe could be under their control once they ressurect Frieza. The Daizenshu is old, it also states that the Potara fusion doesn't have a time limit. On top of that, Goku having infinite strenght doesn't make sense considering SSJ Vegeta couldn't lift 1000+ ton Magetta.

Golden or Red hair naturally looks more god-like compared to blue, for super saiyan blue to look godly, it would take extra details like erasing the pupils like the berserk forms and adding a halo on the character's back or head or something like that. If anything, super saiyan 4 looks already like a god form without much effort.

It would have been nice seeing them master super saiyan god and make the power theirs in that fashion, and then seeing how strong the super saiyan god forms could get like old super saiyan also would've been nice and in turn would be a great build-up to ultra instinct like how grade 4 was for super saiyan 2.

Great video SSG needed some kind of limit to it. Such as Hard time limit as an example, or TRULY draining the user's stamina. the use of the form for too long will Knock you OUT for a period of time. Making the other forms useful, and SSG(and others) being only as a last resort, cause once used they cant be used again for some time, and other downsides.

If Vegeta is on the thumbnail it's gonna be a good video 🎉

All I wanted was for Super Saiyan God to be used more before it got replaced by Super Saiyan Blue. We had no time with the form before it was already inferior to another.

In my opinion, it sould've been the other way around after DBBOG, blue sould be a preparation to get the God transformation, due to Goku getting the form via ritual, after hard training of the god ki then atchive the god form (red form)

Ssj god should have been the main transformation in super that they default to, then they could go blue in critical moments, kinda like ssj 2 was the main form in the buu saga, and goku would go ssj 3 when he got serious. Yet instead they either stick to regular ssj 2 or just spam the crap out of blue SMH…

They might as well introduce a "Super Human" form if piccolo has an orange form, Frieza has gold & black, gohan has beaat, and super Saiyan god is gonna have every color of the rainbow

That's the ultimate/mystic form

For me, I would have dropped the super part of the name and left it as Saiyan God. This form got further disrespected by Super Saiyan Beyond God that looked like base form and nothing else. They just wanted to pump out too many forms too quickly.

The Red God form should have been treated like a new base form, and Super Saiyan Blue should have been what happens if they tried to transform into super saiyans while in the Red form. That would have made some sense I think. But they should have had to earn it, or at least show the audience that they earned it. Maybe balancing the tranquility of the base god form while also tapping into rage being a bit of a contradiction and a difficult mental space to stay in.

Even if Goku got red from the ritual and Vegeta got blue due to learning it differently would have been better. Red was so cool and wasted

This is how I would do it, up to the Broly Movie. *BOG:* Ultimate Gohan kept up his training and was the strongest until Goku got SSG. Goten and Trunks have been keeping their training up, too. The reason that they choose Goku instead of Gohan is because they don’t know how strong SSG is outside of that it's supposed to rival Beerus, so they need the most skilled person to wield it to increase their chances of victory. *ROF:* Frieza was training in Otherworld ever since he saw Majin Buu, someone he was always told to fear, be defeated by Saiyans, people whom he believed would always be beneath him. Ultimate Gohan vs Golden Frieza is a close fight, almost down to the wire. Then SSG Vegeta gives Frieza a Senzu and beats him in a one-sided stomp. Sorbet and Frieza's cheap shots just get absorbed by Vegeta, and then he kills them both. *TOD:* Goku and Vegeta have nearly mastered SSG by this point. Piccolo beats Botamo and Frost, but loses to Magetta. Vegeta beats Magetta and Cabba. Cabba still gets ssj1, but not ssj2. Vegeta barely loses to Hit, who also has divine ki. Goku clutches up, though, learning from Vegeta's fight. *GB:* Goku and Vegeta can jump SSG Goku Black, who then turns SSGSS for a brief moment. In that short span of time, he beats everyone with ease even in their strongest forms. They come back and he beats them again, having learned how to tap into ssgss at will. They come back again WITH THE SEAL. They still almost lose, then Zamasu accidentally triggers Goku to turn ssgss. They successfully trap Zamasu and jump Goku Black. *TOP:* Goten and Trunks replace Krillin and Roshi. The U6 Saiyans all have ssj2 because they trained for it. Android 17 isn't ssg level. Tien and Piccolo stay in the ring longer. Toppo is the main threat, not Jiren. SSGSS gets them through the tournament, but barely. *Broly:* Goten and Trunks team up on Broly and even fuse to beat him, whereas Gohan gets the runback with Frieza and wins. Frieza never returns.

All this tells me is that hit can destroy a universe and 17 can destroy a universe so there is no need for a god of destruction.

Super Saiyan god should have been just one form. No add-ons no “mastered” or perfected versions. Goku should have been red and Vegeta should have been blue. No more transformations means bringing things back to basics and actually learning new TECHNIQUES and SKILLS instead of just boosting numbers. Imagine if Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego worked more like Kaioken. They would actually have to strategize in fights again and learn how to deal with opponents. OG Dragon Ball was the series at its most creative, and things peaked once Goku turned Super Saiyan against Frieza. After that it became mind numbingly diluted by power ups that weren’t earned. Here’s one that’s hard to swallow. Gohan didn’t earn SSJ2 narratively. It was a force moment that looked cool, and that set the stage for everything after. SSJ3, fusion, potential unleashed, and the god forms don’t have a satisfying win attached to them. They just show up and tease the viewer. Movies don’t count btw. GT is bad but at least it stuck with SSJ4 and treated it with respect.

I know that I will probably get some comments about this but in all honesty a lot of the god forms that they showed so far in Dragon Ball super have a really giving me that go to punch that says “like oh yeah that’s the best form I’ve ever seen.” yet as you said it yourself scholar that there’s way too many forms that Goku has under his belt that makes any of the forms that he had before seem relevant. Again I go back to GT and when I first saw the form of super saiyan 4 that both Goku and Vegeta have displayed it took me back to when they first discovered the super saiyan transformation. That joyful moment where the type of battle turns in the heroes favor against the villains that they face against, now don’t get me wrong I do like how ultra instinct and alter ego look on paper even beast Gohan looks very impressive however the only one that’s actually meant to get a “true” win over their opponents is Gohan and piccolo due to their beast and orange forms. Now what do I mean by that I mean when you look at some of the battles that Goku and Vegeta have fought so far none of them really had that big highlight moment where, outside of the manga version of themselves, they got the W on the upon is the faced. Think about it when you go right back to the fallen Kai arc, Goku had Zamasu on the ropes yet he couldn’t get that one win off at the last moment. Then of course there’s the fight with jiren as well during the tournament of power and even when he had the victory in hand it was taken from him, then you have the battle with Vegeta against granolah and gas in his new ultra ego form yet even then they couldn’t get the win and it took frieza in his black form to Deal The killing blow.

something that could be cool is if Goku is only able to use UI in base which is what I believe -sign- is, mastered UI and Super Saiyan God because of how it is a lot more calm and has a certain tranquillity where as every other form feels far more high energy. Either that or bring back the idea of having to master every form as if it was base which would also be really cool because that was a lot of fun to watch in the cell saga.

Super Saiyan Blue was just so underwhelming in the Anime especially, it's treated as the new casual and it almost never even wins fights. It only won the fight it was in because Frieza's new form was wasteful, they introduce it and it's already weaker than their opponent.

I never gave a shit about these recolor forms because Akira never really gave me a reason to. But I do find it hilarious how Super Saiyan Red had the most unique abilities (given it had a healing factor, which none of the other recolor forms had) and yet he rarely used the form and rarely used the healing factor.

SSG is basically a filler form in a official series, even the OG ssj is used more in super than the SSG

Super Saiyan God is my favorite form since the original Super Saiyan transformation. I love the Red and Magenta looking color of the hair, The way Goku's body slims down to contrast with beerus and signify that God's don't need muscle to be powerful the pupils in his eyes. The design was divine and looked Godly. But I hate that it was treated the way it was. Definitely should have been the pinnacle of Saiyan Transformations until Goku go UI. Blue just sucked and was beyond rushed.

Remember 2nd form Frieza was able to destroy a universe

Super Saiyan God is so disrespected that in DBL there’s only 5 Usable Units with SSG. While Super Saiyan Blue has 29. (Including Shallot in this)

They should have made the SSJGod we see, the lesser version, and the ritual one the full powered one which is leagues above Blue. Im sad they didnt rethink that.

Ya in the Battle of God or the start of Super, there was that moment where Goku healed himself in the god form after a strike from Beerus. Something we never saw again? You know if they just put a bit of focus on that, it could explain how Goku and Vegeta can keep getting back up straight to SS Blue, after being unable to stand for like 50th time in a row. But if a Saiyan had a passive healing ability, and a self harm ability like Kaioken, wouldn't that just basically become an infinite growth cheat code enhanced by their racial passive growth bonus exp?

Or like if goku unlocked ssj blue against zamasu when he told him about killing his family ,it would have been epic .Or just something similar ,they just introduced it like so quickly and randomly it didn't feel exciting like the days of ssj 1 ssj 2 and 3 ,and even ssj god was a lot more exciting . If they really wanted to add it ,they could have done it in a better way

10:45 I don't think it would even be accurate to look at God levels to be a multiplier of base power levels or of any previous mortal form, because it's an alternate form of energy entirely. It's hard to compare the power of the wind and the ocean below it, not entirely impossible to do, but there would be alot of factors to consider, and in what context.

To the mangas credit on the chapter 4/5 situation. They were just recapping the movies and saw no point in going in depth on it.

13:00 I disagree, being universal/ multiversal doesn't require a strictly bigger number. God ki is something else entirely to mortal life ki. God Ki is at least partially under writing the physical word, where as mortal ki is part of the physical world. It's the ink on the page vs the power of the pen or up to the guy drawing with the pen. The uncontrolled god ki could be pulling at the threads that hold reality together in a more direct way, than simply blasting things apart. (but let's be honest that universal shock wave thing was kinda stupid and got written out for good reason)

Its really sad mainly cause Super Saiyan God just sounds divine unlike Super Saiyan Blue. Why make such a unquie form only to make it obsolete in the wrong run. IT ALSO HAD THE BEST LOOKING AURA, LIKE CMON Its very mixed emotions since the forms Beautiful yet underused

If they really wanted a new form for toys then SSBlue should've just been a False SSGod, in that it's the closest form a Saiyan can achieve before "godhood" Then there was this idea I saw that said Ultra Instinct/Ego should've just been Goku's/Vegeta's own advanced versions of SSGod, one with angel training/techniques and the other with destruction.

Technically Super Saiyan God isn't a Super Saiyan transformation, it's a Saiyan accessing Devine Ki, Super Saiyan Blue is technically the true Super Saiyan God since it's a Saiyan using God Ki going Super Saiyan.

I need a super revamp

Ultra instinct fighting style seems more fitting for super saiyan god. Think about it, the form includes the word "god" in it and if someone is fighting like a god, automatic body movement dodging without thinking is what I would expect a god to fight like.

I wouildn't count the anime as "canon", most everything you see there is never seen in the Manga. Like SSj KaioKen, SSj Blue Kaio Ken, SSj Rage and SSj Blue Evo. The anime is extremely inconsistent in the first place. You see Goku going Blue with SSj1 or SSj2 level characters and still get owned, then the same SSj Blue going head to head with Jiren in some scenarios... Just mostly use the manga as canon.

Movie, Manga, and Anime are all their own canon. The events may play out similarly but not exactly the same. So if we only have 1 version of it we can take it as roughly what happened but not canon to that world The terms you guys all use like "multiversal" are stupid. They are uninformative and even if they aren't because of the disagreement of several factors they become useless. Now, as far as the power level of SSJG... If you want to, you can roughly work it out with some assumptions... But I have to be loose here cuz i haven't thought about this is a while.... I believe in the movie we get several statements by Whis and Beerus but how much power Beerus used at any given time. We can then also link that with what we know of SSJ modifiers and we get a fairly simple scale. We also know things like Ultimate Gohan is unequivocally the most powerful being in DBZ and according to how Saiya-jins are supposed to work, his Power Level is that much greater when Super begins. Gojeta and Vegeto are both weaker than Ultimate Gohan as are SSJ3 Goku and SSJ2 Vegeta... If we ignore Beerus, because we have to since his PL is pushed up constantly by the need to do it, the question is how does SSJG compare to Ultimate Gohan... and we know that Gohan is at least able to destroy the fusions which we know is able to dominate SSJ3 So... so SSJ3 is 400x base... Goku/Vegito are at least 2x SSJ3 Goku, making out Power level 800x Base Goku. Ultimate we know is at least 2x that... so 1600x Base Goku. Here we know that, even though it makes no sense, Gohan is dominated by Beerus to not even be interesting, but SSJG Goku is interesting... so that means that SSJG Goku is at a level that can dominate Ultimate Gohan make SSJG at least 2x Ultimate Gohan which makes it at least 3200x Base ToP is not really a good measure because of the fact there is no ToP movie and the anime canon PL is nonsense. They literally do 10x boosts dozens of times. While SSJG and SSJ Blue are treated as Power vs Stamina like SSJ Grade 2, 3, and 4... while Resurrection F puts on the level of mower a Dominating power over SSJG/B which makes Frieza around 2x more powerful, Jiren definitely above them all... I could work it out all but because of how inconsistent and crazy some things in super Super are, it's really hard to get good reads on things

Im sorry but you are giving far too much reverence to a form that did bot exist or was hyoed untill the movie, you say legendary super saiyan god, but even within its own movie it showed it wasnt the form, jt was goku that mattered.
