Toriyama did confirm in an interview years ago on how he created Frieza as an amalgamation of what he thought monsters looked like in his childhood, frieza was also designed due to the events of the Japanese economic bubble that had occurred at the time he was writing the Saiyan Saga, with Frieza specifically being based on real estate speculators, which Toriyama claimed were "the worst sort of people". Frieza's third form was indeed inspired by Aliens but he did hear from his editor that Ridley Scott could legally sue him for designing Frieza's third form after his titular alien species from Alien, also a fun fact is that Cooler's 5th form was inspired by Predator because of the mask, hence why Abridged Piccolo said "I think Ridley Scott's gonna sue somebody" when 3rd Form Frieza says "So Namekian, what do you think of my third form?" What I love about when Cooler goes into his 5th form is that what's left of his face goes black plus his when creating a Frieza CAC in the Xenoverse games, there's a couple options on the head and mouth that are similar to 5th Form Cooler. If I had to name Frieza's new form to match the colour black, it would either be Ebony Frieza, Onyx Frieza or Obsidian Frieza as those names just sound better then him being called Black Frieza

The only form that was complex was the original name for Super Saiyan Blue being Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, something the games have run with instead if it being called Super Saiyan Blue

There's this game (DBO I think) where a frieza grunt ate a part of King Kold and Mecha Freezas tail and obtained a powerup from it, as if their mutation was inherited from this. So here me out. What if King Kold or an ancestor of his cannibalized their species to create the mutated Kold lineage? They are cruel and psychotic enough to do stuff like this.

You can compare that to super saiyan grade 2. He even asked frost if he could do it but you have to use it fast cuz it drains your energy fast.

Don't forget his fight with Broly lasted a full hour. Goku & Vegeta had to wait 30 minutes to unfuse, twice. Surviving an hour of constant fighting against the monster that is Broly is more than impressive.

The reason why friezas transformations look like it hurts and saiyans don’t is because he’s actually transforming and saiyans are just going into a state, seeing as if you knock them out they go back to normal, that doesn’t happen to frieza

@@shadowopsairman1583 They bulk up, and their hair changes. While for the Frieza race, their WHOLE body shifts and contorts, and changes. With height increase, or reduction. And your body and organs just taking a different shape. I mean, Frieza's 2nd form probably hurt like hell to transform into. And Cooler's 5th form, probably isn't fun morphing into.

I feel like the only thing I learned about Freeza was that he was wearing a bio suit that basically bonded with his body. Team 4 Star or some other parody clip made fun of his species having no body features when nude, but apparently that might not be the case.

Frieza should be a villain as originally intended and have a proper ending in death. It was great to have him back, but his effectiveness as an antagonist will falter if not handled the right way.

At this point, I think he has the DIO effect, where he's far too well-loved as a character to be hated, even though he's evil. Of course, he isn't the first character to stick around like that: Vegeta did it too.

I want to believe that a small part of Freiza enjoys battling Goku & Vegeta and that's why he actually spared them

Exactly. Canonically speaking we know essentially NOTHING about his species outside of biology. He's not the only race we've only seen one member or one family from, but his major story role makes it stand out

First video I’ve seen by you. And subscribed immediately once I finished this video. Appreciate the time and effort that went into this video. One of the best I’ve seen.

I mean, I like Frieza. I think that he's a good villain, even if he can be annoying sometimes. But I feel like he is the perfect antithesis of Goku and Vegeta. But ultimately, I truly hope that Vegeta gets an extremely brutal kill over him to kind of bring that whole arc full circle and end it.

Do you think Frieza is annoying? I think he's entertaining af. His personality and tone are so sinister and cold. He's literally the perfect villain who you don't need a sad back story for, and that's why he's the most iconic. He was the MVP in the TOP imo. Dragon Ball to me has always been the embodiment of there's always a bigger fish.

This guy knows what he is doing! he mentions what knowledge he got from where and if it is confirmed, cannon or non canon. This man searched everywhere: manga, DBZ, DBS, xenoverse and even a game such a dragon ball legends is in there. the amount of commitment and passion... truly, as frieza says "brilliant".

One thing you love about dragon ball z, It always gives you surprises.

I think Freiza spared Goku and Vegeta after going black and beating them due to Beerus. He will surely punish Freiza if he killed those two at this point..

One fun fact about Freeza: in the brazilian Portuguese dub, Freeza have a deep voice in comparison to the english dub

Freeza is such an interesting character to me just because he’s such a prodigy in terms of power, and yet so often doesn’t do anything with that potential since it so easily becomes op. It’s his personality that’s his shortcoming.

As the primary Villain, he has the highest potential growth in terms of Story-Arc

Fun fact: Vegeta was Freeza’s strongest henchman given that Ginyu (2nd strongest) is less than 180,000. However, Ginyu being at close to 100,000 (I forget exactly how strong Ginyu was…) without being reliant on a full moon would make him more useful. And the fake moon weakens Vegeta (by how much? Idk, I don’t think this is ever made clear).

I think more than Frieza's race this video is about his power. A video on his race would've probably been shorter.

🤔 Probably Frieza's second tall form and his 3rd form due to how different they are and for as a kid I liked Frieza's Mecha form wanting to see what he was capable of now, Frieza is my favourite villain next to Cell due his various returns from the brink of death and durability as he is still able to talk to himself about his defeat while in pieces in space and I also like King Cold's intimidating bulky tall look and Cooler's design in his forth form looking a little like Frieza but different in terms of colour palette

My favorite Freeza moment, was the end of the T.O.P. when he and Goku are basically gassed out of stamina and are taking on a spent Jiren. When they are in the heat of battle and he makes Goku remember his promise, I fell out laughing. I got so hyped, watching the 2 enemies cooperate for the sake of their universe! Amazing!

A comment that has made me think is Toriyama saying about Frieza's family being mutants is that they're also a "hybrid of sorts". To me this implies that his "race" is like a mule where they're hybrids and not a natural species, mutant status aside. This could also tie into Tori saying Cold had Frieza without any partner; as a hybrid he might be unable to procreate normally so uses some sort of cloning, like how some lizards can reproduce asexually. It also explains why we never see Frieza's race outside of family members or a Universe 6 doppelganger in canon-we should really be asking what two species mixed together to make King Cold. You could also emphasize how both Frieza and Gohan are prodigies if they are both hybrids that get power from that

The terrifying part about Frieza is that _He never really trained._ This mans held the power to conquer A GALAXY and oneshot THE ENTIRE SAIYAN RACE, a race of Citykiller-Planetkiller level people even then, in one attack, _with Zero push-ups, Zero squats, and Zero Juice._ I can only hope they accurately portray this in the Comics.

@24:00 That's an interesting theory there about the human brain and power restriction/limits.

This is not a video on Frieza's race. This is just a video on Frieza. The idea of 100% power Frieza is visited again during the Cell arc. It's the same thing as Super Trunks; grade 3 super saiyan. Goku displays this as well for context. The power grows even stronger but the speed drops due to the muscle mass. This is not an issue during Namek due to both Goku and Frieza essentially being a close playing field. The drop in speed isn't as noticeable and or Goku couldn't move as fast as he wanted to in order to dodge. Likely this is why it was never revisited as an augment to gold.

You leave his non-canon brother out of this. I’m waiting for the day wher Toriyama canonizes Cooler

Frieza is a realtor who buys(forcibly) and flips it to sell it to buyers. He treats his employees with certain degree of courtesy and respect. Almost all his subordinates never turncoat which indicates he inspires loyalty from them well. He provides really good health insurance benefit to his employees. Too good in my opinion i.e. Vegeta failing his mission but he gets ride back to company and restored to full health free of charge. He is a good guy. I would definitely work for him.

100 % form is buff, but loses speed and agility like USSJ. It was a mockery of transformations. And Golden Frieza was taxing enough until he trained his stamina.
