I didn't beat the game in an hour and 24 minutes. I did each stage in world 10 multiple times until I beat it. Also, keep in mind I used a regular controller which is easier than a real Wii remote.

@@ALonerGuy995 Which version of Dolphin are you using? I believe it's normal for the monkey to be moving slowly forward even if you're not holding a direction.

@@arronmunroe version 5.0 just got done testing it out. I'm using Xbox One Controller and Monkey moving forward has by itself, but if I actually press up the monkey ball would opposites directions like "left or right"

Had Monkey Ball 1 & 2 on Nintendo GC, Mobile SMB, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe via PS2: taking turns on campaign w/ friends or four-player party games. Freakin love this series. Day one purchase for me. Maybe through good sales Sega will make a completely new SMB game?

I could never get pass world 9, couldn’t pass it without using a continue. I always wanted to get to Ultra heaven

In this game, the pause menu occurs if you press and hold the plus button. But in Step & Roll, you just press the plus button lightly to get the pause menu.

While I like this game, I feel that if this game had an option to let you use an analog stick (like on the classic controller or GC controller) instead of motion controls, it would be a lot easier to handle.

switch version probably force you into using gyro motions controls like in the BoTW shrines lol. but i'll be playing this on Xbox with a good old fashion analog stick

So.. I heard that this is getting a remake. I also heard that this game was OK at best. And looking at this game now... well.. maybe it's because I'm spoiled by the gamecube games and maybe a little bit by the DS game. I can kinda see why it's at best... OK.

On the remaster I beat it with Sonic but it’s much easier without motion controls

How did you make this look so good on an Emulator? Looks like the newly announced remake. Edit: That i get so many upvotes in such a short timeframe under an old video means that many people are searching this game because of the remake announcement :D

I played the game with the internal resolution set at 1920x1080. Otherwise, it looks exactly the same as it did on Wii.

@@arronmunroe Thanks for your response. Resolution does wonders. But yeah, sad that they remake this one, 1 and 2 would have been much cooler. Maybe some time down the road. I will also get it for PC as the Switch version is always the worst for multiplatform games. Of course it has the upside that you can play it on the go, which isn't possible for the other systems.

I liked the racetrack game. I used to kill it. But when you had to fight the Level Bosses-OMG! Super Monkey Banana Blotz was definitely played for hours

World 5 and further on was hard AF!

Yeah I got rid of this game because of it, the HD remake is much better, and because of it I got another copy of Step & Roll, and I have Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll once again However in Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll the motion controls are better, and Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll the number of worlds was reduced from 10 to 7, and their is no more boss battles So if you want one of the two Super Monkey Ball games released on the Wii, get Step & Roll, if you want this game play the HD remake version of this game on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, or XBOX One

This game could have been better if jumping was less of a crutch and more of a feature. Why should I be allowed to jump vertically when I'm falling off the ledge of a platform? If the jump adjusted to your angle and direction, it could have opened up a door to a lot of cool jumping challenges.

You do know that actual speedrunners exploit every aspect of the jump mechanics in this game to make some crazy stage cuts If you don’t believe me check AGDQ (Awesome Games Done Quick) and you’ll be surprised

I only played #2 for Gamecube, and it was awesome. Watching this after the Switch remake announcement, I'm seeing the jumping like at 1:14:06 and just thinking... WTF??? Jumping eliminates the whole challenge of the franchise! You have to learn how to use your momentum to take curved hills like that at just the right angle to make it over quickly. But in this game, you're basically Mario. Ughhh... now I know why no one liked this game. Gonna go check eBay for Super Monkey Ball 2 so I can relive the glory days.

@@mrchuckmorris In that stage you mentioned, I don't think you really can get enough speed to make it around those curves, so you're forced to make the jump there, which is actually a little difficult. Also, the most difficult stage in this game at 1:20:30 involves a lot of jumping. Of course, jumping would make some of the stages in the first two games easier, but the stages weren't designed for the ability to jump. I'm not saying that jumping is a feature that belongs in Monkey Ball, just that there is still the potential to make a difficult Monkey Ball game with a jump button. Part of the reason the stages are easier in this game is just because it uses tilt controls, and another part might just be that it's aimed at a younger audience, although I still wouldn't call this game super easy.

i’ve literally never played or watched a video on a super monkey ball game and this shows up in my recommended

Why do all of these levels feel like a straight shot to the goal? There's so little deviation from just "hold forward and go fast!". Some levels even have railings on the sides to prevent you from falling. Why?

@@sedakiv1572 the later levels actually ditch the rails. I’d say world 6 and onwards is when the game starts to turn up the heat.

The song Ultra Heaven is like it's a sunset on 6:30 P.M. and in the 10th World (Ultra Heaven) is the same thing I always wanted to see with a song.

While there are a few improvements, it's still mostly the same game. I likely will get it eventually, but I'm not in a hurry to do so.

With practice. Keep in mind that they don't have to all be done at once. You could beat world 1 without a continue and use a continue at world 2, but you would only have to start over from the beginning of world 2.

Domes isn’t as bad once you figure it out. But 10-5 is another story. Haven’t even made it to master in SMB1 so I can’t vouch for master 9, but if it’s anything like expert 7 (aka the reason I can’t reach master glitchless) it probably is brutal
