More is on the way :-)
--
What can I say? It's a true masterpiece and I doubt it needs any introduction. Everything about this game is incredibly polished and improves all aspects of the previous two games. However, I do recommend that you watch at least the playthrough of the first Metroid game on NES first if you don't know that one. Since it takes place on the same planet, you will notice many similarities and little details that connect these two games. Metroid II for Game Boy is available on my channel as well and the other Metroid games are in the works. :)
If you would like to see a game played through, just let me know by posting a comment below or by sending me a message. Thanks!

I played it in 94 at 14yo and without any help. It was great. But what wasnt great was back then if you wanted help you had to find it in a magazine or "strategy guide". Tbh that shit was pretty weak. Basically it was a 30 dollar magazine with some maps and tips for the game. edit.... just saw that people are selling those original strategy guides on ebay for 160$ now hahahahhhahha

Gorgeous. Really that's one thing I completely love about the Super NES - they upgraded the games in an interesting and instructive way: not with CONCEPT, but with DETAIL. The OG 8 bit Metroid was very cool and innovative for its time, especially since it was one of the only non-kiddie major titles on the NES. It was primitive, but had great game play. So you get all this new capacity to render graphics and what do you do? Well, you DON'T change the original game play. You resist that temptation, recognize instead that what was good then remains good now, and you just ADD to the surrounding world to make the whole thing more immersive. They did it with Legend of Zelda, Mario, and this...with epic results.

The perfect game. I remember playing this when I was 13 and I felt completely a part of that world. I simply couldn't put it down. My SNES was destroyed shortly after that in a house fire so I wasn't able to get a new one until a few years ago when the SNESmini came out. Tsunamis of memories rushed back. My 13 year old was playing GTA Online and was laughing at me playing this game. "Daaad, what the hell is thaaaaat?" "It's the beggining of games, you little.."

This game has such a special place in my heart. It was a big part of my childhood. My family didn’t have much but we would all sit around the tv and watch my Dad play the game, and our Mum would help him navigate through each part. Then once my brothers and I were older we would get to play the game ourselves. Just hearing the music in the intro was like remember an old friend. Thank you Nintendo!!! 🫶🏼

Damn this game is beautiful. The scaling, the rotation, its all natural. Mode 7 was way ahead of it's time. Really makes me sad that i was born in 2004, 10 years after this game was realeased, so i missed out on some of Nintendo's (and Sega's) best games they ever made. These games and consoles have so much more character than the current generation.

Oh, GOD, the sheer amount of time I played this game as a kid! I never could get 100%, but there was ONE Item I NEVER could get and that was the Spring Ball. My brother was able to get it, but he never showed me, and I never could find it. So, thank you for this! Also, I love watching someone fail. Not in a bad way or anything! It's better to watch an actual PERSON play, than someone using a Mod to basically play for them (talking about that TAS Mod). The "Human Factor" always makes things better! Trust me, I died NUMEROUS TIMES playing this because of screw ups! Just watching this guy (or girl) struggle at the same places I did back when makes me feel better, because it's just fun to watch, and makes me go "Yup! The number of times I kept failing in that same, damn spot because my timing was off!" Thank you for posting this vid of one of the greatest games ever created, and STILL the best game in the "Metroid" series!

In the 1990's as a kid I only had two games, the game that came with the SNES (Super Mario World) and Super Metroid, both games were so immersive and "long", you have to remember that in the 90's games were very expensive, $60, $60 translates to $124 in today's money, so owning another game other than Super Mario World was huge, back then you rented games from small mom and pop video rental places (or Blockbuster, but Blockbuster was expensive to rent, $5 for 4 days or so, I forget) who would have a dozen games to rent for $1.50 for 24 hours. I would rent all kinds of games, Madden, Phalanx, Top Gear 3000, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat 1-3, as soon as I rented Super Metroid I knew it was special, but I still couldn't afford it, as soon as I had a chance to buy a game I did and it was Super Metroid 👍 Super Metroid is probably the best game of the 16 bit era.
