seriously, i don't think even like... i've actually seen a flowchart of Ridley's AI. it's so ridiculously complicated that i don't think even high-level speedrunners bother to learn it. You just go by instinct. And honestly, it makes the people who speedrun things like reverse boss order seem like lunatics...

Have you ever went through any bosses without a single mission, using the charge beam only. I did that a month ago.

The fact that super Metroid still holds up today is absolutely insane! This game came out 6 years before I was even born and is still one of the best games I have ever played. Truly a testament to how well made the game is when it still sets standards and it came out 27 years ago!

I remember when this game came out, saw a friend fighting Mother Brain (he had rented the game), thought to myself, oh same old boss fight I see. Well he defeated the first form, I'm thinking alright it's over. I wasn't ready for the bitch to actually have a body this time, completely caught me off guard, but prepared me for what I was to expect when I bought my copy weeks later. I still have that copy in original box to this day, a treasure of the SNES.

I used the "cheat way" to beat Draygon. Let him grab me then grappled the electricity with the grapple beam and watched him fry (also drains your own health but you will outlive him)

The guy in the playthrough made it look like a cutscene where it looks like she finished the brain off but in actuality, you have full control over your character in this scene. The brain will turn to dust anyway. It's a neat little touch that he did that.

Shockingly enough people still theorize that the Super Metroid is still alive, just thriving somewhere else in the universe, spreading peace and happiness rather than malice, destruction, and devastation. I theorize that first of all.

After many years of playing this game, I never noticed the hole you blow in Draygon's chest @10:49

I remember playing this back in 99 when I was 5. I don’t think I understood the sadness of the metroid encounters until recently that I played it. I cried after thinking about it for a bit. No dialogue nothing, but either way it is a powerful story.

59 minutes, 100%. That's my best achievement for beating Super Metroid... in 1996 when I was 13 and my dexterity was flawless. Never came close since :'-(

Good thing Metroid Fusion made the "Save the animals" ending as the canonical one. Without them, Samus wouldn't have been able to escape the space station.

it's impossible to avoid that part. Even if you didn't get hit by it (wich someone has done) the game actually makes you take damage, the beam is just a graphical display, so technically it is a no-damge boss run.

No it wouldn't. Nintendo doesn't really do horror. Plus, the modern graphics would make most of this look really bad, especially if they go for that 3D look they used in the Samus Returns remake.

Man I’m so dumb for never renting this at my local video store when I was kid 😒 I can only imagine how epic the mother brain fight would have been that first time as a kid!!!

@@leeeinfield it takes a month to get to the mother brain fight without guides is what he's saying... But I just recently got this game and it was fun trying to beat it on an original SNES ... You should get a copy now if you can....

Ryu Hacco! it's actually acid. Crocomire's skin can withstand heat and lava, but not acid. says so in a Nintendo Power.

I really love that last "Eff you!" shot at Mother Brain. Mostly because I do the same thing. 😎 Also, that "Should I or shouldn't I?" moment about saving the animal friends at the end.🤣

mother brain has the same roar as mothra and kraid has the roar of titanosaorus and ridley has anguirus's roar
