The thing about the spring is that it's an obstacle just as much as it's a boost. When viewed as a power-up, it makes sense for someone to get disappointed, since it just makes the game harder, even if the challenge it presents is a fun one.

I like the power ups in super mario galaxy because they're used for puzzle solving and usually limit you in some way.

I like how the Super Bell is the only anthropomorphic power up to not follow up a meme to go with it.

Time to add Elephant and Bubble Mario
