Well, objectively speaking Kyuhyun is way better than them. Jonhhyun was better Changmin. The best ones used to be Kyuhyun, Hwanwe, Sandeul folled by Ryewook. Not sure how things are nowadays.

Actually, the best ones are Kyuhyun, Hwan Hee and Sandeul, followed by Ryewook so the distance between him and Kyuhyun aren't that narrow. After him we can see Chen. Funny that in western Yesung is so overated when his technique aren't nothing to write home about. But stans can be very annoying as they tend to rate their favorite as a top notch technical singer when they barely know what health technique really means.

Michel Rodrigues What kpop vocal line is better than K.R.Y? None. It’s this simple. Maybe there are two singers (which is actually pretty narrow) who can sing better than Reyewook, so what? As a unit, K.R.Y are still at the top, aren’t they? PS: E.L.F aren’t that type of fans. We know the level of our idols. We’ve watched them climb to this well deserved rank through the past fifteen years. Step by step. We _know_ who they are.

Say what you want about SM but they know how to pick the best vocalists.

I feel like heechuls vocals are underrated, like people usually remember him as this funny and savage guy whos in variety shows and forget what an amazing vocal he is cause he gets like 3 seconds of lines in half of the songs

Part of the reason he gets so few lines is because he can't promote with them, so rather than giving him substantial lines on the album and having other members learn them, they just don't give him many lines

@@Awakening_Sunshine This is also why in songs like Sorry Sorry and Black Suit he doesn't have any parts until the end, so he doesn't have to overdo it physically and only needs to be on stage for the last part of the song.

He was a lead singer during the debut days until he broke his voice in a live performance when performing 'U', many haters asked him to leave the group and he got the leg injury also, so SM entertainment asked him to be a rapper instead. He definitely is a lead vocalist 💙

Kyuhyun is really the best vocalist out of SM male vocalists even one of the best in kpop in general. It is so amazing how he can support C5 while not many female vocalists can reach that level nowadays

Another perfect description of Kyu: “This guys is insane!”. The control the has over his voice and his resonance are indeed insane. He constantly amazes me and never disappoints. I just love his voice and his style of singing so much!

Kyuhyun- the strongest idol male vocalists so far Ryeowook- perfect pitch the best among all idols. Amazing agility good separation of notes. Nasality is still there Yesung- good support but throatiness is still a huge problem for him can be very thin the higher he gets Zhoumi- 4th strongest in suju good support very balanced mix most of the time strongest foreign male vocalist so far

It's scary how Kyuhyun can tune his voice into any desired configuration and kill it well.

You really can't beat the vocals of a second generation group. That era everyone in a group had to have above average vocals. I have been a fan of Super Junior since the beginning...yeah I am old. lol I was happy to see you place Lee Tuek higher than most do and I agree. His voice is actually better now and has improved through the years. I have changed who I think has the best voice a million times through the years and admit my bias goes with Ryeowook and Yesung but understand where you are coming from placing Kyuhyun first. I look forward to their K.R.Y work upcoming soon. I really love your videos...take as much time as is comfortable for you. Music to me is all about the vocals and its so nice to listen to someone rate them from a technical aspect while still letting us know who you love. I love Yesung too, the most unique voice in Kpop.

No you can't beat the vocalists of SM. 2nd generation idols a lot of them were weak vocalists kara after school (except raina) miss a 4minute 2ne1(except minzy). few groups like spica all SM groups brow eyed girls apink sistar btob ...were incredibly strong. Third generation there's Wendy who is good as taeyeon eunji..etc yuju another amazing vocalists mamamoo girls also exo vocalists are amazing as suju shinee. 4th generation still no amazing vocalists so far( lia mia miyeon all seems average) only fanatics RAYEON seems strong vocalist

There no bad vocalist in SJ. In the end it's most range, versality and genre. He nailed Shindong in this. I always thought that Shin's vocal doesnt really fit with SJ musics, but his vocal can and does shine. PS: it also begs the question tho. 2 of last are scouted based on their dancing ability. Was their vocal training were less, well, in depth because they are main dancers?

@@Detnaq this is about as long as I could go. I ended up speaking longer than I planned for anyway, there isn't too much more to say, I just cut some of the waffle I tend to do hahaha

I remember when I was first getting into SJ, I thought that some members were sorta fillers for the choreo since they didn’t get many lines, but I know now that their songs just aren’t long enough for all the members to show off what they can really do

So I got into KPop when Ryeowook was doing his military service so I didn't know until he completed it how amazing he is. Great. But then Kyuhyun completed his service and returned. Only in a group with Kyuhyun would Ryeowook be second. That is how unbelievably great they are, and because of them, everyone else in the group may not seem to shine as brightly as they deserve. Someday I want Changmin, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Baekhyun, Chen, and Taeil to sing together. Can you imagine? Can you? That would be insane.

Super Junior: "All of them could be the main vocal of their own group." No bigger truth has been spoken. The ranking literally goes: KRYYYY! 😂😂 I agree with the top 3 Kyuhyun has Perfect technic, Ryeowook little less range, and Yesung (incredible, imagine being 3rd to Kyu, and Wookie and still being the Favorite! 🤯) From SUJU, my personal favorite voices are Yesung and Heechul. Shindong is my honorable mention since I always end up loving his lines in every song. I'm so happy he has gotten more lines on the 9th album. Guys everyone should go and listen to "Blue" from the "I Think U" Japanese album!

In my opinion, the reason why I thought kyuhyun always placed on 3rd rank by ELF could be because he sang lower notes too often while yesung and ryeowook sang the higher ones. It doesn't mean yesung and ryeowook wanted to dominated the song, it's just kyuhyun is the only one who can reach the lower notes without hearing so breathy or just a whisper. Well I know nothing about vocal, it's just based on my observation :)

Truuuee! Shindong has a unique timbre! Deep, a lil bit rough in low note but in higher note can be soft and touching! I love his tone ❤️

It was really enjoyable to hear an objective ranking of SuJu vocals. I'm not really a super huge fan of their group work, so I could be wrong, but I always get the impression that Ryeowook's vocal ability is severely underrated, even by the fandom itself. Most people outside of the fandom (who've heard him sing/know he exists) seem to agree that Kyuhyun is one of, if not THE outright best male idol vocalist, and most people in the fandom seem to really adore Yesung's vocal color. Whereas I always felt like Ryeowook had the unenviable position of not having as well-liked a tone as Yesung's and not as objectively superior technique as Kyuhyun's. His voice surprises me no matter how many times I've heard it. I always think it's going to be much thinner and shriller than it actually is, so the sheer volume of his voice floors me every time. That being said...Kyuhyun...damn, the lungs on that man...I thought his voice was pretty when some of his solo work came up on random shuffle but one listen to the SMtown Bolero and the Masquerade performance on Immortal Songs and I was completely won over. Guy could release a full album of him singing the alphabet with that stupidly gorgeous vibrato of his and I'd be more than happy. This comment got way too long but yes, I second all the requests for B1A4's Sandeul. The other members (no matter how much I love them and their voices) aren't nearly as good technique wise but goddamn Sandeul is a monster.

To be honest I've always liked Kyuhyun's and Ryeowook's voice colors way more than Yesung's (he sounds too strained and exaggerated for my like). I ended up finding not only some people agree with me, but also Kyu and Wookie are much better and smarter vocalists.

@@michelrodrigues5686 Oh oof. I have nothing against Yesung, but his throatiness occasionally borders on painful to listen to for me. It really makes me worry about his vocal chords sometimes. He's definitely had some performances where he knocks it out of the park, like the IS2 the More I Love You one, but he is a much less consistent of a vocalist than the other two. The one thing I never got was how everybody seems to agree that /objectively/ he expresses emotions the best out of the three, when emotions have always been a wholly subjective thing. (Also seeming to make the implicit assumption that emotions=sadness.) His style of singing just means he expresses them more overtly, such as through added adlibs or stylistic raspiness, whereas someone like Kyuhyun would rely on dynamics and such. Well, to each their own I suppose.

I agree with you about RyeoWook's voice, though I know ELFs who prefer his voice. I love KRY. I love how YeSung makes me feel like my soul is breaking with a simple song. I love how KyuHyun warms my heart, because his voice is really soothing. BUT I am kinda addicted to RyeoWook's voice because I think he is really unique. He's not even my bias in the group, but I still find his voice fascinating. «Meet him among them» is like... I just can't express how beautiful his notes are. The color of his voice is the most beautiful in the group for me.

You should check out their variety show stuff. Sometimes it's fun to see what idol groups do outside of singing

Thank you for doing 13 members, and seeing the clips you've used you really did go through most of their discography/live performances So really thank you for the time and efforts you put in this videos, it means a lot to us as fans, because Super Junior are often forgotten when people talk about vocals even tho they literally have (objectively) the TOP2 best singers in Kpop and arguably the most unique voice and talent ever (Yesung)

The fact that Eunhyuk, with that vocal compilation, came last in a group of 13 people really shows the level that Suju is. Also really enjoy how you bring out the best in everyone’s voices! Yesung is my vocal bias too, but I love how you were so objective in the rankings

I've followed them for 14 years and the top 3 is always changing for me but it's always KRY. I know Kyuhyun has a great powerful voice, then Yesung appears with just one syllable and you can feel the blast of emotion and then wookie and his clear high notes appear ... And repeat... It's a treat. I'm so glad the KRY album is finally

I completely agree with how you ranked them, Yesung is my fave since he's so so so emotive when he sings but you cannot deny that Kyuhyun is just a god amongst men when it comes to singing. I was lucky enough to see SJ perform live last year, and hot damn even with massive mic issues Ryeowook and Yesung sounded beyond amazing. I think I would've died if Kyuhyun was with them omg.

I remember watching Kyuhyun covering Jonghyun's songs on KoMS. I was kinda shocked/amazed/touched/... idk just a kind of emotion i had never had towards any other singers. (I quickly forgot it later since he wasnt doing anything that sounded enormous) so Im not surprised to see him ranked 1st. Thanks to you that now i really understand how good he is.

Not to mention the fact he was wearing a mask! I cringe when I see some senseless stans saying he lacks in the emotion department. The fact he doesn't need to overdo and force like certain idols doesn't mean he lacks it. It's actually a huge LACK of sense of certain Kpop stans.

Kyuhyun is so amazing and I thank god he is still with us today

Yesung is really everyones favourite even among their members. But I totally agree on Kyuhyun being number 1. His vocals are god tier, I can't imagine Suju without his voice.

I feel nothing when Kyuhyun sings.He is bland. I feel sorry because overall I really like him. He has an excellent technique, pleasant voice but there is something missing -the essence (?)Maybe his voice is not emotive enough or he is not feeling it , don't know. I recommend the king of the kings called God's voice -Park Hyo Shin ! He is out of this world and that is a real god tier :)

Yesung's voice is deep ,emotive and very lyrical, he resonates with a lot of people and obviously affects them so...There must be something unique about him then .

Yesung actually trains some sm rookies if I'm not wrong so the guy knows EXACTLY what he's doing so when his technique is on point is ON POINT and when he does all the things he shouldn't he also knows what hes doing but choosing style over technique and we can tell he husrts but he keeps doing it and ugh whatever he does whatever he wants

You're blind as fuck. Hope he's much more careful nowadays. His vocal condition during K.R.Y 2015 tour is just too sad. Keeping a health condition to your vocal chords is still the best way.

Thank you SO MUCH for this bc honestly I'm an elf but they all amaze me so it's been really hard to organize where I'd place them in my head. The one reason I tend to put Yesung higher, and why others may as well, is I feel like he tends to show more emotion on his face as he sings. While Ryeowook and Kyuhyun sing more stably, I don't feel the same emotion when they sing, which adds a lot to the overall performance. But I do agree with your ranking, and again THANK YOU!!!

Having Kyuhyun as my favorite is the best decision I've ever made. The voice that made stay in KPop. I'm so proud of the best male vocalist in Kpop.

I'm a bit surprised that you include Henry and Zhoumi, really thankful for that. Not to mention you put Zhoumi in such a high rank, that guy really deserve it. Such an underated vocal. I am telling you, that is not a good idea and I don't want this to happen in this channel. KVA had received a lot of shit comments from fans who cannot accept their bias ranked lower than they expected. There are some who is using it to hate on others, just to prove this group is not good or so... Samuel Bradley, just rank them within the group and just continue what you are doing, but please I am begging you not to rank them as a whole.

I honestly think the whole group is underrated for their vocals. I've been to some Super Shows and while I love their energy on stage, it is always the ballad medley that blows me away. The fact that all their voices sound so different yet it meshed into this suju sound which I cannot put in words. It amazes me every single time. I feel like telling ppl, stop sleeping on their vocals just because they dance on stage! I'm sad that we're missing out Heechul and Sung min's beautiful voice in future super show...I love listening to both. On a side note, I attended a KRY concert about 4 or 5 years ago. It was one of the best eargasm ever. I'm dying to go another even if it means I need to fly to another country again. Back then, Ryeowook had the most amazing live (could be he was in his best condition). Can't wait to go again and hear how much they have improved after the military! Thank you so much for the video! I'm personally a Ryeowook bias, but I agree with your top 3. A lot of times I am worried when listening to Yesung singing. Like boy, you got a great voice! Stop straining it like that!

I swear, Ryeowook has got to have one of my top 3 favorite voices in kpop. It's so unique, but still so skilled and powerful, yet it has a softness to it. I totally see why Kyuhyun is number 1, of course he is, no surprise there, but I simply prefer Ryeowook's vocal tone. Even though I don't hard-core Stan SuJu anymore, I still adore Ryeowook's voice. Okay, I'm gonna stop rambling now, I could literally go on for several pages about how much I adore his voice. Thank you for the hard work and effort put into this video, I know it probably wasn't easy, but the finished product is excellent.

Amazing video and ranking! I've been an elf for almost 10 years and the "dispute" between who is the best singer has been in the fandom forever. I've always said that Kyu is number 1 (i adore all of them, but Kyuhyun's voice just gets me) but since i don't know any technical words i was just like "BUT LISTEN TO HIM HE'S SOO GREAT". Now i can show your video as backup lol.

I really like Leeteuk's voice, sure he's not the most powerful vocalist but I find it very satisfying to listen to. and YES Zhoumi! he is impressive, from balads to his "metal" voice in the iconic Don't Don break, gosh that makes me miss him even more.

Zhoumi comeback last year was great. Also the song he wrote for Wuhan his hometown was just beautiful. I love that he included the younger SM generation in I'll be the for you, I thought the WayV boys really blended well with Zhoumi. Can't wait to see what he does next.

For my personal taste, Super Junior has the best vocal in all of Kpop. Not only in relation to K.R.Y. All members have unique voices. Each one is able to impress in their own way. And when their voices come together in harmony, it is something so beautiful and emotional that I have cried a few times listening to them. Kyuhyun has the best voice in all of Kpop. This is undeniable. However, my favorite voice is Yesung's, as he seems to cry through his voice. It's very emotional. I have a special affection for Siwon's voice, since he is my utt throughout Kpop. I am curiously emotional when he and Heechul sing together. It is something special for me. I would like him and Shindong to have more lines in the group's songs, or even, to release solos. I will continue to dream about it. Congratulations on the video, Samuel. It was very well grounded. And I'm sorry for my English mistakes. I'm Brazilian and I'm not fluent.

Well, in leeteuk's case it's just matter of not being allowed to sing in his natural range ,tessiture & pitch. Also, imho he's the most stable live. I guess he just need a bit more of the vocal training he gave up because there are already other main vocals in the group😁 he is really naturally gifted,so I hope he'll get motivation to work more on perfecting his super nice voice & someday we'll finally have the long awaited solo album😇

This is a fair observation for me as an ELF. Most people might see them as a ‘comedian group’ since they’re goofin' around sooo much and forget how good they can be 😄 They’re all talented while excel more in certain area. Like Eunhyuk and Shindong, might be the last two in vocals but as SJ main dancer, rapper and the creative brain of SJ (or SM too now?) stage/MV performance, they’re #1! Has no doubt on the big 3, I might weep every time hearing Kyu’s singing live! Lets wait KRY first full album this June Haha.. Oow i can talk about them all day 😄 Thank you for doing this..

So glad to finally see a really unbiased view of SJ vocals. But I promise, try going to a super show (or any of their live performances) and you will really see (hear?) how good Yesung's vocals are. His parts just leave you breathless. Goosebumps.

I've watched super show and for the first time I heard a sound that gave me goosebumps and pierced my heart. And you know what my bias is Kyuhyun but Yesung's voice is really on another level, and I always unconsciously hold my breath when Yesung's singing part

I laughed so hard with Heechul can do everything Sungmin can, and more SOMETIMES HAHAHAHAHAHA True though. Inconsistent. Maybe because he himself doesn't think of himself as a singer? He does a LOT of other things and does them really well...people know him more in variety shows and hosting. Unfortunate because this probably affects his consistency in singing. Still, even with that, he does sound soooo good for me. When he belts, it sounds so satisfying to me 😍

Super Junior is the first kpop act I've ever heard and Yesung is one my favorite voices of all time. Thanks for all of this amazing analysis 💗

Teukkie being on #8 means a lot. I also disagree on teuk being bottom 3 in other rankings and lists. People tend to forgot his singing ability because its being overshadowed by his mc skills and humour. 🐥🐥🐥

After seeing how detailed and interesting all these videos of godly vocals of super junior and i still don't understand how reacttothek not react and analyse these men so much eye-

Kyuhyun voice is my favorite from the whole kpop industry. Fun fact; he IS THE ONLY MALE IDOL who win five times (or six, i don't remember so well hehe) on king of masked singer. Others main vocals went at the show but no one ever win once, Kyuhyun is incredible!!! He's always recognized by his amazing voice😻

KRY has god-tier vocals!!! I think it's just a matter of taste or what you prefer the most, since all 3 vocals are different from each. I prefer Yesung's. He has such a unique tone and his style is amazing! His voice is so beautiful and powerful. His imperfections are what made him perfect. He deserves to be recognized more as a great singer not just in Korea but the whole world.

Yesung’s voice is what made me notice Super Junior and now I stan them (sadly very late). His is the only voice that gives me goosebumps, leaves me in awe, make my jaw drop to the floor, scalps me completely bald and make me cry due to my emotions and feels. One KZreadr said his voice is the voice of god and I couldn’t agree more. Listening to him sing, especially when he unleashes his runs, adlibs and belts at the end of songs, is like a religious experience. That man’s voice and the way he uses it are really something special.

I just love the objectivity. Yoou clearly state which voice you favor, but you don't put them first unless they are objectively the best. You did a super, no pun intended, job with this ranking! I can't wait to see what you have to say about A.C.E, I was one of the people that requested them. Great job!

Your 1~3 were what I expected. Personally Ryeowook is my favorite and a lot of people dismissed his voice earlier on because of its nasality, so it makes me really happy to see him praised like this.

Thank you so much! This is a vocal list where I don't feel bad for the last placers, as they still are exceptional singers. Also, Kyuhyun deserves that number 1 spot. I remember having a bad sore throat just because I tried to sing Kyuhyun's line in one of Suju's songs. That man has RANGE! Still can't get over how many times I repeated that outro because I didn't understand ACE (I heard it as Ass, sorry lol). My brain went dead after hearing vocal kings.

kry is the best vocal in kpop

Brilliant ranking again. SuJu have and will always be my ultimate bias male group. Their songs, personalities, variety skills etc etc are just fantastic. And the quality of their top vocalist(s) is no joke. Yesung has always been my favourite too, his voice is very manly and at times rough, which was also why I liked Kangin's vocals too. But you cannot pretend that Kyuhyun isn't No.1 in vocals. He has literally been blessed with one of the best voices in all kpop, let alone SM. His voice is like liquid gold, on honey lol. I wasn't too surprised that my bias Eunhyuk ended up bringing up the rear. He does have a lovely, gentle voice, but ultimately he is their rapper and main dancer .... so no hurt feelings :P

Even though Eunhyuk is my favorite member, I think I would agree with his ranking. The poor guy never has a chance to sing as one of the group's main rappers and dancers, so it makes sense that he hasn't improved much. But I've also noticed he actively avoids any chance he's given to sing and tries to play it off as a joke whenever he's asked to do so. I think his lack of confidence really prevents him from growing and reaching his true potential. And I know he has it because his voice really is so lovely 😭

Thank you so much for including Zhoumi and Henry! Was wondering for a while about SJ’s vocal ranking, and I knew that Heechul’s such a good vocalist. He has improved so much since the earlier years of his career..

I think he's defo improved and although inconsistent is a lot more stable,, but at the same time because of his past smoking habits, drinking habits and continuous talking for variety talk shows he can't sing super high anymore which makes me a lil' sad :(

Yesung is my bias but honestly i cant even rank KRY's voice since they have different technique and tone. You did a great job for this :)

My bias unit is KRY. And I agree with the ranking. Kyuhyun' vocal control is magnificent. He has wide range of voice and also well placed. He can deliver low and high notes effortlessly. His voice is well controlled, full, vibrant and resonant. No wonder you can still here him loud and clear even when the microphone is far from his mouth (example: Masquerade perf). Ryeowook has crystal clear voice, so full and not screechy even when singing high notes but like what you have said his weakness is his low notes. He is much comfortable in singing highnotes. Yesung on the other hand, truly added spice and emotion to SJ's songs, that makes him ELF's favorite but his style of singing kind of bothers me, because it sound painful, in terms of execution. He put so much weight in his voice, that's why everytime he sings low notes, it's barely audible, moreso it's like murmurs already, then when he sings high notes, it's straining (example is My All is In you), which I really found painful to the throat. But nevertheless he still sings great. I really love his vocal color and his emotion/gestures in singing, but I'm more concern about his vocal cords. __________ My ranking - technique-wise (active members only) 1. Kyuhyun 2. Ryeowook 3. Kyuhyun is my fav! From his singing technique and emotions, I’m just blown away by his amazing voice esp in his cover songs where strong vocal performances are required (e.g. Immortal & King of Mask) 🙌 Ryeowook’s crystal clear high voice astounds me and Yesung’s husky and soulful tone is a wonderful treat. These three are the best main vocal line in kpop. They’ve backed it up for the last 15yrs. I don’t know how others can claim otherwise unless you don’t know SJ.

Shindong is underrated. He just isn't given the chance to sing much

The thing about ranking sm groups is that you really have to see random stuff and dig deeper to examine more videos to understand moooore of their voices, to know what each member is actually capable of and be able to make a close-to-accurate ranking 💘 you have been doing a great job from previous sm groups until now 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

What I love about your videos is that you do something that I think nobody else does here on KZread. Most Kpop group rankings are just lists with no reasoning or explanation for the placements, that’s fine because everyone deserves to have an opinion but still it’s very interesting to hear this in depth analysis because it makes the watcher reevaluate and try to be more objective. Don’t worry about making them long, it’s always interesting I swear. I bet you must have put a lot of effort into ranking Suju, thank you for that. Doing smaller groups next is a good idea too, it can help your subscribers discover more groups

But yeah, now that we're growing abit, I'm excited to delve into smaller groups and hopefully people who may not know them. Can get new groups they love. Just like I do.

Just a quick tip: if you ever want to look up pronunciations, you can always just watch variety show videos of them since they will usually do introductions. Plus, you might get some laughs too 🙃 it’s hard pronouncing foreign names and I’m sure nobody blames you! ❤️

I think that Mr. Bradley does a super job with names. Of course there's no blame!!! Why would there be??? Every language has unique ways to pronounce their words, and some are very difficult--especially when the other language doesn't have that sound.
