Lee Junho is one of the best all rounder in K-pop. He is one of the best performers. His singing and dancing skills are topnotch. Not only that, he composes, writes, produces all his songs, produces his albums and concerts. He is one of a kind and simply the best you can find in K-pop.

IMHO (and I’m no expert), Junho sounds better as a solo artist. In 2PM he uses the trademark JYP sound. As a solo artist, he uses his natural voice. His solo music is beautiful. I love him.

Junho has always been my favorite because he has spectacular chops and a strong clear and stable voice plus he is their best dancer added to that his success in acting. A total talented man...he is good all around. I am glad he is finally being recognized because he was kind of not well covered in the early years of 2PM. Thank you Sam.

junho's has always been very impressive to me just because of how reliably he can replicate everything that he does. i don't think i've ever really heard a bad performance out of him or even a shaky one. sidenote: i'd love to see you do winner at some point with or without taehyun

I do agree with your ranking. Junho deserve the to be the top.

I love when Junho and Jun K sing parts together. It is so full and beautiful.

Finally, recognition for Junho being technically cleaner! People always think that singers with a "bigger" voice are the better vocalists, but it's not always the case. I love Junho's voice honestly, and I like how you pointed out how he really knows his range which is what I noticed about him and why I thought he is slightly better. I recommend their song "One More Day" in their Grown album, my favorite song from the group. Oh and a fun little tidbit about Junho, he almost got kicked out of JYP when he was a trainee because he had a bad attitude and because he wasn't improving. Though the attitude was most likely due to age, it's crazy how much improvement and progress someone can make to the point of being one of a group's better/top vocalist.

The reason why Junho almost be expelled, was not because of his bad attitude, but because he was considered by jyp to lack stage charm. In addition, he was a bit squeezed out by other trainees, so he used to come and go alone.

JYP did not immediately see the fire and amazing charisma in him. Probably due to age. But they gave him a chance anyway. Now he is the most successful of their 2pm. Solo career and acting work is very good.

Yes Junho is the best voice of 2 PM

I remember the time when Chansung was consider the worst voice of 2PM. But he never stopped improving. And see him now. He made his voice unique and strong. For me, he is in the top 3. He has still a lot of potential.

tbh the one with the worst vocal technique was Nickhun. HIs vocal was always not stable but now he also already improved a lot.

I completely agree with your ranking! Junho is by far the most talented of the group. I agree with your order on all of them.

2pm has the best vocals in kpop, i love all of them. However I have always preferred Jun. K's over Junho's, until recently. After watching their concerts in Seoul and Tokyo online, i have to admit that Junho has the most stable vocal and he as you said knows where his ranges and his limits are, and he has great techniques and is in full control of his vocals, thus was able to deliver the best live performances always.

New kpop fans don't appreciate 2PM enough. I have heard so many people talk about JYP as the company with the "bad singers" when a whole 2PM exists. Also I just wanna mention I am too excited for the Nu'est video. Like it kept popping in my head at random times and yeah I'm really happy 🥺✊ I really appreciate your hard work thank you so much♡

Oh my goodness, this is totally my ranking as well. I love Junho's voice!!!

His performance in Masked Singer also justify this no.1 placement of him. His always been so good at everything he does.

As much as I love Jun K but I agree I would also put Junho as first. He is a smart vocalist and knows how to take care of his voice.

@@jacksonmerrill2499 Main vocals were always Junho & Jun K but it’s more Junho particularly the first 3 albums, being JYP as the main producers on those albums and their Japanese Albums. It was changed from 4th album when Jun K became the main producer. Junho is still the main vocals depending on the producer of the song.

Pleasantly surprised by Junho being #1. I always found his voice more vibrant and with better range and stability than Jun'.K's husky tone with limited range. I also notice that Junho often gets his lines in the later stages of 2PM's songs, because he has more stamina and is able to be stable with his lines even after dancing for most of the song.

Thank you for this great vocal ranking. I was so delighted when you recognised Lee Junho's vocal talent. Like other Baritone's in kpop, they tend to get overlooked, which I think is criminal. His is my favourite voice in 2pm (I prefer Baritone's myself), but I still appreciate Jun.K's unique voice and talent. I must say that I really enjoy your rankings because you critique fairly and honestly. So thank you for doing these rankings. They are so informative and a joy to watch.

Junho level is out of the world in my opinion he is the best vocal in kpop industry and jun-k vocals are crazy good

YAY. When I first started listening to 2pm it was Junho's voice that stood out for me...yes even better than JunK's specifically because I believe JunK has a nasally sounding voice (which Mr Sam pointed out). I love, love, love that he said Junho's voice was the best because that is what I've believed since I discovered 2pm. Junho doesn't get enough credit for what he does in the KPOP industry. I was actually waiting for another rendition of someone saying JunK was the best singer. I was pleasantly surprised.

Don't stan them but Sam explaining is always worth my time

I ranked them the same as you did, and the Junbros are a tough race. But in the end, all of their vocals mixed well and as a group, they shined way better than they did solo.

I'd say Junho's solos show off his talents and individual presence much more than when he is with 2PM. In the group he consciously blends in.

i really thought that I am just bias coz i really like Junho compared to JunK when it comes to singing. he is both good at singing and dancing... now he includes acting too..♥️

I do love Junho’s falsetto and only wish he had developed his lower range more. Always wanted a predominantly baritone song from him but it seems he prefers to use his falsetto at the higher end. Jun. K’s voice is very distinctive. I think he also has a great musicality. I enjoy his self-composed music probably the most out of all the members, all of whom have composed music. In any case, all of them have improved massively since debut. I love how all their voices blend on their tracks and how all members get a decent amount of lines to shine.

I was surprised to see who was no 1 and no 2 but after your explanation and hearing the vocal samples I totally agree with the ranking assessment.

I'm only slightly familiar with 2pm, and am pleasantly surprised. They have great vocalists that each sing with very different styles, which I really appreciate in a group. Great video as always 😊

I loved 2PM and Junho's voice is one of my favorites. I am so excited to see The Nu'est is next. They are in my top 3 of all groups and have one of the most unusual voices for their main singer. I really look forward to your opinion.

I haven't heard much of 2PM but if the person in last place has a lovely voice then I should definitely check them out

You should definitely check them out. All of them can sing live stabily even while dancing heavily. They're all super talented. Basically they make their own music. All of them write the lyrics and compose the songs on their albums. Plus, they are all actors. So, they have solid solo careers outside the group

I miss talking about 2PM, they've consistently been one of my favorite groups with some of my favorite vocalists throughout the years. I can definitely see both sides of the argument with Junho vs Jun. K and I had a feeling of who you might pick haha. Like you said, Jun. K's voice stylistically leans more towards R&B, which is he's my personal favorite but also Junho's falsettos are the death of me....AND YES CHANSUNG DESERVES MORE CREDIT!!! Idk how much of 2PM's music you've listened to, but i highly recommend Wanna Love You Again for more rich Chansung vocals :) and speaking of 2nd gen JYP groups, do you think you'll get to Wonder Girls soon? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them too!

Junho vocal is very pop like. HIs vocal is the type of voice that you will always hear in pop song while Jun. k has a very opera or ballad type of vocal with runs, growl and everything. I would say they're on the same level but it's just preference which style do you prefer.

Firstly I was shocked when I saw JUN.K at 2nd place I want to put Junho and Jun.K at first place 😁 but I really agree and respect your choice I love all of them. They are all uniq and different and sometimes I wonder how they made a group, really different group 😍😍 and I'm really thankful for this video and I enjoy it too 😍😍😍

They're my second ever favorite male group on Kpop so I'm really glad to see their vocal analysis.

me: *cries in nostalgia* I love your videos sam you go into an impressive amount of detail for such a small amount of clips used for analysis. I'm not a vocal coach or anything but I have a background in music theory/sound engineering so I like to watch your videos to see how different producers worked with different types of voices to make the song work. I have found that extremely good vocalists (i.e. Ailee) have much lower sound production and engineering in their music because her producers rely solely on her vocal abilities to outshine any lackluster harmonies or questionable chord changes. Meanwhile, singers who are more limited tend to rely more on vocal layering and instrumentals, which go in a long way to carry a song, especially in the pop genre (and most kpop is dance-pop/electro-pop nowadays so backing synths and instrumentals are VERY important). Keep up the great work!

I loved this! I love 2PM! I agree with your ranking! My favorite singers in the group are Chansung, Jun K, & Junho!

I’d recommend checking out AKMU (akdong musician)! They’re a brother-sister duo and their harmonies and individual voices are really pleasant and impressive!

I’ve been a fan of 2pm ever since 2009 and what I enjoy the most about this group is how well all the members voices go together, but also having a distinctive sound each of them, makes the songs so balanced

As a fan of Junho and 2 PM, I have to admit I prefer Jun. K's voice. It's so charming. But I am always greatly moved by Junho’s constant efforts, resilience and determination. So incredible. Wish he can always keep calm and carry on, even though he is so popular now, and become even better and truly distinguished actor and singer.

Lol stan a group with the lowest ranked member's vocals are even pretty good. Even I think sometimes Taecyeon's voice is surprisingly better than what people thought. Like that time he sang when i was your man like even though he's having problems with the pitch because of his vocal range, his runs were actually pretty good.

Junho is best. He’s has one of the best vocalist in kpop with such diverse vocal tones, great technique and stable vocals. His wide vocal range is remarkable.

I had been so sure the first place was Jun. K until I saw him running second. I like Junho the best in 2PM, but I have to admit that Jun. K's voice is more unique. Sometimes I can't distinguish Junho and Wooyoung when they sing. As an amateur, I know nothing about singing technique, so I'm glad that you appreciate Junho's voice in a technical manner.

I dont know what does it mean with groovy but both of them have a very distinctive voice. We can know its them singing without even looking.

Very interesting. I learned a lot. Big 2PM fan and the ranking doesn't matter to me at all, but you kept it interesting.

I am happy that all the members have matured and evolved in a good way! Developing into classy men while maintaining their signature image. I hope they are given a chance to showcase their talents more! They all worked hard and are all outstanding in their craft and they should share it with the world! Junho is a talented all around person that’s why he won the superstar survival 6500:1, (contest that assessed them based on dancing singing and acting abilities)and was focused that he further improved in those fields. But as I said they are all amazing! Rankings does not play an important role. It is the overall picture and how they jibe as a group that matters. I hope this wont cause rifts to their fans or the group members and that they continue to bring happiness to people who stan/love the group! I can see that you know what you’re talking about. Thank you for your insight and analysis. A job well done.👏👌

And I just wanted to add that I know you’ve been recommended Gfriend quite a bit, but if you’re planning on doing them I would suggest doing it soon since they are having a comeback on the 13th so the video would get some more attention (and they’re a relatively big group)
