Super Easy Attic Window Quilt using a Panel

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this tutorial Wendy from The Broken Needle quilt shop will show you how you can make a super easy attic window quilt using a panel and no Y seams. This attic window tutorial is different in that we show you how to make your quilt blocks without distorting the picture on your panel. This gives a 3D illusion that you are looking through a window. You can use this technique on a vertical or horizontal quilt panel.

Thanks, I changed the music. Some people didn't like it the first time around :)

Just found this video. Very helpful for both the window panes and the mitered border! I plan to do one of these soon and like this method.

You read my mind, as I wanted to find an attic window technique that had smaller window frames and accounted for distortion. Thank you for the tutorial.

Really? For the black sashing. It looks more like 1 inch

@@tracygill8900 You're right. It's been a while since I did this I had to look it up. Cut at 1" in order to finish at 1/2"

Hi, at 1:25 minutes in the video I am showing the intersection of the middle (zoomed in) You will cut 1/2" at the intersection of every window frame, including the middle. The outside edges don't need to be trimmed. Hope this helps.

So you cut a total of 1.5” Right?

I love this video. I was just starting to do my first Attic Window when I came across this. I do have one concern though. If I am taking 1/2 inch from all intersecting sides, what happens to the size of the middle panel pieces compared to the 4 outside? The outside has only 2 intersections right? So I lose 3 inches (Right & Left sides trimmed), to the 2 center and only 1 1/2 to the sides?since there is only one cut ( either left or right depending on side piece), Or am I not seeing something?
