Angela Hodge having thick curly hair is exhausting!! I chopped mine off recently because I was spending 30 mins every time I washed it just detangling and styling it. If you want frizz free curls, you really have to work for it.

I shed fistfuls of hair. I only brush my hair once between washes and then my hair is up so I know that’s why I pull out so much. But I looked at what she pulled out and thought: aw, that’s cute

All the people commenting that this is a lot of products, this is the cg method. Yes, it's a lot, Yes, it's normal, Yes, most CGM followers do this, and No, it doesn't get weighed down!! My hair is Waaayyyy curlier following this method vs my old ways. If anything, she uses less product than most. It's normal for someone with her hair to apply 1-2 palmfuls of gel before crunching out excess moisture/product and plopping

Your hair is to die for!!! Love it. My hair is super frizzy & the curls don't last more than an hour or so. I am so frustrated. 😖I have a closet full of products, nothing seems to work :( My hairdresser says I use too many products, says I should only use one. I am on the verge of getting it straightened! Toni Ann Calbo That’s normal if you’ve just transitioned. You HAVE to be patient, that’s just how it works. Straightening your hair will only make it worse. I transitioned in March and my curls are still really frizzy so you just have to be patient and find what works

Try clarifying and or olaplex # 3, then deep condition, it truly does work, then try to use 1 good light weight lotion like product and smooth it in and down as she did, trust it will work and look very nice.

I like to air dry too, you can plop for 10-30 minutes (whatever works for you) or try root clipping to get that volume while airdrying :) You'll want a decent amount of gel on your roots with this method so your volume lasts. once it's 100% dry (not sooner!) you can gently shake our your roots to break the cast!

I know how you feel. I have extra fine pixie short hair and if I put more than a pencil eraser size dot of product in my hair it weighs it down and looks horrible. Experimentation is the key! Best of luck to you!

Your hair is beautiful! I have blonde curly hair that USED to be like yours before menopause. Like you. I put layer after layer of product on my hair too. It is absolutely exhausting. I had such a hard time figuring out the porosity of my hair in the beginning of my deva curl adventure but I had a "no duh" moment when I realized the crown of my head was low porosity and the ends high porosity. Sure makes a difference on what I put on my hair and where I place it. Anyway, just wanted to comment on your gorgeous curls!

The top of my hair in the middle gets so flat throughout the day and the Roos don’t seem to curl as much as the rest of my hair do you have any ideas for root volume. I have tried the clipping method and it does work somewhat but as the day goes on it gets so flat

Most peoole with curly hair dont brush they comb their hair so thats shocking you get so much.curl that you dont pull the curl out. Beautiful

Cutting it to one length would give her triangle head.

And this is exactly why I keep my curly hair short! lol 2hrs later...

Its nice to finally see someone share a routine that has the same textured hair as mine! Lovely video.
