I remember watching this SB as a kid, but I didn't notice until now just how horribly sloppy this game was. Both teams played like they stayed out a bit too late the night before...LMBO!

Well, they were in New Orleans. This is why Super Bowls s/be played in cold, relatively dull areas. Like Detroit and Minneapolis. The players show up physically ready to play.

Brookshire's voice seems to imply he enjoyed the Bourbon St. Nightlife that week

27-10 and it wasn't even that close.

It was actually closer than the score seems, Denver had several chances to recover fumbles early in the game and had they done so they most likely would've started the game with a lead, but then the offense self destructed and the defense could only hold them in it so long. For having had their offense turn the ball over 8 times and having to play 67% of the game and only allow 27 points was quite remarkable really, 20 points if you take away the Butch Johnson "catch" that was questionable.

The blunder bowl.

Seems like it was played okay by the Cowboys. They weren't the ones turning it over every five seconds!

The Cowboys actually fumbled 5 times in the first half, but only lost one of them. They also had a (then record) 12 penalties for 94 yards. Luckily Denver played worse!

Wow Craig Morton looked like a high school QB out there.

Sportswriters joked after the game was that Morton had previous played in his career for the Cowboys...and he was still playing for the Cowboys! It was later revealed Morton came into the game with an injured hip, and fairly early in the game Ed "Too Tall" Jones hit him in the elbow. But still, if he was that hurt he shouldn't have been playing. Terrible performance.

This was a magical season for Denver, and they just completely threw it all away on this day.
