Summer Learing: Wind River Karelian Bear Dog Demonstration
Join the Wind River Bear Institute biologists and their Karelian Bear Dog Partners as they present a live demonstration on the use of these highly trained Wildlife K-9s in preventing or reducing human/wildlife conflict. Watch these “bear shepherds” in action as they teach both humans and wildlife how to coexist.

I wish we had these dogs in our town. We're a town of 11,000 in the mountains of BC, Canada. So far 12 black bears have shot this fall and there's still at least 3 that are ripping apart the neighborhoods. I don't oppose shooting the bears since I want the destruction of our property to stop. However, I'd prefer to have these dogs train the bears to get out of town. And stay away.
