Are sulfites in wine bad for you? Will they give you a headache? Today I want to clarify a point many people wonder about: What are sulfites in wine?
And why are they used in the first place?
You would have heard that there’s this additive that is used in winemaking called sulfite, or you would have seen the mention ‘contains sulfites’ on wine labels and wondered what this is for?

what is a substitute if a home winemaker can't afford these sulfates to add to wine? can lemon juice and salt be used instead or is there other ways to give a a similar effect?

What about the drops and wands that remove sulfites?
Lead ? As in they added lead, the same leading paint?!

wondering if maybe the wine was stored in containers that had lead and it leached out? very curious about this as well!
