    I’m just ordered about $3500 worth of suspension upgrades from Carli to include brand new shackles that are designed with a new bushing to minimize jarring from the rear end. Their instructions have you remove the entire leaf pack to install the shackles. I’m so glad I found this because I didn’t think I needed to remove everything. I’m running an airbag system so removing all that would be incredibly painful. Thanks for the video!!

    I just ordered a set of sulastic shackles this morning and they should arrive sometime next week. Your video shows how to install them and I can't'wait to install them and get some relief from sharp jolts from driving over any bumps. I realize the shackles won't eliminate 100% of the jolt but passengers will appreciate the relief (especially if they're in the rear seat. Full-watch; have a fine week. New Subscriber to show support. 👍🏽🙂.

    Great video. Couple things that helped me. The key for me was getting the frame high enough. I put the 12 ton harbor freight Jack stands on driver side front leaf spring mount(spring is not touched) as high as they go allows for the differential to be jacked to release those bolts raised up with 2/6 blocks of wood. Another trick was taping with scotch tape the washers together right through the middle of the washers. This kept the 2 on one side 3 on the other from moving. having a hand at that point was great as well

    Just installed mine on a 2012 F-350- thanks for the video- it helped immendsely= the hardest part of my job was figuring out how to jack up the vehicle safely to get the wheels off the ground for the install- I have 28 inch jack stands and to support the truck at the frame it was not easy- if you can figure that part out your video got me home free- the sulastic shackles helped my ride significantly as well- 2 thumbs up.

    Hi, thanks so much for this Video! I used it to install mine. 2004 F250 4X4 Extended Cab Long Bed. Here's hopefully my helpful notes. 2 people will be a great help. If you jack by the rear axle, the wheels need to be about 9" off the ground because when you support by the frame, the axle will drop a bunch. I jacked it up, loosened everything but could not get the upper shackle bolts to budge. Tried everything I had including a 3 foot extension. Had to but it all back together and take to the local tire shop. Even the big muscle guy had a hard time breaking them. Came back home and went to town on it. Very difficult to hold heavy Sulastic and get the bolts back in. That's where 2 people would really help. The top of the shackle lined up perfect with the old shackle. I had to use 5 washers on the lower shackle bolt. I put 2 on the axle side and 3 on the frame side of each shackle. My torque specs were 185 for Shackle bolts and 46 for Shocks. Test Ride: What I notice most is that the sharp hits are now softer. Like it has taken the edge off them. I expect they will loosen up as time goes on. I am happy with them so far.

I am also lowering the rear of my truck (using smaller rear blocks). The torque for the u-bolts is 120 ft lbs in a criss cross incrementing pattern, so something like all 50, then all 75, then all 100, then all 120.

    I didn't have jack stands large enough but had some big eucalyptus log rounds that I used along with my tallest jack stands. Jack stands went on the frame rails on the side of the truck and the rounds went in the back of the truck on the frame again. You can't jack the axle up because you need to be able to have the axle unsprung so you can do everything you need to do. Youll need to get some monster jack stands and use them under the frame rails.

    Brian Andrews that was SUPER easy thanks to your video. I felt I knew exactly what I was in for. I had NO issues raising the axle high enough to get the top bolt out HOWEVER the airbags made it a little issue getting the axle low enough to get the bottom bolt back in on the drivers side.

    I would say it depends on the environment you live in. I live in Southern California so we have a mild climate year round with no freezing temps, no chemicals to melt the snow. In this kind of environment they seem to do really well and last a long time. Other more harsh environments where they have more extreme temperatures and road chemicals for melting snow and ice they may not last as long.

    Yes. They dampen the sharp jarring nature of the suspension. I would say they take about 25% of the sharp jarring jerkiness out of the ride.

    It seems logical. The Sulastic shackles absorb the stress. But the question is what is the life span of this product? Because I think the rubber inside absorbs most of the stress and it will eventually wear out. This product is quite expensive by the way. A little too overpriced in my opinion. Will we be spending that much to replace it every other year?

  • @so_cal_super_T

    @so_cal_super_T

    ashlarxxx all suspension related components wear out. Everything from tires to ball joints and everything in between. So these wearing out is obvious. I have had mine for years with zero sign of deterioration or wear. However I live in Southern California and rarely venture places with harsh cold weather and treated roads. Expense is a matter of opinion. For me they were worth every penny and I will buy them again when need be. They increased the happiness of my wife concerning the ride of the truck therefore it was worth it. I don’t believe they are overpriced at all.

    Baroy Leyva have you done an install of this nature on this type of vehicle before? All of this work was done to the rear of the vehicle on leaf springs. Both sets of washers were in the same position, mirrored, from one side to another. Therefore there would be no alignment issues.

    Brian Andrews I’m telling you man, honest to God, they were installed per instructions and your video on a 2016 F350 crew cab long bed dually 4x4 all stock with 20,000 miles. They look exactly like the way you installed them. Pulling a gooseneck trailer it jarred my teeth out and the vibrations were terrible. Put stock shackles back on and it’s back to normal. I don’t think these are built for a 1 ton dually like they say they are. I’m just stating the facts. I know they have good reviews but they don’t work on my truck at all.
